"It's gorgeous," Silver breathes, reaching out to gently run her hand along the smooth fabric. "It really is. I can just picture it now. You'll look so beautiful in it."
She suddenly grins, a wide, playful grin, and turns to Elia. "And I know dad is going to love it. Although, honestly, I'm pretty sure he'd love you in anything, so there's that."
She looks back at the dress, suddenly a bit sheepish. "So, how did you two meet anyway? He doesn't usually tend to stray too far from Gorgath."
-------------
Vincent came back to an empty hall. However, it only took some simple deduction for him to discern Elia was most likely showing Silver her dress. He did want to see the dress himself... But that could wait. Elia and Silver needed some time to themselves.
Instead, he walked up to his throne, mumbled a word of power under his breath, and descended the stairs into the Hall of Memories. He left the way open behind him, to signal where he was.

"I met him while I was fleeing Cleatia. Jet was helping me escape, and when were near the borders... That's when we met. By then end of the day, he had decided to teach me, and allow me to hide away in Gorgath, far from my pursuers. I was an emotional wreck at that time, and he was very distant, but somehow... we grew close. And then while travelling I told him that I loved him. When we returned to Gorgath, we began to plan for our marriage, and here we are..." she said.

"Ahh so your coming," Baron said to Shalla. "Just out of curiosity, what changed your mind?" Baron asked Shalla.

Shalla tapped her staff against the wood, gaining a shy look. "Don't laugh okay, but I realized I had friends, and that I didn't want to hold them back. Back home, it was hard making friends because I was an orphan, and my parents were pretty much unknown. Even a village has a hierarchy, and I mostly spent my time around the church like the other orphans. We'd play games like tag and hide. I just got special because of my powers... So if I'm going to live my life, I might as well be useful to someone. Even if I'm not useful to myself..." Shalla trailed off with a thin smile.
All that she said was true, and she hoped that sufficed for her conviction. Or maybe she was being a blatant fool for her trust. Being a trusting orphan never got you anything but a knife in the back and a place with the gods.

Silver nodded, seemingly lost in thought. "It's funny how life works sometimes, isn't it? Does it ever make you wonder if there's something bigger? Something that's always planning, guiding you. I guess you could call it fate, but... I'm not sure. I think it's something else, something different. I asked dad about it a long time ago, to see if he knew, and he told me something interesting. He said the gods are merely caretakers. They aren't the puppet masters. I asked him what he meant, and he gave me this."
She withdrew an old pocketbook from a pocket in her leggings. The pages were small, but around a thousand in total, if not more, and the binding was a rich brown leather. The book was kept shut by a brown strap with a gold clasp in the shape of a leaf. It was obvious how old the book was, but also how much love and care had gone into it, both in the making and safekeeping of it. Silver handed the book to Elia, almost reverently.
"This is my father's notes on everything he's learned over his long life. The nature of the world, humanity, magick, his view on everything... In a way, I guess you could call this his soul. He's long since stopped keeping notes, but this is still very much how he sees everything.... He gave this to me for safekeeping some time ago, but I think you should have it. Most of the stuff in here I still can't understand, but you Elia... You might be able to decipher it. I know you'll take good care of it, just as you'll take good care of him."

"Silver... This is..."
Elia carefully took the book into her hands, and stared at it for a moment. Then, without any warning, she pulled Silver into an embrace. "This is a wonderful gift. You've given me something that will allow me to understand him even better, on a deeper level. Something that will draw me closer to him. I can't explain in words just how grateful I am for this."
With Vincent's notes in hand, she sat down on the bed, where her dress sat beside her. She now had two things to do while preparing for her wedding; to finish the dress, and decide what she would give to Vincent at the ceremony, and that had given her ideas for both.
"Do you think you could help me with something? I want to finish the gown and a few other things as soon as I can. So... if I can work on one thing for now, could you help me by running to the village down by the mountain and getting the supplies I need to finish my dress? If you don't mind, that is."

"Of course," Silver answered happily. "Dragons happen to be the best errand girls, you know. Fastest too. What do you need?"

"I would like some white fabric of some sort and gold colored thread to make ribbons with, and to finish the bodice of the dress. But if you also don't mind me asking... Could you check to see if you can find some sort of charms in gold, maybe in the shape of a leaf like the clasp on this book? Or maybe just something that would give the dress a little extra shine that's not gold. Something with a bright color. Anything that I could sew onto the dress or ribbons would work wonderfully," Elia said. "But it doesn't have to be expensive, just as long as it look nice. I know your father would spare no expense for this occasion, but I'm not quite comfortable spending his money on something if I could accomplish the same effect with something much cheaper."

"Looks like me and you have a lot more in common then we thought," Baron mused. "Whether it was the fact you were an orphan or half breed, people still found a way to try and single out those that are different," Baron told Shalla. "Yet look how everything turned out for us," Baron said.
As Baron and Shalla were done talking Catie came to the porch her pink hair tied in a ponytail, her locket worn around her neck right next to the beast stone. Catie was wearing a teal dress shirt with a short skirt, and long leather boots. "I was hoping to see you alone when I woke up, but no you picked the one time to wake up early," Catie chided Baron. "Well Shallay are you coming with us?" Catie asked as her tail began to wag in anticipation for the answer.
"Yeah she said she would come with us," Baron said to the extremely happy Catie.
"Yay," Catie squealed as she pleased Shalla in a bear hug.
"Umm well I guess that's all of us," Baron said.
"Not exactly, we still have to wait for Serlen," Sam said.
"Oh right," Baron said sheepishly.
"Besides before we leave I want to head to the inn, might as eat and exchange info about this King person maybe any thing he has a chance to remember anything he might have forgot," Sam said.
"Good point," Baron said while everyone was waiting for Serlen to appear.

"Sure," Silver answers, beaming. "I'll head down right now. Be back in a jiffy!"
Before Elia could say anything else, Silver dashed out of the room like a hyperactive dragon with too much energy on her hands, leaving a blazing trail in her wake. She took off downstairs, shouted a quick "Be right back" at her father, dashed out the front doors, and took to the skies in a flash of light.
A very excited roar of a very happy dragon echoed throughout the city.

"Alright then," Barron said as he clutched the key in his hands and the letter he kept close to him.
The group headed towards the inn where they planned to enjoy one last meal before the big meeting.
Along the way they appeared to bump into a lady in her mid 30's, tall and appeared from the Alibab nation.
"Sorry miss you okay?" Baron asked the stranger he bumped into.

Talia finishes her breakfast, savoring the ale. She thanks the innkeeper profusely. She turns back to wave as she steps out of the front door instead of watching where she's going. She slams right into a young man in a wide-brimmed hat.
"Sorry miss you okay?" the stranger asked her.
Talia gives him a smile. "Of course! That was just little... love tap?" She giggles mischievously at him as she steps aside to let his group by.

"The girls do not fall for you?" Talia asks. "I can not imagine why. Give it some time, you will grow into your attractiveness," she assures the teenager.
No waiting for a response, Talia slips to the side and begins to stroll casually down the street. "Bounty hunters, bounty, hmm..." Talia thinks to herself. "That certainly explains some things. Those 4 stood out way too much in this village. Perhaps it would be worth following them..."

"See Serlen one day the girls will fall for you, all you have to do is Bolieve," Baron said and chuckled at his own inside joke.
"Hmmm," Catie said sniffing the air.
"What's the matter, Catie?" Sam asked.
"Oh nothing I just thought I felt something strange," Catie said.
Baron order some breakfast for him and his friends as they took a seat.
"So Serlen have you had any time to think of any new info about the Black king?" Baron asked

Talia dips into a small space between two buildings. After making sure no one is watching, she focuses her magic to alter her appearance. Her skin lightens to a creamy peach color, while her black hair appears to recede into her skull. It is quickly replaced with a short, blond cut. Her chest shrinks, her features become more masculine, and she grows bulkier. She changes the cut of her clothing to match her body's change. Finally, she enlarges her short cape, expanding it into a flowing black cloak. Where once stood a woman of Alibab now stands a pale, blond man.
Talia exits the alley, strolling back up the street, ignoring the glances she receives. She stops in front of the inn to clear her throat, making sure to deepen her voice slightly, though still keeping it on the effeminate side. She pushes open the door and walks in, confidently marching straight to the innkeeper. "Hello," she says pleasantly in her disguised voice. "I'd like some fresh vegetables and a pint of ale, if you please." She reaches into a pouch and pulls out a handful of Cleatian money.
"...Right," the innkeeper tells her. "Just a minute."
Talia moves to take a seat under the window with a clear view of the group of strangers.

"Hmm I am courouis about one thing though?" Baron asked Serlen. "What was he like before he became a vigilante, was he somebody who watched his parents die right in front of him?" Baron asked. "Was he somebody just fed up with the law and decided to take the law into his own hands?" Baron asked. "Just wanted to see if we know any info on his background, seeing if there is anything in his past that may indicate his next move or what he is going to do next," Baron concluded.
While Baron was pelting Serlen with questions Sam noticed that Catie took a few seconds to sniff the air. "There's that scent again why does it smell so familiar?" Catie wondered out loud.
"Probably, because we are in a pub, and your smelling the food and stuff," Sam said to Catie.
"Yeah your probably right, Catie said as she went back to eating.

And to think that I was worried that she would be unhappy with this news. I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm delighted that she's so eager to help. I think I'll ask to assist with finishing my dress. And if she'll stay long enough for the wedding, I'll see if she'll allow me to make her something nice to wear to the ceremony as well. I'm not sure what guests normally wear to Shiryuan weddings, but I'm sure it's not all that different than what I'm used to. I think Silver just really wants to be part of a fairytale wedding, so whatever I make for her to wear has to match up to that dream.
While Silver was happily running errands to pick up the materials Elia went back downstairs and into the main hall. Finding the way to the Hall of Memories open, she entered in order to find Vincent, intending to ask how the preparations for the ceremony were going.

Vincent was looking at the newest mural, the one of him and Elia, when she walked up beside him. He smiled at his fiance, and reached over to gently caress her cheek. "How is the dress coming, Yekiri?" He asks, the affection and love in his voice as clear as day.

"'Scent?'" Talia thinks to herself. She looks more closely at the one who keeps sniffing the air. "Oh, do not tell me that one has heightened senses. Such a pain... I could create an illusory scent, but that's such a waste of mana. Much easier to use mundane methods."
Talia sits calmly, not showing a reaction to their conversation. She waits until the innkeeper comes to bring her ale, then Talia suddenly distorts his perception, tilting his vision several degrees. The man stumbles, and Talia jumps up to catch him, making sure to knock the pint all over herself.
"Oh! I'm... so sorry, sir, I dunno what came over me," the innkeeper tells her.
"It is no problem," Talia tells him. "You are OK, right?"
"Yes, fine, I think..." the innkeeper says hesitantly. "I'll run fetch you a fresh pint."
Talia pats him on the back as he goes. She returns to her seat, reeking of alcohol. "Let us see if that masks my scent well enough..."

"Okay then, so any last minute info or prep need to be done?" Baron asked everyone.
"As soon as we are ready to leave, I will lead you guys to our next destination," Sam said.
Catie while eating her plate had a confused look on her face. "Huh that scent went away," Catie said almost disappointed. "Oh hey Shally yeah I thought I picked up a familiar scent but it was probably, just my imagination," Catie said as she returned to eating.
Catie's, tail began to unwind it's self almost sencing Catie's disappointment. Catie's tail finally unwinded it self as it appeared to be a fluffy tail.
