"Eden..." Grigori looked away in disappointment in himself.

Eden, aware of Grigori's misunderstanding, kept talking just as she had before. "It was after that ill-fated quest that I mer Orion, the man you met earlier who went to watch the sparring match. The behemoth I went to hunt down on the quest had nearly killed me, and I likely would have bled to death right then and there. Little did I know that the behemoth was actually an Abnormality. I just knew it was much stronger than normal. This all happened before much was known about Abnormalities, and back when only one person knew how o make the antitoxin. That was him. He found me after I had alreay lost consciousness. He managed to bring me to the nearest town, where he treated my wounds first, then saved me from an excrutiating death by toxic blood. It was days before I was able to regain my strength, so he remained in the town to look after me until Cenric arrived and brought me back to the guild. Orion travelled for a bit, then came here and joined the guild some days later. Thanks to Zalia's connections we were able to spread knowledge of the Abnormalities, and the production of antitoxin began. Orion and I teamed up that same day and hunted down the behemoth, finishing it off. I got my revenge."
I wasn't talking about the ambush, Grigori. You see that now, don't you?
"I've heard rumors that your guild has successfully hunted down many of those creatures as of late. Alicorn Wing is quickly becoming the guild to go to when you're worried about an Abnormality. I'm really curious about the kinds that you've faced. I haven't really seen many, alive or dead, since I haven't been on quests lately. I was hoping that maybe you could share any firsthand experience, so I know what's out there in case I have to face it. Do you mind if I ask you that?"

"Of course not, Eden! Guilds should stand together. Though... as flattering as that is... I'm not sure where you heard such a thing. We've picked off a handful of particularly weak abnormalities, sure, but no more than the other guilds..." Leone trails off. "Regardless, from my experience, abnormalities are much, much larger than normal creatures - as I'm sure you know. I've noticed they often begin to project a... dark aura when wounded, and they start to fight as if they don't care about their injuries. There are... two thing's I've noticed that were a bit odd. There was a boar that almost seemed to be using... Well, I don't want to jump to conclusions, but... It almost seemed as if it was using sonic magic? Perhaps I was imagining it. And there was another abnormality, a kraken. Normally they're extremely aggressive, but this one... It let us go after Hecate dove into the ocean to fight it. She said the monster just... wanted to play? So perhaps abnormalities can be even more abnormal than we originally thought? ...Oh, but listen to me ramble. Your guild came up with the antitoxin, so I'm sure you must know all about them already."

"We really don't know any more about them than the average guild. We shared everything we knew with Zalia, who made sure the information reached all other guilds in Aselia. The things you just told me about the boar and the kraken are completely new to us. That's why I was asking. If the guilds are going to learn all about these creatures it will require us to pool our knowledge. So, if we learn something new as well, you can expect that we'll try informing everyone. Thank you, Leone."
--- Later that day...
The entire group from Alicorn Wing had regrouped, and though they seemed to have enjoyed their day in the city of roses it was now late, and time to depart. As the group for Silver Chimera stood facing the departing wizards on the dock, they said their last words to one another and said their farewells.
"Give our regards to the rest of your guild!" Eden said.

Hecate looked at her group, then smiled and waved. Goodbyes were never her thing. She then looked at Atticus. "We'll do so. Sounded will be surprised to know we spent a day with the famous Silver Chimaera's!" Atticus chuckled.
Aldous waved a little. "Thank you for the tour. If we ever get any free time off, we'll make sure to come here to Rosebud."

Earlier that day...
"I'll pass on the tour, thanks," said Gareth. "I'd rather go any experience things myself later. So what's this about lunch?"

"Thank you again for the tour, Eden! Rosebud's such a lovely town. I hope I can come back someday soon. I'd love to see the town in full bloom!" Leone says.
"If you four are comin' back on this ship, hurry aboard!" Rallos calls down from the top of the gangplank. "I haven't had a late arrival in 24 years, and I'm not starting today!"
"Oh... That's our cue. Goodbye everyone! Stop by if you're ever in Harborshore!" she calls as she retreats up the gangplank. A few hours later, the Alicorn Wing mages have eaten dinner and retired to their rooms for the night. Leone knocks on the wall between her room and Hecate's, then slowly phases her head through the wall. "Hecate? Do you... have a moment to speak privately?"

With her arms behind her head, and dressed in a nightgown, Hecate looks over. "Is something wrong, Leone? You look... Worried." She said, sitting up. It wasn't like her to be so concerned about people, but a lot of things seemed to keep changing in this last month.
Moreso, her attitude towards life. She was starting to make friends. Once upon a time, she'd had rather given up on people and do what she wanted, but now... Velia's words rung through her head. Were friends truly enough to make her stronger, or did she have to find something, and if so, where was it? Was it in front of her, or was she unable to grasp it.
Hecate's eyes lost their glazed look as she returned to reality. She awaited Leone's explanation.

"Eden, when would you like me to continue our talk that we had a few days ago?" Grigori asked her as the others left.

"You can say whatever it is you want to say now, while Cenric and Orion are with us. It won't bother me," she answered.

"I'm really only comfortable with you and Zalia hearing what I have to say, though Zalia already knows." Grigori shook his head. "Cenric, could you teleport us back to the guild?"

"I... Oh, where do I begin?" Leone asks, stepping through the wall. "Hecate, I... I'm really glad... Um... No, it's... There are things I haven't really told you about my past, Hecate. Things I can't tell you. Not... here, not now. I... I'm just really glad that you didn't take Marian's offer. I... I can't tell you everything, but... Trust me when I say that the Vallasts aren't good people. The whole company's rotten - no, not the whole company. I wouldn't have let you on this ship if I didn't know Captain Rallos to be a good and honourable man. But... Something's wrong. I can't tell you what, though, I'm not... sure myself. But too much just goes in their favor for it to be coincidence. So... Um... Thanks."

Hecate frowned. "Atticus told me what happened... And how you got slapped. I'm angry about that, but why didn't you stand up for yourself?" She asked. She balled her fist up. For a few minutes, her body trembled as she gritted her teeth. Her vision blazed red as her nails dug into her tender skin.
"She's lucky I wasn't awake," She growled. Then, she took slow, deep breaths until she could think clearly again. "I'm sorry you had to see that. You're... Welcome, Leone. I couldn't help but notice you both have the same last name..." She trailed off.

"...We do," Leone says. "But... But we aren't a family. I am not that woman's daughter. That's not... I've made my choice. But, still... um..."
Leone takes a half-step back, fidgeting with her hands. "Hecate, I hate to say this, but... But I may have to disappear for a while."

Hecate felt her blood run cold. "I-I'm sorry? Did you... No, no, you didn't say you're leaving, did you? Don't joke with me like that Leone." She mumbled. She looked down at the bedsheets, trying to erase the words from her mind.

"I'm not joking, Hecate," Leone says firmly. "I don't... I don't want to leave. I don't want to be stuck wandering again! I'm happy with Alicorn Wing! They're the family I always wanted...! But I might... I might not have a choice... And if I go, I won't be able to stay in contact, it would be too risky... I'm so sorry, Hecate..."

Hecate wordlessly got out of bed, moving towards Leone. Her bangs shadowed her eyes as she slowly slumped to her knees. "Please don't leave me... Leave us. I can't take losing another person. I'm weak... Leone," Her hands reached up to tug at Leone's dress.
"I-I can't do this anymore... N-not without people close to me. Please don't abandon me.... I'll do anything! Is it the way I act?! I can change that... I... I can change that... I can dress like you... A-act... Like you!" She said desperately, raising her head. Already were tears streaming down her face, dripping kn the cabin floor.
Her eyes searched Leine's desperately for some sort of cruel joke. Her chest hurt as her hands slowly dropped from Leone's dress, miserably dropping to the floor. She had a list expression on her face... Almost as if she had gone into shock, or that her mind just wasn't processing everything. Alicorn Wing had made Leine happy, right?
Nothing made sense. Nothing.

"He...cate..." Leone drops to her knees beside Hecate and wraps her arm around her neck.
"Hecate, listen to me..." she says, barely whispering. "No matter what happens in the next few days, I'll always... I'll always know where my home is. With you, and Atticus and Aldous, and everyone else. We're a family, Hecate! Even if we're apart, we're always... We'll always come back to each other. No matter how far apart, we still love each other!"

"But that's the point, Leone!" Hecate said hoarsely. "I don't want you to leave at all! When you found me in that village, miserably living out my existence... I thought I made a friend. Maybe... It's my own damn fault for getting too close. I should have known it would happen again! My parents, Ironca... And now you. Am I really so wretched that everyone I get close to leaves?" She pushed away from Leone, her earlier expression replaced with pain.
"Maybe I should close off my heart, but I can't think straight... I'm not thinking straight. Time alone... Please leave." Hecate brought her chin up to her knees, covering her face.

Leone isn't quite sure what to do. She wants to say something, anything to make it better, but she knows she'll just make it worse. So she touches her temple and slips back through the wall to lie on the bed and cry. Marian drops off a small box in front of Silver Chimera and knocks on the door. Inside the box is a few bottles of various fine alcohols. Attached is a letter.
To the Mages of Silver Chimera,
Please accept this small token on behalf of the Vallast Trading Company as thanks for your sterling defense of the town of Rosebud. I regret that I was unable to speak with you in person, but urgent, personal matters have come up.
-Mrs. Marian Vallast
