In turn, there is no proof of your theory anywhere, and Orion isn't a Dragon Slayer. However, it is canon that Slayers eat their respective elememt. Even Natsu can eat normal metal arrows. And now that Digi reminded me, I do remember Wendy and Cheria eating air before. Not "airy metals".

So what does Orion eat?
Even in-universe, eating fire or metal would be more efficient due to having more energy/mass, since despite being surrounded by shadows and light respectively, Sting and Rogue didn't "fuel up" and regain their strength in the fight against Natsu.
Plus, Sting's light is described as a sort of holiness and not just light, so there's probably something else behind it. Does he eat holy water or something?

Also, back to Turban, think about it.
He tunneled underground for quite a while, which would grind rocks and such into sand, which would then be kicked up as dust.

Orion can eat all forms of Light Magic, including Light Dragon Slayer and God Slayer Magic. However, he needs to empty his own Magic Power before he can eat Light God Slayer Magic. He can eat natural light as well, but only if it's a certain purity. For example, he can only harness moonlight if it's a clear night, and a full moon. He can infuse his own magic into normal water and consume it later for a small boost in power during an emergency, but like all Slayers, he can't eat his own magic right as he casts it. I guess you could call that "Holy Water". On dangerous missions, he swaps the alcohol in his flask for his Holy Water. |

Also, spoiler. Later on, he'll also be able to use Lightning God Slayer Magic, and eat Lightning as well. |

For numerous reasons. Mostly because of arrogance, and the sort of dominance he's implying that he has over her and how that comment could be taken along with that implication. So yes, it's antagonistic, so it fits and serves it's purpose well.

Also, just to put another stipulation on Orion's whole "eating natural light" thing, he can only do it when he's high enough in the air. That's the real reason for his little game of "Cat and Mouse". Because if he's high in the air, under a full moon, he's practically invincible.
