So, not to really say anything negative because what you guys have seems to be working fine, but everything is kinda... out there.
I mean, it's not, but...
You have CYOAs, Discussions, RPs, etc. Perhaps instead of seperating the discussions of the same thing, it should be grouped together. Like...

Yes, it's more folders, but it's far more organized to particular subjects instead of
CYOA
-Cyoa topic
Discussion
-Discussion about CYOA
Social
-Other things related to the same CYOA
And things like that. It'd just be better for those topics, I feel.
Perhaps I'm too new to this community for my opinion to matter too well, but I have been doing this for a while.
And perhaps if my explanation is too confusing, just take a look at S6.Zetaboards.com/The_Final_Forum for perhaps a better understanding.
Um... Yeah. Discuss?

I think only Admin can make folders unfortunately, which would be a hassle if I wanted to make a new CYOA tomorrow for example. We've been making due with having topics in the appropriate places, and having links in the OP of the RP/CYOA topic to network them. At least, for the more organized ones.

It would be a massive clusterfudge if every single RP and CYOA out there got its own forum; especially when it goes that way for even dead-in-the-water RPs.
And if this forum starts getting a larder population, hoo boy.

Uh....... Are you trying to kill me, Spitz? What part of that is organized? The whole point of organisation is to make things easier to access. That wouldn't make things easier, it would make things harder. And I'm way, way too busy to even try and begin that, so I would have to make someone else a FULL Admin, which would have to be someone I trust explicitly, and someone who actually has the time to do it.
.... Remind me who that is again? Right. No one. I value your opinion Spitz, but that's utter lunacy.

Dead-in-the-water ones would simply go in an RP Archive. The lack of another Admin in something so huge is... not good. You're really the only one? In that case, the workload would be pretty big, yes. Mods really can't do that? A shame. As to what part of that seems organized... I'd daresay all of it. It's easier access for the main draw of the site. If say, UB is important to the site, then it deserves a section that can have everything important to it in one place, instead of everwhere across the site. It makes Everything related to the particular CYOA/RP quicker to get to. It's ease of access. |

Can mods do stickies?
Sticky Nova at the top. Make the very first post of Nova an index to all the other relevant sections (oh wait, it is). In post links is a thing. Popular RPs get stickies, not popular ones don't.
The Nova Discussion topic will be the same thing. Sticky at the top of the Discussion section. First post is an index. Every related thread will be networked with the others through a first page index to make an interwebz.
Format all titles to start with the RP title, so if you are looking for it in your bookmarks or recent posts thing, you dont have to look far. If you click on the discussion when you wanted the RP, you only have to click the link in the index in the first post. Tada.

If I wanted to read UB and wanted to ask the best way to understand it from the beginning, I wouldn't like having to search through 3 different links to pick out the discussion topic

Have a new section for RP pitches then. Direct new users there and the RP runners make an orientation post with the relevant info and links.

And I guess I apologise for bringing this up. I didn't think it could lead to such contempt.
In all honesty my sole intention was to make it easy to find everything for what you want to gwt involved with instead of digging. If others find this method easier, then by all means continue with it.
Just understand I mean no ill will or contempt, as it is after all just a suggestion.

I don't hate you, I just felt like it would widen the gap. I'll be blunt: Most of the old cyoa crew vote on the old cyoa they know.
I've stopped AS due to extensive remaking, hence the end of my posting there. Your suggestion is nice, but we have organization.
CYOA not based on games go to the other section; which are original and not based on games.
RP have a board for themselves, and the discussion topics in the discussion folder.
However, I feel CYOA discussion topics should be placed in CYOA folders: Other and Games.
Discussion board should be for RP discussion and topics such as The House.
