Behold the powerful bump! Bump, bump, bumpity bump. So far, we have 1 vote for A and 1 vote for C(Vex). Gimme more votes!
.... What? You want an infobump first? Fine, you greedy dragon cats. *Grumble*Mumble*
Jet: The older brother of Sonia and Eren. He serves as both the village Shaman and Head Hunter, and is extremely adept in both dark and anima magic. He taught his sister, Sonia, everything she knows about magic. However, it is unclear who his teacher was. When he was young, he would often go out into the forest alone, and come back with both animal pelts and newfound knowledge, about everything from astronomy to magic. People speculated he trained under the mythical "Hermit of the Forest", though Jet himself never confirmed or denied this. He is wise beyond his years, but far from perfect. He has an inexplicable darkness in him that can be frightening at times. But even so, he is a good man, who is extremely loyal to his friends and overprotective of his family. He and Vex have been lovers for nearly two years, and were recently betrothed.
Vex: The only daughter of Narshe, and the most prominent archer in Naandia. Her skill with a bow has made her nearly legendary, known even among the other tribes in Cozumel, but her skill set doesn't end there. She is the personal scout of the Head Hunter, and is extremely proficient in stealth, disarming traps, opening locks, wilderness survival, and more. She is also adept at wielding daggers, and a decent Swordswoman. A lot of people in the village joke that she first learned her skills by sneaking into her father's pantry, which is probably true. She is a strong, logical, and fiercely loyal woman, who rarely allows her emotions to get the best of her. Only her betrothed and closest friends know the playful, whimsical side of her. She is Eren's mentor.
Note: This choice is one of several that will directly affect the future of Naandia. There are many, many possible outcomes for the end of this Paralogue, and it is possible for Nagi to leave Cozumel with a new friend and ally, that will permanently join your party alongside her when you recruit her. It is also possible, depending on your choices, that no one joins Nagi, Naandia is destroyed, Nagi becomes a local deity or a local villain, and much, much more. However, that is all I will say. The rest is for you to discover.

...... My phone is so horrible it literally surpasses the realm of impossibility. I tried copying my post, so I wouldn't lose it, and my phone copied GX's username, sig, and trophies instead. Even though I specifically highlighted my post. Now, I'm stuck rewriting the entire update from memory, an update that I've been working on for the past three hours or so. So... Yeah. I'll get the status update for the new characters up tonight, but don't expect a story post until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. Anyway... A is locked.

*Remembers he doesn't have any*

Bump? It's been over a month. Did something happen? Life happened, unfortunately. But don't worry, UB will be back soon.

I'm sorry. Glad to hear it, though! I'm psyched for the coming story, especially since we got new (temp) characters.

Explanation bump. I figure you guys deserve a real explanation as to why UB's been on hiatus for so long(When I've still been posting in RPs), so here it is. A UB post is much, much more complicated than, say, an Austur post. With Austur, I can simply sit down and write whenever I have the time. But with UB, I also have to run the RNG, keep track of characters' stats and equipment, and more. I also want my writing in UB to be perfect, whereas in RPs I'm not that concerned about it.
Overall, one UB post usually takes me several hours, especially if it's really combat heavy. And with everything that's been going on in my life these last few months, I've found it increasingly difficult to find the time to sit down and focus on UB. As much as I love UB and want to prioritize it, there are some things in which I simply don't have a choice. I have to prioritize them, even over UB.
Now, as for UB's return... I can't give you an exact date, but it should be sometime fairly soon. Maybe a few days, maybe a couple weeks. Not sure. But it will be soon. In the meantime though... Let me think of something to tide you guys over with, and bring some life back into this topic.
Hmm... Which would you guys prefer, a small contest where you can create your own weapon, or a series of small posts on some of UB's lore?

That does make sense. I anxiously await its return! I'd prefer lore-posts, especially since there are so many questions to be answered. I'll let be seen if anyone agrees with me.

(Continued)
"I won't turn away help when it's offered," you say, smiling slightly. "Especially not when I need it so desperately. But if you're joining me Jet, I need to know... Can you reign in your desire for vengeance? I've said it before, but this treasure I'm looking for... I have to find it quickly. Lives hang in the balance."
A brief glimmer of uncertainty passes through his eyes, but it fades so quickly it leaves you wondering if you imagined it. Either way, he bows his head. "Worry not. I am not so foolish as to allow my emotions to cloud my judgement. Vengeance means nothing if I throw my life away in the process."
"That's right," Vex agrees quickly, nearly pleading. "Besides, our friends wouldn't want that... I don't want that, Jet. I don't want to lose you too."
His eyes soften at his lover's plea, and you give a wistful smile. Ah, to be so young and so in love... It feels so odd watching them here and now, like I'm looking at a scene from my own past... It feels like everything happened both yesterday and in a different life. I wonder... Did we really look like that? Was it so obvious to everyone else how we felt?
"That's good enough for me," you say, unstrapping your twin spears from your back and brandishing one in each hand. "Lead the way then, and weapons at the ready. I may want to avoid a confrontation with the creature that injured you Jet, but anything else that gets in our way is fair game. Vex, take point. Jet, bring up the rear."
Jet looked like he was about to say something, but instead nodded. He clearly could recognize a voice used to authority and combat when he heard it. Vex steps out in front and begins walking towards the entrance to the volcano, and you fall in behind her, following this young girl you just met right into the depths of hell.
------- The World of Nil, unknown location...
"You killed me," Sonia says softly, torn between anger and tears.
The Shadow- who had introduced himself as Priam a couple hours ago- tenderly shushed her. "Forgive me. It was the only way to sneak you past my Master."
From his place in front of her, Sonia could only see his back, so she couldn't tell if he was truly sorry or not. But that didn't change anything, did it? Even if he was sorry, even if it was the only way to escape, that didn't change what he did.
"You killed me," she accuses again, her voice shaking with emotion and disbelief. How can he be so calm? After what he did... Does he not feel anything?
"How is your sister?" He asks, changing the subject.
Sonia turns slightly to look at the young girl clinging to her side. Eren hadn't said a word since they left the palace, and Sonia was starting to get scared. "How do you think? She's traumatized."
Priam only nods and says nothing more. Sonia bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, hoping the pain would help her regain some composure. It really didn't. She was a mess. Her robes were dirty and disgusting, not to mention torn in several places, and her hair was matted and caked with dirt. Her cheeks were stained with tears, and her eyes were red from crying. Dark circles also lined her eyes, as she hadn't slept in days, her hands were raw and aching, her knees were bruised, and her feet were covered in blisters. Merely standing took considerable effort, and walking hurt like hell. But even so, she grit her teeth and forced herself to put one foot in front of the other. Unless they managed to put more distance between them and the palace by morning, everything would have been for naught.
After escaping the palace via an old underground waterway(In which the water was on the ceiling and the whole place was swarming with giant twelve headed ants and massive shoe-wearing spiders with humanlike faces) Priam guided them into a dense, eery forest of upsidedown clock trees. One got used to the ticking after a while.
"How much farther?" Sonia pants, her aching, cramped body screaming for rest.
"We're almost there," he assures her. "There's a clearing just a little ways ahead. We can rest there for the night."
Is it night? Does this world even have night? For that matter, does it even have morning?
Sonia looks up at the sky in wonder, and is immediately greeted by a thousand and one moons hanging large and full in the sky, each moon slowly but visibly rotating in a different way than the last. Some of the moons had faces, while some were clearly made of cheese, and one was even literally shaped like a corkscrew.
Sonia decided not to ask.

Mount Scar BF3
You're suddenly very glad for your 'skimpy' armor. The heat of the volcano was intense, even for a dragon. The temperature difference between the cavern you were in but moments before and the tunnel you're in now is like night and day. The oppressive heat hung in the air like a cloud, stinging your eyes and making it difficult to breathe.
"Vex, is this tunnel active?" You ask, wiping the sweat from your brow. "Are we in danger of being caught in a lava flow?"
To your immense relief, she shakes her head. "Fortunately, no. And so long as the mountain doesn't wake further, we shouldn't have to worry about any of the other flows being active either. We'll still come across a lot of lava as we go further in, but mostly in the form of pools and lakes. If we're careful, we won't have any trouble avoiding them."
You breathe a sigh of relief, though a couple things still bother you. "You referred to the mountain as if it's alive. Do you mean the Ancestor you came across?"
Vex nods. "Yes. Whatever that thing is... It obviously has total control of the volcano's activity. It's almost like-"
"A shell," Jet interrupts, seemingly lost in thought. "It's almost like the mountain is a protective shell. The closest example I can think of would be a Hermit Crab."
You actually stop walking at that, and turn to him. "You're telling me the largest volcano in the world is actually a giant Hermit Crab? I've seen a great many things in my life Jet, but even I have difficulty believing that."
"Well... Just think about it," he argues. "Why hasn't this creature left the mountain before? A being of its size and power... If it had left the mountain, even if it happened many thousands of years ago, we would know it. There would be some sort of geological footprint- and a big one- and if it occurred while my people lived here, we would have records of it. And yet, we have no such records of a being like that ever existing."
"What about the other tribes on Cozumel?" You counter. "They might have records. And there is a geological footprint: the massive canyon in the center of the island that gives this mountain its name."
Jet concedes your point, but doesn't appear convinced. "But... Why only the one canyon then? If that really is the footprint of this titan... What stopped it that first time? Who, or what, was able to force it back into its shell?"
You have a feeling you actually do know who it was, but you remain silent. You still aren't sure how much to tell these two. Thankfully, Vex saves you from having to think about it, at least for now.
"Alright, alright! Can we please save the oh-so-fascinating biology and history lessons for later? I don't know about you Nagi, but Jet and I can't stay in this heat for too long. This environment isn't exactly the most hospitable."
That's right... Even if you did tell them everything, they can't follow you the whole way. The heart of the volcano will likely be far to hot to sustain human life, now that the volcano is active. What's more, it may even be difficult for you to handle it in your present state... At least in human form. Damn... That's something you hadn't considered, and it might very well throw a wrench in your plan. But there's no turning back now, not when Sonia and Eren's life are on the line.
"Right, let's move. Make sure to keep hydrated, and stay alert. I don't want to have to be the one to tell Sonia and Eren you two fell into a pit of bubbling lava."
Vex grins slightly and tells you not to worry, but Jet gives you an odd look, a look you didn't notice.

The World of Nil, deep within the Clockwork Forest...
Eren was already asleep by the time Priam returned from scouting. Sonia tenderly tucked her into the bed roll and left the tent to meet him. "What did you find?" She asks softly.
"Nothing," he replies, kneeling down in front of the small fire and feeding it another scrap of metal. The flames greedily devoured the scrap, and began dancing higher and burning brighter. Under normal circumstances, Sonia would have questioned it, but she was well past that point by now. Instead she quietly sat down across from him and studied his features. It was the first time she could clearly see him. Under the flickering light of the fire, he was beautiful. There was no denying that. He was almost angelic, and for a full minute, she was mesmerized by the way the shadows played across his face.
"Why are you still here?" She asks finally, looking away from him. "You said you could only guide us to the courtyard, and no farther. Yet here you are. Why continue to help us...?" Sonia gulps. ..To help me?
He doesn't respond for a few minutes, and when he does, his voice is so quiet she can barely hear him. "I don't know. In all honesty, I'm placing you in even more danger by being here. I should leave and never look back."
Yes, you should. So why... Why do I want you to stay?
"What's your name?"
Sonia blinks in surprise. "Pardon?"
"Your name girl," Priam says with a small smile. "That's the one thing you never told me."
"It's Sonia," she answers before she can stop herself.
He nods. "You should rest, Sonia."
Hearing her name on his lips had an odd effect on her, one she couldn't describe. Sonia nodded mechanically and rose to her feet, heading to her own tent. They were only able to sneak two sets of camping gear out of the castle, and Priam had insisted she have the second. But as she unzipped the tent flap, she bit her lip hesitantly and turned back to him. "... What about you? Aren't you coming to bed?"
He shook his head. "No. I will keep watch."
She decided not to argue and entered the tent, though not before whispering, "Thank you. For everything."
Sonia didn't know if he heard her or not. But she had a sinking feeling that when she next woke, he would be gone. And for some reason, that saddened her greatly.
