Dunno what a Lich is, but I'll just Type-3 it if push comes to shove.
"I'll do what I can", Irving replied bluntly.
Don't even think of complainin' about 'putting her in harms way' like I don't know how to aim, though.

"I doubt this lich is as strong as the last one I fought. And on the bright side, my magick will be very useful offensively. But I'll be careful anyway. It is better to err on the side of caution," she said.

Maybe so... But the strength of his magic isn't what I'm really worried about...
"Once we're inside, keep an eye out for traps," Vincent advises, as he cloaks the three of them in darkness. He adds a separate illusion spell to each of them, designed to make it exceedingly difficult for anyone without it to look directly at them, which should help make up for not being able to shadow travel.
"We can't shadow travel if a Lich is present, as he'll most likely be able to sense it, so this will have to do. I'll strengthen the illusion, and add another, once we're inside and prepared to engage the enemy. I can see perfectly fine in the dark, so make sure you both stay close. Now, are we all set? Right. Let's make this quick."
Vincent takes point, leading the other two out of the cave and towards the fort. Elia had been correct in her initial assessment of the valley, in that once the Sun went down, it would be pitch black. Vincent kept a close watch on everything as they silently crept towards the front gate, keeping track of the fort, his companions, and his spells all simultaneously. Vincent unlocked the gate with a key he had taken from the relief guard he had knocked out earlier, and once he made sure the way was clear, he guided them inside, quietly locking the door behind them. He had a feeling they weren't going to be leaving the way they came, anyway.
Again, Elia's assessment proved true. The inside of the fort was almost as dark as outside, and what little light there was, was provided by only a couple dimly burning torches scattered across the ancient entrance hall. The hall itself was very large and eerily silent. The only sound came from the flickering of the torches, which were apparently lit by magick. Nothing moved, and Vincent didn't sense any nearby life energies.
Four hallways branched off to the sides, and another at the far back. A second floor balcony overlooked the entrance hall, as was common in old Dwarven architecture, but there was no clear way of getting to it. The bandits who run the place and lived there didn't seem too fond of cleaning, Vincent notes with disgust, looking at the rubble and broken pottery lining the floor. The entire fort seemed overgrown with cobwebs and dust.
Vincent guides his companions into the north hall, which turns to the right and opens into a large chapel after a few feet. Unlike the rest of the fort, the chapel was as immaculate as a monk's study. The floors were white marble and painted with beautifully detailed murals, which were mirrored on the high domed ceiling. Rows upon rows of stone benches stood on either side of the chapel, with the area in between leading up to a stone dais, covered in a crimson red cloth. Behind the dais was an even grander mural, and a wall of text in a language Vincent immediately recognised as ancient Shiryuan. He involuntarily flinched, as his worst fears were confirmed.
At least... I don't have to worry about her hating me anymore. But still... I didn't want her to find out like this...
He turns to his companions. "I think this might be our best bet," he says quietly. "It's a bit large, but there are only two entrances and plenty of defensive positions. What do you want to do? Make our stand here, or look for a narrower hallway?"

(Wonder if I still remember how to do this RP with fury)
For some time now the nature of our separation has given me cause to feel a great deal of insurmountable grievances. I know I only have myself to blame; I don't expect your forgiveness. However, I would still like to take the time to make a formal apology. I'm truly sorry. My actions were selfish, petty and needlessly cruel. I have limited means to convey my sincerity through this letter, but that is the honest truth of the matter. I was trying to force a life change you didn't need out of some half baked premise that it would make your life better. Maybe part of me did believe that. More than that though, I was frightened. I've lost loved ones before. But I guess by acting on fear, I only made my fears come to fruition.
I'm not the best with words, but damn it if I don't try to say what's on my mind! I still love you Mare Bear. You were one of the few real things in my life. Something tangible to hold on to. You weren't some ethereal being that could only be described by a poet with a bunch of fancy metaphors, but you were beautiful. You weren't an everloving spirit of kindness that could do no wrong, but you were nice. A breath of fresh air in my twisted fantasy of a life.
If you've read this far, then that's enough. A simple acknowledgement is all the closure I need. You can send Sam back with whatever you like. But if you're willing to go a little further, then take this key, follow Sam and we can be together again. This time, I'll accept your choice.
Eternally Yours, Helel.
P.S. - Sorry about breaking your bed all those years back, but at least we found that Inn afterwards.

"So barr Barr what does it say?" Catie asked Innocently. "Its its about my da da dad and how he wanted my," Baron had a hard time finishing his thoughts. "All this time we could been a fam fam family," Baron stammered out between the tears flowing down his face. "Baron its okay," Catie said as she went to go embrace her love. "Why Sam why?" Baron choked out as he was now on the floor and tears running down his face.
"Sigh Baron no words or explanation can ever make up for what happened," Sam said sheepishly in the corner. "Sam he loved her, he wanted her to live with him and they could have been," Baron said to Sam in a voice that sounded like a mix of anger and sorrow. "All I can do now is lead you to him," Sam said. "Let me know when you are ready to leave son," Sam tried to comfort Baron. "How dare you called me son, you you you good for nothing cat," Baron lashed out as he was now fully in Catie's embrace just a wreck. "Baron you shouldn't say such a thing," Catie told Baron in a soothing matter. " No its fine my dear, I just need to go outside and get some fresh air," Sam said as he went outside. Sam left the two alone as Catie continued to try and comfort Baron who at this point was washed with so much emotion at once.

"Might as well stay here. But do we draw them out, or just wait and let them come to us?" she asked.

"The end result will be the same either way," Vincent says, taking another good look around. "But I'd say, from what I can see and sense, that most of the bandits are asleep. They likely rely on a few highly trained sentries to raise the alarm, and that's it, just on the off chance that someone comes bumbling into the valley. They probably also have a curfew. If we force them to come to us now, there's a good chance the majority of them will be groggy and slow to react. That will only make our job that much easier. And I don't like the idea of waiting too long... It's possible the Lich could sense my magic, if I keep it active for too long."
He turns to Irving. "Unfortunately, that also means what offensive magick I can use will be limited. I hate to rely on someone I barely know, but as I will be relying on you, I'd like your input. What do you think?"

"Why couldn't I find that f****** letter sooner?" Baron said as he pounded the floor. "Baron can I say something?" Catie told Baron in a soothing and sweet matter. "Maybe it was fate, and you weren't meant to find the letter til now," Catie told Baron. "What do you...?" Baron was about to ask when Catie pulled him tighter into her embrace. "Do you remember everything we been through Barr?" Catie told Baron.
"Well yeah all the times me, you, and Sam had together were priceless," Baron said as his tears starting to dry up. "All the good times we had, the bad times, and all the special memories we had, its one of the reasons why I wanted to marry you," Baron said. "Now just think if those moments and memories never happened," Catie said to Baron. "Who knows where I would be or what I would be?" Catie told Baron staring into his eyes. "You know its bad when Catie is starting to make sense," Van chimed in. "I don't even know if I would still be alive if my knight in shining armor never saved me," Catie said with a smirk on her face. "Please I am no knight, just somebody who's always stickingVan's nose in other peoples business," Baron sighed. "Okay so your armor doesn't shine, and you may not ever be a knight but I still love you," Catie said to her Baron bear. "Also who knows how you might have turned out?" Catie told Baron. "True part of the reason I traveled so much was to explore the world, something I always wanted to do," Baron said remencing. "Now imagine if that never happen," Catie told Barron. "Your right...who are you and what did you do to Catie," Barron playfully teased Catie. "How rude," Catie said punching Barron. "Your going to pay for that," Barron said pulling Catie into a long and passionate kiss.
After the two were done sharing their kiss Catie pulled away real quickly and was teasing Baron to come get her. "What was that about?" Baron huffed. "Come and find me," Catie taunted Baron. "Sigh," Baron said as he pulled himself off the ground. "Catie where are you at?" Baron said while calling out for Catie. "I am someplace you should be really familiar with," Catie playfully taunted Baron.
"Geez I wonder where that may be," Baron said as he opened the door to his old bedroom. "I knew you would find me," Catie said as she wrapped her arms around Baron. "Well there was either my room or my mothers bedroom, I was just hoping you were here," Baron said as he pulled Catie towards his body. "Well you have a hot chick in your room, and you are all alone, just me and you," Catie said while staring at Baron with a mischievous grin. "Yeah your right, I can think of a few things as Baron returned her glare with a mischievous grin.
Catie and Baron just stood there what felt like an entirnity but was only a couple of moments before the two began locking lips. "So Baron are you sure your not going to faint this time around," Catie chided Baron. "Hey you should of warned me before you were going to come out," Baron told Catie. "I mean it this time, you faint when you see me naked I am going to get a divorce," Catie told Baron very calm as she began to unhock her dress. "Hey that's unfair," Baron said playfully as he and Catie started kissing. "Besides I learned a few things from a certain person in my dreams," Baron whispered to Catie. "I am dead serouis about the fainting though," Catie said as her dress and all of her other cloths hit the floor and Baron closed the door to his room for some privacy.
"To think the girl I ended up saving way back when would be the girl I would share such a special moment now," Baron said as the screen panned out to show the sun setting. "Fate has a funny way of working, so many what ifs, so many things that almost had to break perfectly, because if it wasn't for Sam losing that seal, who knows how these two might of turned out," Van's word echo's inside Baron's head
Meanwhile dood ---------------------------------------
"Sigh can't blame him," Sam lamented. "Can only imagine all those emotions, feelings, memories hitting him at once," Sam said as he wandered around the town. "All I can do now is just wait until hes feeling better until I try talking to him," Sam sighed.
While Sam was wandering around town, he spotted a couple of people towards the entrance. "It can't vbe those two can it?" Sam thought. "Why I know the young lady seems familiar Shalla and the youth he seems really familiar," Sam said. "Hey Shalla and Serlen," Sam called out making his way towards them.

"I'm fine with stayin' here and drawing them out, seein' as my weapon makes noise anyway and I'd be stuck with just my machete otherwise", said Irving. "Thing is though, my weapon can fire eight times before I have to add more ammunition, which might leave just enough time for a group of reckless bandits chargin' with axes in hand to 'close the gap', as they say. I'm not turning down help keeping 'em away during that short moment when I'm reloadin'."
Let's see, I should probably have Types seven, six, and five ready to switch in on the fly, two if there's one in particular that's a problem, maybe one if one of 'em knows magick. Wanna save four and three for later.

"Why yes well no, that's besides the point," Sam stammered out. "Surprise that you forgot about me, people usually don't forget about a talking cat," Sam said sorta of disappointed. "Then again it has been a while since I saw both you and Serlen back at Vincent's hideout," Sam said deep in though.
"Allow me to reintroduce myself," Jay-Z Sam said. "My name is Sam I am a familiar summoned by lord Hel.... Baron's dad to watch over Baron. " By the way last I saw you guys weren't you off traveling somewheres, you kinda of left without a good bye or anything, " Sam said curiously

"Don't worry," Vincent assures Irving. "I won't be too occupied to fight at all. If anyone gets too close, I'll deal with them."
He turns to Elia, and they share a meaningful look. Be careful, and remember all I've taught you. And if things get too hairy, don't hesitate to summon your true powers. Remember Elia, they are YOUR powers. They belong to you, and you alone. Your fate is yours to mold, and no one else's.
He then turns towards the hallway opposite of the one they came in from. "The largest source of life I sense is down that way. The living quarters are likely there, which explains the lack of bandits near the entrance. All our opposition will come from there. Irving, you will take point while Rosetta and I focus on support. If you need to reload, I will switch with you and take over point until you do. Rosetta, if any enemy mages enter the fray, prioritize dealing with them. If they have a Type 4, or if the Lich shows himself, leave it to me. I will deal with them myself."
Once he's assured they're ready, Vincent strengthens the illusion spell on each of them considerably, and casts another, even stronger spell on the room itself, that would make the bandits see their own worst fears when inside the room. He then strengthens the darkness cloak on each of them, which, surprisingly, didn't leave him nearly as strained as he originally thought. In fact, he felt fine. Heh... We'll see how long this lasts though... I'd prefer not to have to change forms, but there's only so much I can do in human form, without summoning my true powers. But if it means protecting Elia... I will do what I must.
With everything set, he turns to Irving and nods. "Load the loudest shot you have, and unleash hell."

I could cause more hell if I'm crazed, but that's not the best idea right now.
Irving made sure the Type-7 shot was equipped and held down the trigger, charging it. Once it was fully charged, Irving pointed at an upward angle and fired the fully charged shot before emptying the rest of his magazine. He reloaded as he brought his back against the wall and peered the corner, ready to fire at the first sign of movement.

Knowing that most of the enemies would come down the hall ahead of them, and that it would be helpful to have something to distract anyone comig down the hall, Elia created a sphere of light. She waited until she heard commotion, then tossed the sphere down the hallway, making it stop shortly before the corner. It would cast just enough light to be noticable from around the corner, drawing people directly to them. And if need be, she could detonate the sphere, blinding them temporarily, while she, Vincent, and Irving would be uneffected due to the distance between them.
Holy magick is often considered to be poor in terms of offensive ability, but I disagree. All it takes is a little creativity...
Lastly, Elia summoned a bow and several arrows of light, placed an arrow on the string, and waited to see when someone would arrive.

"Married?" Sam mused at the response. "Knew you two were met for one another, despite the whole we hate one another back at that crazy Lichs place," Sam teased them. "Speaking of marriages Baron proposed to Catie and now they are engaged," Sam said with a hint of pride. "So what brings you to a quite, remote village like this?" Sam asked.
Meanwhile.....

The screaming and shouting came first, and then the alarm. It was a gong, a non-magical crude thing, but it was certainly loud and annoying. Thankfully, however, the gong did not last long. Someone high up- probably the bandit equivalent of a Sergeant or some such nonsense- rather foolishly decided the commotion was just a drunk fool who stayed up past curfew. Lucky for Vincent and his companions, not so much for the unfortunate bandits who walked right into a trap.
Only a few bandits- four to be exact- came around the corner at first. They were big, burly fellows in worn leather armor patched with furs and rough metal, each wielding a battleaxe, with a smaller hatchet and dagger leashed at their belts. There clearly wasn't an ounce of magickal talent between them.
By the time the bandits realized what was really happening, it was far too late. Vincent gave the signal.

And so the battle begins...!
Elia fired at the bandit who was closest to the sphere. She couldn't see whether she had struck him in the shoulder or in the chest near the heart due to the distance, but judging by the fear on the faces of the remaining three it had served it purpose rather well. As they looked to see what had happened to their ally, they also had to face the sphere of light she had placed there. Seeing her opening, Elia summoned another arrow, and in order to give herself enough time to ready it and then fire, she detonated the sphere. The resulting flash seemed even brighter than it normally would due to how dark the area was, and since the bandits' eyes were adjusted to the darkness, it blinded them for a fair length of time as well. She fired again at another one of the bandits, which ultimately left the other two for Irving to finish off as she generated and placed yet another, even larger, sphere of light farther down the hallway to alert other bandits and draw them in.

Irving turned the corner and fired off a Type-7 shot that hit one of the bandits in the shoulder, followed by another bullet to finish the job as the bandit fell to his knees. He was about to shoot the other bandit left before he got a wild idea.
We oughtta make a scene! Make noise and bring people here!
"Watch my back!" he said toward Rosetta and Vincent. He ran down the hallway while swapping slots to a Type-6 one. One he got close enough to the one bandit remaining (who was still too blinded to pose any notable form of resistance), Irving blasted a burst of fire from his weapon to send the bandit ablaze. As expected, the poor guy began screaming in agony and flailing about.
Screams of pain will always get people running to the source!
Irving scurried back to his position. He switched back to the Type-7 slot and pointed his weapon down the hallway for the first sign of movement (that wasn't the man on fire).

"Geez, I am just trying to be nice," Sam sighed. "I guess if you want to call it a catch no one has been in that house for a real long time but other then that its not that bad a shape," Sam said. "Well that and ever since Baqron found the letter from his dad hes been emotional," Sam said. "You see there was an old letter from his dad to his mom asking for forgiveness more or less," Sam said sheepishly. "When he read that well I guess all those feelings and memories, hit him like a dragon," Sam said. "I thought seeing an old friend would cheer him up, so if that's the catch so be it," Sam sighed. "Don't worry we would never ask for anything in return," Sam told Serlen.

"Okay folks it may not look like much but well here it is the place Baron grew up," Sam said introducing Serlen and Shalla to Barons house. "So any questions or anything before we head in?" Sam asked.
