All Sam could do was sigh and try to apologize for what he said.
"Shalla whatever you think of me fine but don't take it out on Catie," Sam pleaded. "I was angry for getting stabbed then yelled out by a certain dragon," said Sam actually trying to be sincere. "I thought I could get even with Silver and teach her a lesson," said Sam who was now fully aware of what he did and now he was embarrassed. "I thought I was standing up for myself and putting Silver in her place but, I almost made it worse for that poor girl," said Sam who now was extremely upset.
"If you, Serlen, Silver or her dad don't want to talk to me or see me I understand," said Sam who was now defeated. "Please do me one favor and get a chance to know those two kids they had nothing to do with what was going on,". "Those two are like the son and daughter I never had and it would crush them if they missed out on getting to meet wonderful people," said Sam as honestly as he could.
"Sorry wouldn't make it better but please give those two a chance," now Sam was practically begging her.
With that Sam waited for a response. A thought ran through his head "I certainly made a mess of everything I guess I will just retire to my room after she responds,". "I really don't want to see Baron or Silver's dad right now,".
If only he knew how close the group was to his location.

Vincent casually shoves open the massive palace gates, striding into the great hall as if he owned it. Which he did. He set the grocery bags down on the dining table and bids his guests to do the same, just as a certain dragon walks up to him and nuzzles his hand, purring. Vincent smiles and kneels to embrace his dragon, who prefers to remain in dragon form, over human. "Sorry for leaving without saying anything," he says softly. "I didn't want to wake you."
Silver only purrs happily. A few seconds later, his other guests flood into the hall, likely drawn by the smell of food. "I'll have to ask for your patience," he says, showing a rare smile. "It's been a few decades since I last cooked. If there's anything else you would like to do in the meantime, such as exploring the city, now would be the best time to do so."

"Actually, Vincent I have been giving some thought about your 'price' for your knowledge," said Baron. "We could always discuss this during or after dinner whatever is more convenient for you," said sincere Baron. After that Baron heard how Vincent said he would be busy for a bit. In the meantime he decided this would be a good chance to get to know Serlen and Shalla
"Hey Serlen if you don't mind maybe me and you can spar while we are waiting?" asked Baron when the groceries were set down. "I may not be as strong as Vincent but I could provide you a good match," said Baron.
"Also Shalla if you don't mind maybe Catie can hang out with you for a bit?" asked Baron with a hint of curiosity. "Don't worry I will make sure she behaves around you and doesn't do anything rude,". "Besides maybe you can teach her how to be a proper lady like like you so clearly are," said Baron.
Finally, Baron noticed Silver get close to Vince, and he couldn't help but ask about Catie. "Silver did Catie do anything to upset you I know she can be a handful around people she likes?" asked Baron with a hint of concern. "I would hate if she did anything to anger you in your own home that you and Vincent were gracious enough to let us stay for a couple of weeks," "If she did do anything let me know and I give Catie a lesson on respecting people's personal space," said Baron preparing for the worse.
With all that out of the way one question kept running through Baron's head. Where's Sam I thought for sure I heard him talking to Shalla?, thought Baron. Baron was also trying to contemplate what Vincent meant about Sam being a trouble maker.

Silver bites her tongue before saying what she was about to, instead deciding on a gentler approach. "Catie was fine," she says, smiling. "In fact, I think I promised her a tour of the city and some archery lessons. Would you like to go do that now, while father prepares food? You're welcome to come to, Shalla."
------
Vincent ponders the halfblood's words for a long moment. "Now's as good as time as any," he replies finally. "There isn't really much to say. You simply need to prove yourself worthy. How you may do that... I haven't quite decided yet. But I will let you know as soon as I decide."
With that, he returns to sorting and storing away the food he wasn't going to use yet.

Shalla takes a moment to think before replying to Silver, "Of course. I need to explore anyway." She smiles.
--------- Serlen watches the interactions of everyone quietly. He decides he is not hungry and begins his trek outside to improve his swordsmanship.

Baron couldn't believe what Silver said. " Did she just say that?" was the only thing Baron could think after what Silver said. Baron managed to compose himself and told Silver "He would be thankful for anything Silver can teach her,". "Wow I thought I would never see the day Silver and Catie would get along," thought Baron while full of pride.
While Baron was waiting for Serlen's response he addressed Vincent about his response. "I though your price was more of a test to see if I was worthy of this knowledge,". "I look forward to this test whenever you are ready," Baron said with a firm response.
Just then Baron noticed Catie skipping right beside him in a green skirt which was sparkling like an emrald.
"Brother did you here me and Sil are going to hang out and she is going to teach me how to shoot a bow?" said Catie with excitement in her voice. Then she turned to Silver and with a serouis expression on her face said "Ms. Silver I will be well behaved during these lessons with the bow," "Anything to make me a stronger fight not just for me, but for my big brother," said Catie in a rare moment of complete seriousness.
Then old Catie returned after that. "Ready when you are Sil Sil I can't wait to spend sometime with my most favorite dragon ever," said Catie who was so happy.
"I think she is the only dragon you ever known?" Baron just thought with a sigh. The only person who wasn't present was Sam. "What's gotten into the cat?" thought a confused Baron. He's a familiar so he can't get sick maybe he's just exhausted and went to sleep thought Baron reassuring himself.
Just then Baron noticed Serlen leave the room. "One way or another me and him are going to spar whether he likes it or not," thought Baron chasing after Serlen.
Meanwhile in Sam and Baron's room
"Sorry son but I did something I am not proud of I really just want to be alone for now," said Sam while he was trying his best to fall asleep in the room.

Silver gave a small sigh of relief, as she led the other two girls out into the city. She loved her father dearly, but it felt nice to be around other females for once. "So, who's up for some archery lessons?" She asks cheerfully. "Shalla, you ever shot a bow before?"

"Man I wanted to go first," thought Catie with a sigh. "Oh well can't hurt to wait besides never saw a bow before," thought Catie with some reluctance. "Good luck Shalla!" called out Catie as the lessons began.
Baron managed to catch up to where Serlen was. So the prince thinks he too good to talk to me or spar with me let's see how he likes this move," was what Baron was thinking. So Baron began to concentrate a little bit of wind magic around his open palm. Before Serlen realized what happened Baron was uponed him hitting right in the gut with that ball of wind magic. When Serlen stumbled to his feet Baron gave him a piece of his mind.
"Out with it now 'prince' "said Baron with a hint of frustration. "Everytime I tried to have a talk or conversation you dodge me,". "Is it because I am a vampire you think you are too good?". "I just want to know where you are from?, what's belongia is like?, what's your deal?, and can you even use magic? " was Baron could say to Serlen very annoy. "I didn't want to have to be like this but you seem to avoid me and you even seem to be afraid of me," Baron said with a mixture of frustration, annoyance, and a tiny bit of sorrow.
"Now grab that thing you call a sword and get go your feet we are going to spar whether you like it or not prince, king, emporer, or whoever the heck you are," said Baron very upset.

Serlen stumbles to his feet with the help of Alyrun, his family's ancestral sword. He can feel cold rage course through his bones, as his eyes snap up like icicles. "You base this on mere assumptions? And then you strike me when I am not looking?!" The Prince growled. He was beyond furious, not even his allies back home would strike each other with such a cowardly move. "You wish to spar? Come at me." He demanded coldly.

"Mere assumptions are one thing, continued evidence is another boy," said Baron very coldly. "I tried to talk and you blew me off," said Baron very annoyed. "I just waived at you back in the forest and that disgusting look on your dam fdace like you saw a ghost," said Baron now fuming. When we got back, I even asked you for a friendly spar and what happened you ran out of the room without even a word towards me," growled Baron.
"I did what I had to do to get your attention you little dastard," said Baron. "Before we begin my liege," said Barron very sarcastically. "How bout we make a little wager?" taunted Baron. "The loser has to do what the winner says for the next two weeks unless you are scared little boy," said Baron while tauting Serlen.
Before Baron could get an answer Serlen was making the first move. "So you want to play like that boy'" thought Baron annoyed while sidestepping the first swipe.
I guess its time I show you my twin blades Baron said to the recovering Serlen. First Baron pulled out a blade with hilt showed an ancient fire demon and the blade has flames which was depicting the very sight of an inferno. "Meet my first blade Ifrit," said Baron. Serlen then went for a third blow which Baron effortlessly parried. Baron pulled out his second blade which had the hilt depicting the picture of an old man holding a staff and as the blade was revealed lighting was running down depicting the very sight of a fierce storm. "Meet my second blade Ramuh," said Baron. "Do we have a deal or am I wasting my time with a scared little boy?" said Baron in a condensending tone.

Silver noticed a slightly concerned look on Shalla's face, as the two macho men had their contest back near the gate, and smiled. "Don't worry. Boys will be boys. If it gets out of hand, my father will stop it."
Unfortunately, that only seemed to make the girl worry more, though she was obviously trying to conceal it. Catie didn't even notice, she was too busy examining the wooden practice bow Silver had just given her. "Here, let me show you how to string the bow," she says kindly.

"Those blades won't help you!"Serlen roared. And Alyrun glowed slightly. The ancient words on the blade lit up and the swords's appearance changed lightly. It was no longer a rapier looking blade, but a long sword bordering on broadsword. With one strike he slamme irritated into the ground and grabbed ramuh. Serlen put all his force into his left foot and smashed it into Barons face.
He jumped back, slightly annoyed. ------
"I'm not to worried, now where do we start?" Shalla asked, picking up another bow.

"I see this is going to be fun after all," said Baron with a grin.
Suddenly, Baron got smashed upside his head by Baron's foot. The force of the kick caused Baron to stumble back. "Nice one prince, but you haven't seen what I am capable of," said Baron.
Baron noticed Ramuh was still sruck in the ground but still Serlen left it unattended. "I am afraid that move will cost him but first let me show him a move of my own," thought Baron to himself.
So Baron concentrated his energy towards his speed and before Serlen knew it Baron delivered a vicious upper cut to Serlen.
While Serlen was in the air Baron leapted off the ground and delivered a spinning heel kick to Serlen's gut.
With Serlen recovering Baron took Ramuh off the ground. "That light show was nice but now it's my turn to show you the power of Ramuh," said Baron as a light wind began to envelope Ramuh.
Meanwhile...
"So how do you use this thing?" thought a confused Catie.
When Silver came over in a kind manner and showed her what to do. "Thank your for your help Sil," said Catie slightly embarrassed. "I am afraid I have little to no experience with a bow," said Catie.
While Silver was showing Catie how to use a bow Catie began to thought. "When I see Sam he's going to get the biggest hug ever, thank you for your advice on cheering up Silver," thought a very happy Catie.

Serlen rolled to the ground and shrugged. He flicked his wrist and watched as a wire pulled Baron upside down, making him drop his two swords. The vampire was now hanging upside down from a tree. Serlen picked them up and impaled them inside of a tree out of Baron's reach.
"Don't ever think an enemy doesn't have something planned. A word of advice, less flashy moves and more paying attentions to your surroundings. I set that up a few minutes before you came running through. I was hoping to catch an animal, but I caught a vampire instead." Serlen replied, lightly amused.

Here I thought you were about honor nice to see you are not that naive, but did you forget about the wind surrounding Ramuh," said Baron. "You need to learn how to pay better attention yourself Serlen," said Baron hanging upside down. With that Baron concentrated his mana through the tree and what started as a light wind turned to a might gust blowing Serlen off his feet.
Good thing I have a trick to get this wire off as Baron began to concentrate a little bit of fire to cut the wire off.
"I have to be careful getting close to my limit," thought Baron. At least I have one more surprise for him. So Baron grabbed his swords from the tree and with Serlen getting back to his feet Baron walked over to him and used this blades to remove Serlen's sword from him.
Now let me show you another move Barron took the wire that was used to tie him up. Then Baron preceded to tied up Serlen so he couldn't escape. "Just because you set up this trap to begin with doesn't mean I can't use this against you," said Baron while Serlen was struggling in his own wire. "This is my most powerful punching technique," said Baron as he cauked back his fist with flames surrounding him. You should be honored you got a chance to witness this move for someone so young, punch of a thousand falcons," as Baron's last words as Serlen went flying from the impact.

Serlen landed against a tree an slid down. He chuckled, which soon turned into full blown laughter. "You really shouldn't have done that." He replied to Baron. "Jomei Ellen." He whispered.
Alyrun began to glow and heat up and with a small flash of light fired a beam point blank at Baron. "Seals were placed on this sword to prevent anyone, but House Chryses to wield it. The seals etched on the blade sensor the users life force and determine if they are of the blood. Ardlin was one of the best sealers to ever walk Begonia. You wanted a history session so you got it. I'm not trying to be smug, but I haven't even unleashed my final attack with Alyrun." Serlen explained. In a flash Alyrun was back into his hands, already finished with cutting the wire.
He stood up and resumed his normal position, "if you still wish to fight, then strike." He replied lazily.

Unbeknownst to the hotheads, back inside the palace, a certain reluctant chef was beginning to get very annoyed.
-------
"We start with the basics," Silver replies, smiling. "You might not realize this, but using a bow is a lot of work. It can be quite tough stringing and notching a bow, especially at real battle speeds, and it requires a particular set of muscles. I've actually seen men with the strength to wield a Greatsword unable to string a normal Longbow. But you can't keep the bow always strung either, as the pressure would eventually snap the bow. So, before you can actually shoot, you have to learn how to properly string the bow first."
As Silver slowly strings her own bow, to use as an example, she grins slightly. "Who knows? Maybe you two will become good enough so we can have an Archery Tournament."

Shalla is the first to attempt to notch a bow. "Like this?" She pointed curiously.
