Part one: RWBY: Reawaken Wonderful Blessed Youths
Everyone attended. There were many faces she did not know, and many she did. Ruby Rose looked around. Pain was evident on all the faces there. No one was talking, and nearly everyone was crying. She recalled her duty as a leader. If no one else would say anything, she would. So she swallowed her fear and stepped up to the podium.
"I'm... reminded of a song when I look at the coffin. I was... too young to remember my own mom's funeral, but I... I do remember part of a song." The young leader closed her silver eyes, dredging up a distant, vague memory. "Red like roses fills my dreams and brings me to the place you rest..." Ruby stopped suddenly, blushing. "Th-that's all I remember. Weiss, you're better at this, you take it!" The girl said, using her speed to sit back down.
Weiss slowly rose, unsure of a sudden performance. Thinking, she knew of just the song to sing, provided it was twisted a little.
"It was just fine, we lived in peace, looked to a happy ending.." Weiss Shnee sang, slow and melancholicly. The beat was different than what the teens were used to, but it was with great reason.
As Weiss sang, she slowly circled the coffin. True, she did not personally know this man, but deep inside, at the core of her very being, something told her it was a huge, important connection, one she could hardly fathom. Giving one final note, she picked a pink lotus blossom and placed it on the coffin before sitting down, tears beginning to fall. She sat down, wordlessly gesturing to Blake.
The faunus got up. Her normally stoic face was instead pained. Going up to the podium, she spoke. "I... I never knew him. But he knew me. Knew all of us. I know he would want us to March on. From Shadows, we'll rise. Above the Darkness and the pain, above all ridicule and hate. We will rise." Blake Belladonna sat down, pushing her teammate Yang Xiao Long forward.
"Well, that poem sure didn't... rise to the occassion." The blonde said with a pained expression. The crowd could only glarecat her. "Look," she began, "I never was the best to cope with... anything, really. These jokes and puns... It's what he'd want. A smile on everybody's face. He had no want for sad things. He'd want us all to burn brightly! And I burn! Can't bring me down! So let's all burn!" Yang said, sitting back down herself.
Part two: JNPR: Justice Never Phases Reality
Juane Arc was the next one to go up. His steps unsure, he approached the podium. "I... also didn't know him. To me he honestly feels like some guy we're all mourning, and yet I find myself... average. But I'm sure, whoever he is, he did... a lot of great work! Protected the people, and... he was really somebody to look up to! He made a lot of people happy! I'm sure wherever he is now, people are asking him all kinds of questions!" Juane nodded, full of confidence as he sat down.
Nora Valkyrie stood up and approached the coffin slowly, shaking and sobbing with every step. At first she had tried to be happy, but this man was too respected. She had seen that and wept. Now she was open about it. She placed a finger on the coffin, removing it quickly. "When I want to say I love you... I say boop... so... boop." It was all the strength she had in her, collapsing into her seat as Ren was oblivious.
Pyrra Nikos stood up and approached the podium. All eyes were now on her, but as a prestigous student she was used to it. "He was someone we could all look up to. A figure of tremendous respect. I think that tonight is when the stars'll line. We're gonna shine." Pyrra said, sitting down.
Lie Ren stood up and approached the podium. He opened his mouth, but quickly closed it. He knew what all he wanted to say. He wanted to tell them that he was a brave man, the finest Remnant would ever see. He wanted to applaud his courage and commend his generous heart. He wanted to talk all about him and the way he touched others lives. But the words did not come. Choking up, Ren started to cry. He managed to nod at the coffin before sitting back down.
Part three: PINS: Protecting Innocents Never Surrendering
Penny Polendina was the next to step up. "Salutations!" She said with a wave. "I'm sorry he powered down, but I'll be sure to find replacement batteries for him! He's amazing friend!"
James Ironwood takes her hand and has her sit down, taking the podium himself. "Apologies for that. I'll have to... correct that. But on to this man. He was charismatic, brave, and a true leader! He was smart and dedicated. I hope his aura will rest in peace."
The next to step up was Neptune Vasilias. He looked around, gave a twinkling smile, a thumbs up, and fistbumps the coffin. "He was a cool dude. Cooler than me. He was, from what I heard, an amazing dancer. So I'll strive to dance like him! I'll improve on it, just for him! Rip, you amazing dancer!" Neptune said, starting to poorly dance.
Sun Wukong pushed his friend back to his seat with a groan. "Okay, Kevin Bacon, that's enough from you." He zipped back to the podium. "I apologise for that. Somethings should never be seen. But his soul, he should really be seen from everywhere. He was cool. He made all his friends smile. Rip in peace dude." He took his seat.
Part Four: JAMM: Juniors Arise Majourly Motivated
Junior was the next to take stand. "He was... a good man. I am... proud, to have given myself to his cause, even unknowingly. Take good care of all the grunts up there for me, yeah?"
Adam Taurus was the next to step up. He nodded at the coffin. "He was amazing. He lead us all to do great things, even if there are... disagreements as to what is great. He's fine now, wherever he may be."
The Malchite twins stepped up next. Melanie spoke first. "I liked him. He was nice." Miltia spoke next.
"He was pretty cool. He totes has our respect. He was... also quite the looker." The girls both sat back down.
Part Five: CRMSN: Crying Really Must Stop Never
Cinder Fall then stepped up. "And here we are, now mourning the loss of this man. He lived a full life, but of course, it was taken from him too soon. I am not your sacrifice... but for him... maybe I would have been." She almost whispered the last part to hersrlf. Clearing her throat, she sat down.
Roman Torchwick followed. Unlike ninety percent of the gathering, he had his usual smirk on his face. "Well well, this is quite the gathering. Even Red is sobbing away. I mean, there are probably more tears here right now than Ice Queen has Dust particles in her weapon. But hey, that's proof he was one hell of a man, I guess. Anyways, I certainly give my respects. Tip my hat and all." He did so with a flourish, sitting down afterwards.
Mercury Black was next. He had a frown on, but it almost felt unnatural. He looked at the coffin and just frowned. "I can't believe we lost him. Gotta admit it kinda hurts. Never really got to know him, but I'm sure he was awesome."
"How motivating." Emerald Sustrai said as Mercury let her up to the podium. "Look, the guy's gone. That's sad. But he wouldn't want us to act like this. We all have jobs to do. So let's just get to that, okay?"
Neo and her Aid approached after that. As Neo signed, the other woman translated. "Our loss is all great. We all know the dangers of our job. But he did the best he could. He was an inspiration to us all. I hope, no, know he's happy where he is now."
Part six: POGO: Purity Only Got One.
Peter Port steps up next. "What an admirable fellow he was, always a real great help, what a fantastic leader! Why, he reminds me of my grandfather, the way he'd tell stories. Why, I remember one my grandfather told me in particular. 'Peter when you meet great men, you have t-"
Bartholomew Oobleck swiftly moves Peter back to his seat, the older man still going on about his grandfather. "Lookthisguywasamazingandhe wasveryexperiencedand certainlythetopmostperson inallofRemnant. Thenewsofhispassingwasheartbreaking. Reallyit'shardtohearIdidcrymyself. Whenamandieshemovesontobettrrthingselsewhere. Iforoneamatleastgladthat he'sinabetterplace. Trulyatragiclossforallofus." He sits down as Glenda Goodwitch takes the podium.
Her stern expression plastered on her face, she looked around. So many students crying, no, people crying! It broke her heart. Thinking, she decided to at least surprise them with her own perfect tribute. She opened her mouth, letting the old worlds flow.
"One life, is not a long time, when you're waiting, for a small sign..." She closed her eyes, recalling fond memories of her own. The assembly watched as her expression changed, the corners of her mouth turning up. Slowly, it became a full beaming smile, captivating everybody. The attention was all on her as she finished the song. "You'll be lifted up... And you'll be there." She opened her eyes, a blush evident on her face. "He... was a great man."
Proffessor Ozpin laughed, causing a few looks. He took his place as Glenda sat down. "Glenda, it's still as lovely as ever. Don't be embarrassed. He never was.
He was a great man. He's still a great man elsewhere. In our hearts, he thrives. We will cherish him always, and always respect his memory. It is for people like him that we survive. It's for him we fight, and live our lives. It is for his memory that we do everything in our power to make the world a better place. Rise, in honour of him! Fight for him! Live and be free for everything he's given you. He is the reason for our hope, so let's carry on for him!"
Final part: SPTZ: Simply Perfect, Truly Zero.
This was my thank you. My wreath of flowers. I recall when I first saw Haloid. The animation was truly spectacular. The fighting? Marvelous. My friend Dagothvile was the first to show me.
Then there was Red vs. Blue and Dead Fantasy. So amazing and beautiful. Dead Fantasy held my attention and interest for many many years.
And then you made RWBY. You made a fantastic story, with a fantastic plot and amazing songs. You made amazing characters too. I get so many comparisons to Nora, having her upbeat attitude and unwavering loyalty, as well as her feirce desire to protect her friends. When she first appeared and said "Waaaaake up Sleepyhead"... Everybody looked to me. As Nora kept babbling, the looks just intensified. We all laughed and enjoyed the series, though for me Nora and the songs were just the biggest part of it.
One of the lines in the show that always resonated with me was in the song This Will Be The Day. "Victory is in a simple soul." The ways that line can be interpretated... My personal thought is that if you keep yourself as pure and right as possible, you will indeed have victory....
Monty Oum, after all these words, descriptions, and, yes, tears... I really can only say one of the most important things I learned...
Boop.
