"Excellent, excellent!" Leone assures Hecate, patting the hand Hecate placed on her shoulder.
"I don't have a reason not to accept," Atticus shrugs. "Besides, I hear Rosebud is beautiful this time of year. Er... When it's not... y'know... smashed up..."
"As for me, if the lovely Hecate is going, I most assuredly must follow!" Aldous announces cheerfully, throwing an arm across Hecate's shoulders.
"If you'll excuse me..." Leone says. "I'm off for some combat training before breakfast. Atticus, be sure to clean up your brother's remains before I return, if you would be so kind." Without waiting for permission, Leone stood up and strolled towards the front door.

Hecate shook her head at Aldous, removing his arm. "That's enough flirting out of you. I'm taken." She said with a grin, and then proceeded to walk off before anyone could question this. She trailed after Leone, and hoped the others wouldn't take the joke seriously.
She was certain she saw the stunned and confused look on Aldous' face before she left. Heh heh. She didn't know why she was following Leone anyway. But they clearly had some dark secrets in their closet. Usually Hecate didn't go out of her way to talk to her fellow homosapiens.
Once she was sure she had caught up to Leone, Hefate paused. "Something on your mind?"

"Oh, Hecate?" Leone gasped. "You startled me!" Leone takes a second to compose herself. "I'm afraid I simply can't stop thinking of you. The way you slew that boar was simply astounding! I must redouble my efforts at training if I'm ever to not slow you down." Leone opens the latch on a small trapdoor hidden near the entrance and waits for Hecate's response.

Hecate blinked in surprise. "You can't... Stop thinking about me? E-er, well, that's... Interesting." Hecate laughed awkwardly. She stepped over to the hatch. "Hm. A secret training ground. Quite brilliant. Does it have emergency shelters or something similar in case we need to evacuate citizens one day?"

"Oh, no, nothing that fancy. We're just a small guild, we can't afford anything on that scale. While protecting the town is part of our duties, this bunker's not particularly large. Just big enough for a few people to train in, as well as the old man to... practice without disturbing anyone. It's quite brilliantly designed, actually. The walls have a very particular bit of holding magic on them that absorb and dissipate sound waves, allowing the old man to blast away long into the night with no fear of disturbing anyone else, and also making them quite resistant to mundane damage. It's also stocked with plenty of blunted weaponry, targets, and the like. I can't believe we've yet to induct you. Quite careless on our part, really." Leone drops through the hatch.
The room at the bottom of the ladder is about the same size as the main hall, with plenty of room for a dozen or so people to spar comfortably with weapons - or two or three people using magic. The walls are a silvery-grey color, and formed in a peculiar zig-zag pattern that wraps around the entire room, as well as the ceiling. The floor is covered with a large, soft mat.
Leone turns and looks up the ladder, extending a hand. "Would you care to dance, Hecate?"

Y'know... The travel brochure advertised a beautiful city filled with roses as far as the eye could see; hence the name.
...What the hell happened here?
Gareth scanned the city of Rosebud Hills from a hill providing an adequate vantage point. While it wasn't so far gone as to be called an eyesore, the city has clearly seen better days. The gorgeous while buildings pictured in the brochure he was using as a guide for directions were damaged at best, crumbled at worst, with a lot of the white often obscured by both the darker colors that come with the construction equipment everywhere, and the debris covering the streets. As he came closer to the town, he noted banners drawn around the town signifying the presence of the Aselian empire: labeled shelters, emergency medical treatment sites, even a shop of some sort converted into a makeshift soup kitchen for the citizens.
If nothing else, the empire's got a good response team on hand. But the question stands, what the hell happened here? It sure as hell doesn't look like a natural disaster occurred; the roses out here would've all been dust. Was it an attack? By who?
Gareth waded through the city. All things considered, the damages didn't seem to crush the spirits of the citizenry; everyone appeared supportive of one another and even the elderly seem to be doing simple services like passing out blankets to the youngsters. At the very least, the city was still salvageable; not at all burned down to the point where anything that gets erected in place would be nothing more than a shadow of its former self. Given Gareth's lack of knowledge on city rebuilding, he figured... a year before everything looks good as new?
I feel like I should help somehow, but the knights look took occupied to bother, and I'd rather try something more organized than what the civilians would suggest. Maybe the guild will point me in the right direction. After I apply, of course.
Checking the brochure's local map of the city to make sure he's going the right direction, Gareth spotted the lighthouse, and later an adjacent building adorned with a banner holding what was presumably the guild's symbol.
So this is Silver Chimera... What kind of people makes it up, I wonder?
Gareth put away the brochure and walked the path leading to the building, noting an awful lot of dirty footprints and trampled grass underfoot. Upon reaching the front door, he knocked on the door and walked inside upon noting the door being unlocked.
"Hello?"

Hecate gingerly grabbed Leone's hand as she made her way down the latter. "Well, you see, I'm not much of a dancer.... Oh! You're talking about fighting, huh? Sure, I could go a few rounds. Warning: I get carried away when fighting, so you might want to rethink this."

"There's no reason to avoid talking about it as if it didn't happen, Orion. We both know it did, and we don't regret it. But what we an do is figure out how we feel about things slowly, while we learn more about each other, alright?" Eden said.
She stayed where she was at and kept holding him for several minutes in which there was silence. Then she turned to him again with the question that was beginning to bother her. "So... What do we do now?"

Orion nodded, and let out a relieved breath he hadn't even realized he was holding in. Those next few minutes he spent in Eden's arms seemed to calm him down a great deal, and by the time she asked the same question he himself was wondering about, Orion was mostly back to normal and calm enough to answer, well... Calmly.
"I think that's up to you Eden," he answered, smiling, as he caressed her arm. "Personally, all I want right now, is to keep you in my arms for the rest of the day... But I'm fine with taking things slow. We don't even have to change what we normally do every day, Eden. Let's just spend time together, and get to know each other better, and let things happen as they happen. And if we ever need privacy to talk alone, then we can spend our nights together as well. As for right now... I think we need to decide how we're going to act around the others. Do you want to keep our relationship a secret, or am I allowed to show my affection for you when we aren't alone?"
--------
"Welcome to Silver Chimera," Zalia called out from her usual place behind the bar, turning to the newcomer. "If you're here to drop off a job request, you can leave it on the counter and I'll look it over. If not, then what can I do you for?"

"Orion, the walls of this building are fairly thin, and our voices are very loud. When we were shouting earlier I'm sure it could be heard in the main hall. I'm sure the others already know," she said.

Orion blinked, realizing she was right. Then he laughed, a light, soft laugh. "You're probably right. That takes care of one thing, I guess."
He gently dislodged himself from her, and turned around, pulling her back into his arms, her head against his chest. "Are you hungry?" He asked suddenly, brushing her hair away from her face.

"We should probably brace ourselves for plenty of jokes and weird looks before we go downstairs," Eden said.

Gareth took a quick look around the guild before responding to the woman behind the bar. There weren't a lot of people around; aside from him and the woman, there was only another woman seemingly passed out on a table and a pair of men playing chess nearby. One thin and young, the other tall, well built, and likely in their forties or so.
Gareth cleared his throat as he walked over to the bar counter. "Yes, well, first of all, I'm new in town. What happened outside?"

Orion chuckled, and leaned down to kiss her. "Yes, well, let them joke as much as they'd like. I'm not bothered in the slightest. But we should probably clean up first. If you'd like, I can bring our breakfast back up here, and we can spend some more time together. I know you must still have a few things you want to ask me, and you never did tell me where you found my swords, Eden."
-------
"The city was attacked by a Dark Guild yesterday," Zalia answered, sighing. "Thankfully, there were no casualties, and the damage to the city could have been much worse. It will take some time to recover, but we'll manage. Would you like a drink?"

"No need to restrain yourself too much, Hecate, these weapons are well blunted. Besides, some things are best rough. Hm hm," Leone chuckles wryly. "Now, let's seal that hatch, lest our tryst fall under observation."
She pulls a lever on the wall, and the hatch slams shut.
"And now no one should be able to hear us. For a few seconds, at least..." Leone walks to a blunted rapier sitting on a rack against the wall. As she swaps it with her real rapier, she speaks over her shoulder. "You're quite the dashing young woman, Hecate, and toying with a lady's heart is exceedingly cruel. I should be perfectly clear that any flirting I do with you is purely at the expense of the Fairchild twins. Pray forgive me if I've led you on, but I am simply not interested in any type of relationship at the moment."
Leone turns, testing the weight of the rapier off-handedly. "I feel one must come to be comfortable with oneself before one comes to know another, no?"

Hecate was reluctant to to swap her fan with a training axe, but it suited her fighting style just fine. She chuckled at Leone's words. "Don't worry, I was joking with them as well. I wonder how far it can go before we decide to pull out of the plan." Her eyes twinkled with mischief.
"Good thing you said rough. I like rough battles. Good thing this place is soundproof. Screams and stuff make people run away really fast." she said, taking a few swings of her axe.

No casualties? That's very impressive. However... this guild is enemies with a dark guild then? Never faced one before. Heh. I knew I made the right choice.
"No thank you, I don't drink," replied Gareth. "More importantly though: the real reason I'm here. I want to join up with this guild."

Leone raises her free fingers to her temple. "Reflection of Beauty, Ghost Body..."
"Memory Combination! Illusory Dominance!" Golden chains combine and encircle Leone. Leone suddenly steps out from inside... Leone... And then two near-identical people are standing side by side, rapiers trained on Hecate. "En garde, then!"

Hecate throws off her jacket, leaving her in her zip-up shirt. "So... You're trying to confuse me huh? Guess I'll have to hit both of you." Hecate says, swinging at the Leone on the left. She was surprised when it went right through.

Leone launches a quick thrust towards Hecate's midsection, then leaps back, realigning her stance. The illusion leaps back to her, passing straight through Hecate, and the pair briefly overlap before jumping apart again. The Leones level their rapiers. "Brute strength alone won't win every fight, Hecate! You've been with us a month, you should be able to see the true me!" they announce in unison.
