Pearl's heart began beating faster as Arcturus' lips brushed against the back of her hand. Now snapped out of her trance she cheerily ask him, "What's going on master? Is this also a part of your customs?"

"You'll see." Arcturus told her as he brought out his other hand and opened it, revealing a three jeweled ring.
The ring itself looked to be of an extraordinary value, with its golden scrollwork engraving and sparkling gems. The two jewels on the side were dazzling aquamarines while the one in the center was a brilliantly pure crystal clear diamond. It must have been very old, as its stylization was completely unfamiliar to Arcturus, but it still stirred a kind of beauty within the heart.

"Pearl," he asked as he looked up and smiled while presenting the ring to the nymph. "I've been meaning to ask you this for quite some time. I know I've only been with you for a month, but it has been an eternity of joy. I would like to be with you for the rest of my days, even though you are sure to outlive me. So take this ring, and be mine. Pearl, will you marry me?"

"Oh Arcturus, of course I will!" She allows him to slide the ring on her finger, before falling to her knees and hugging him. "I'll always be yours ma- Arcturus. No one can ever replace you in my heart. I love you." She kept repeating that phrase. She told him 'I love you' as long as he held her.

Arcturus held Pearl tightly as long as humanly possible before suddenly standing up and carrying Pearl across his arms before nuzzling his face against hers.
"When do you think we should have our wedding?" he asked as he rubbed his nose against hers.

"Soon." She began kissing him several times. "Very soon. Maybe even within the month.
But what about your grandfather? I thought he was against human/psuedo-human marriages. Because of that law." She still looks at him with a bright smile and hopeful eyes.

"Who says he'll know?" Arcturus teased as he set her back on her feet and placed a finger on her nose. "Actually, we could have it here. I don't even know if I'll be welcome back anytime soon, so that might not be an option though. However, maybe, just maybe, we could have it this week. Elia could be our witness, and we'll be married before 'you become like a werewolf in heat' as your sister so eloquently put."

"You can finish the ceremony before tonight?" Jet walks in with a giant woven basket on her back filled with freshly washed clothes. Pearl sticks her tongue out at Jet who sheepishly smiles. "Well what do you expect to happen with the 'firefly's energy? It's gonna make you howl for your hubby." Rhea then suddenly remembers something and places the smooth stone bracelet from the small black box on Pearl's wrist. "Don't take this off the rest of day. I'm gonna go see Alucard for a few minutes in the sanctum at the top of the library. Then I'll be right back to watch you." Mist covers Rhea before she disappears Pearl hugs Arcturus, "I like the idea of getting married now."

"I like it too." Arcturus replied as he hugged Pearl back. "You see, to some, it's just a sort of thing that you do. However, to me, it's a contract, a covenant. It's a way of saying you will never betray the person you are marrying, and that you will love them no matter what. This is also why I hate the idea of polygamy. You can't spread that kind of true, undying love with multiple people. It's disrespectful and hurtful to your partner to do so too. Anyways, we're going to need a priest of some sort. That, or Alucard can wed us as lord and master of this domain. I can't imagine him in a frock though."

Jet speaks up at the same time as Love, "Lady Elia is in the private bathhouse on the ninth floor if you're looking for her." They give each other an odd look before turning back to their task. Alucard and Rhea come from down the stairs. He smiles at Arcturus then observes Pearl's ring curiously for a moment. He temporarily pushes the thought aside, "So I heard you two need someone to sanction your union. Well as lord of this realm, I can happily oblige, but I must ask, does the groom have any witnesses, friends or family present?"

After some time Elia woke up, and after realizing that she had fallen asleep, she rushed to dry off and get dressed. The clothes were...strange, by her standards anyway. The shirt had no sleeves, a lower neckline, and was purple. She took a deep breath and put it on anyway, and was immediately aware of how tight it was.
I should respect that they're kind enough to bring me clean clothes, but...
The pants were relatively normal, thankfully. And even though Elia didn't really care for the style of the outfit, once she was wearing it, it wasn't too bad or too scandalous. She then left the bathhouse and decided to go to the dining hall, where she saw what appeared to be Arcturus proposing to Pearl. She stayed outside, watching from the doorway, so she didn't intrude or anything.
Even though Cleatian laws forbid their marriage, they aren't letting that get in the way of their love for each other. It's so sweet.

"Very well." Alucard answered. He turned to the girl peaking over the doorway, "Then will you bear witness for Arcturus as Pearl's sisters will for her, Lady Elia?"
"We have about 20 of them along with 50 public ones. Everyone here likes to keep clean"

You know, it isn't very comforting knowing you can hear my thoughts and see through my eyes on a whim. Could I send out like some sort of, uh, warning, when Pearl and I want a bit of, privacy?
"Thank you, Elia." Arcturus nodded at her as she entered the hall. "And thank you for the ring. It was too beautiful to pawn it off, and it was the perfect fit for Pearl."

"It was the only way I could think of at the time to express my gratitude. I'm glad that your father let you have it, it's perfect for Pearl. And it's not like I bought it anyway, so it didn't cost me anything."
Elia walked over to Pearl and looked at the ring, which really did fit her finger perfectly. She hugged Pearl and smiled.
"Pearl, I'm so happy for both of you. But..." Elia's tone showed that she was just teasing, "you better be good to my nephew, or else! And Arcturus better be good to you!"
They're so madly in love, I know they'll be good to each other.

"Elia, you do know that I'm older than you, right?" Arcturus asked her with a slight roll of the eyes. "Sure, I was born fifteen years ago, but I'm seventeen years old. It's what happens when you speed up your own relative time to catch naps inbetween classes."
It could also be used for other things.

Alucard takes Pearl's hand and examines the ring. He looks toward Elia who had just finished embracing her. "Where did you find this lady Elia?"
Pearl just now examines the ring. She hugs Elia back. "Wow, it's so pretty! The design in lovely. Thank you Elia, and I promise to be good to Arcturus, unless he prefers me naughty." She bats her eyelashes towards him.
