Okay, if this was going to be an RP, what would be the characters you would make? Ignore stats and things. Just focus on what you want your character to be.
Name Race Gender Age Physical description Brief bio No history required. Just who you are and what you want to do.
Example qualities you can include are: current and past occupations: cleric, was once a street urchin prominent personality traits: Faithful, earnest motivations: protection of Bastion skill sets: practiced swordsman, very agile Or physical features: missing right arm, left eye replaced with lylitite shard
If you need anything more, just let me know.
Ex. How would I obtain Ley powers as a human?
Edit: forgot powers.

Name: Askeladd Giles
Race: Ley
Gender: Male
Age: presumably seventeen
Physical description: Askeladd is a short young man around 5'2 in terms of height. Shaggy grey hair with blue highlights and Yellow, slitted colored eyes. His build is deceptive in looks, appearing feminine, but underneath is actually athletic. He normally wears black cargo pants, a simple t shirt with the picture of a large axe, and a necklace around his neck with two horns. A scar runs from his left eye to his left jaw. It is very thin.
On his left leg, a grey demonic Phoenix rests, taking the form of a grotesque bird with a bone hanging out the side of its neck.
Bio: Askeladd was named after a famous folk hero that always seemed to go from rags to riches. Likewise, his family was poor. His mother, Caroline raised him from infant to ten, teaching him the ways of the Ley. Due to being shorter than the other kids, he was often picked on. As he grew older, and his parents sicker, he threw himself into the world of cunningness and deception. He has taken on the profession he calls "assassin." He is wiling to be hired even by criminals so he can become rich.
A youth that relies on his past experiences to help him.

Question(s)! I haven't come up with my characters yet, like, at all, but what are the basic limitations on the physiology of the Ware and the Lylitites? My first thoughts when brainstorming usually include how I can make something thoroughly perverted, so I need to know things like how the Ware transform (increased muscle mass, or is it a more thorough change including potential for wings, tentacles, multiple mouths, etc.?) and what limitations there are on the Lylitites (like can their bodies only be made of one element, does power increase size, do they have to be vaguely humanoid, etc.?).

I'm glad you asked. Ley were once human. And they remain humanoid, however each of them has been mutated by the Shift. Even Ley children rarely look like their parents. However, their Brand will be located in the same position as their father's and Abe a design similar to their mother's. While human and Ley skeletons and musculature are nearly identical, Ley may have grown something extra. Horns, sharper teeth, elongated ears, shaggier hair over their body, resembling fur. It's quite possible, but pretty uncommon. Eyes, hair, and skin are much more likely to change, sometimes subtly, (a stormy gray eye color that changes in the light), or drastically (Green hair, which is actually quite common). It isn't as much an evolution as a side-step. The Ley are a people touched by the spirit of the planet, and grow to resemble it more. (Humans in Ichor were created by the God Aurelis) Ware, are human. They just changed. They have two forms, DayForm and NightForm. In Day Form, they are just like humans, except their NightForm is always trying to break loose. It cannot, but because of that, they are more aggressive, and on edge. In day form, they can learn to tap into the powers of their NightForm, (consciously or unconsciously), becoming stronger, faster, more durable, faster healers, better trackers, better hunters. At night, their second form can dominate, and they fight for control. Their NightForms are monstrous Giants, usually grotesque or strange reflections of a person. The Nightforms might not even look human.

And I'm done. What type of culture can we expect from the three races,Oz the diverger? Religion, naming trends, fighting styles, etc. Naming trends? They were all human only 300 years ago. Humans are the most likely to have normal names. Society was once modern before the Shift. 300 years ago, society was slightly ahead of our own. Bastion runs entirely on hydroelectric and solar power. Especially solar power, since they were ruled by the Sun God. Ley are just as likely to pick human names, but at the same time, most of them choose to name themselves entirely differently, signifying their new existence. Many choose exotic clothes, and names. They are much more willing to change to their environment overall and promote creativity and learning. They have birthed 2 generations since the shift. They age very slowly, and are not incredibly fertile. Their powers are an extension of themselves, and they use them constantly. No one can imagine being without them. They call it Alchemy, because of its ties to the four classical elements. They have no formal religion, but feel a connection to the earth. In Bastion, things are quite different. They spent the past 1000 years before the shift ruled directly by their creator, and then the whole world watched him die, and then they watched the world change. There is so much fear. The nobles and middle class know what happened, but even they have a hard time coping with it. The lower class and rural sector were suddenly assaulted by monsters, and in the chaos, they have been crushed more than they ever had in all of history. But Aurelis' symbol is the pheonix and many believe he will reincarnate into royal blood, as he had over and over for 1000 years after he imprisoned his brother Argentum in the moon and determined the fate of mankind. The Church of the Sun still believes he will come back, and even if those within it don't, they believe that they still must keep order. Bastion has its military, but Bastion was, and still is a Theocracy, and the Church writes the law and enforces it. When demons walk the earth, the church has become more militant over the past few hundred years, to protect the weak, and more involved in the politics of government to prevent injustice. Even though they have the capacity to use modern weaponry, they lost the ability to make them. Even though several factories are intact in the old factory districts (now mostly slums within the slums, where few dare tread) most are run down, and worse, there is nowhere near enough supply to meet demand. Humans have the technological edge, but it slips day by day as equipment is destroyed or broken down over time. The last factory ran out of the material to work full time 100 years ago. That's why lylitite, the key to advancing technology in a new direction, has become more valuable. Wares, I'm still working out the details for. They're based on early semi-nomadic tribes of the Arabian peninsula. They worship their adoptive father, the moon god Argentum. Spurned by both humanity and Leymen, they band together, far south in the harsh Grasslands of Grey Skies, an arid land with few leylines, undesirable land to the Ley, and far away from Bastion. They are very aggressive fighters, in and out of their day forms. Their nightforms are violent and unpredictable.

The more you explain, the more I love this RP. I love a good story, and this is awesome. I unconsciously added a Phoenix as Askeladd's mark. Ah, that is bad?

Now to finish your question. Lylitite a are constricted to using one of the four elements. They can carry their body, the Lylitite shard (I can't remember what I actually called them, ah, yeah, they're called Boggarts by humans, and that's what has picked up among the Ley, though Ware call them Gheists. They can take a body of their element, and use the powers under that element. They can also craft bodies using other materials of someone builds them one, or they have the talent to craft and use their own. Though only earth And water Boggarts can wear bodies well. Fire and air Boggarts usually just propel their shard with their own energy. They are deliberately being kept in the dark. The ones who walk around have little idea of their purpose. They will not harm others unless they harm them or if bound to do so. They will not lie. If their shard is broken, even a little, they die. Still, they are incredibly powerful, so one shouldn't cross them. They need no food or rest. They are relentless, and cannot be bargained with. A Boggart servant is highly prized. If one can convince a Boggart to work under them, they will not be let down. No Boggart has consistent hiring policies. Some require one to stand against them in combat. Others serve those whose roof they stand under. Some take amounts of resources as payment for service. There is no rhyme or reason to this. As for Ware NightForm physiology, I've been intentionally vague. They are humanoid and grow to giant size. Their transformations I've left open. Though keep it mammalian. No chitin or scales. No more than one head, but appendages are fair game. Aside from that, they're supposed to look unnatural and monstrous.

So Lylitite characters are unlikely to work out, or would we just have less freedom with personalities than with other races? They were not designed as a player race. It can work though if that's what your heart is set on. You could tell a lie. You could harm others, but you would be an anomaly among the Lylitite Boggarts and they would try to destroy you on sight. I know I didn't make it sound that way, but even though they aren't human or Ley or Ware, they have personalities just like any other character. In fact, they are little more than personalities inside of a crystal (which happens to contain huge amounts of energy, but that's beside the point) They have the most raw elemental power of all the races, but only in one element. They do play a purpose in the world, one even they don't know about, and their two rules are important for them to achieve that purpose. They are allowed to protect themselves, and they will not lie, but nothing prevents them from deceiving. They don't eat or sleep, because they are almost elemental spirits. They don't need it. Many serve masters, but the requirements for binding them to another is decided by the Boggart, and they can decide whatever they wish for it to be.

Fire Lylitite. Serpent-esque form. Chaotic Evil trickster. Legit, or not legit, o loremaster? Now to figure out a human character... Okay, if this was going to be an RP, what would be the characters you would make? Ignore stats and things. Just focus on what you want your character to be. Name: ??? Race: check Gender: none Age: not necessary, but useful. Probably under 60 years old. Physical description. Flaming serpent. Check Brief bio current and past occupations: not really applicable, unless you have a background in mind. prominent personality traits? motivations? Does anything drive you? The cost of your services would go here. skills: fire adept, anything else? physical features: body of flame, I don't really have alignment. Chaotic and evil aren't really personality (well chaos can be, but evil isn't). Cruel, maybe. Reckless, sadistic, unpredictable. are there any other aspects of fire you wish to have skill in? Or do you just want your focus on your fire power. The element of fire governs external energy. The manipulation of fire is standard, but fire adepts can actually generate fire, as well as lightning, heat, light, changes in the weather, charging objects with kinetic energy, etc. any powers which fall under the manipulation of energy existing outside of one's own body falls under this element.

So a Boggart is a crystal that takes the form of a spirit? How can we acquire them? I have a plan brewing in my head. Askeladd's first beat down

They are around. I don't want to reveal too much about them, but they are relatively rare. Maybe ten thousand or so of them around at the moment. If you want to fight a Boggart, bring an army. They are very powerful.
Secondly, what kind of powers do you want? As a Ley, you have access to all of the elements to manipulate, but what powers have you learned?
Fire has been discussed above.
Air revolves around internal energy. It allows for air manipulation, but it also effects how one is percieved by others. Air covers wakefulness, and warmth, can muffle sound, create illusions, and can make someone fade seemingly from existence in the eyes of those around them, or make them incredibly noticable. They can radiate their own emotions outward, sharing with others something of what they are feeling, for better or worse.
Water has to do with one's own body. It allows one to manipulate water, but also change their body in incredible ways. They can give themselves incredible strength, and durable skin, sometimes as hard as steel. They can heal themselves, and in some cases, others, and disguise their body to mimic other things they have seen. sometimes this is a diplomat, and sometimes this is a beggar, and sometimes when they need to stab someone, they can morph a body part into the proper instrument.
Earth allows for the manipulation of matter. This includes earth of course, but it also allows one to develop telekinesis, and generate material constructs out of thin air. These constructs are made of an unknown material and disappear very quickly after the creator removes his attention from them. It also allows an earth user to find things. As long as he knows what he is looking for, he will be drawn toward it with a subtle tug. It is always there, but it's strength depends on proximity, and it is difficult to tell the direction, until one is quite close. It has the secondary effect in combat of alerting one to the position and number of combatants nearby. It usually requires one to close his eyes and focus on it to use, which opens him up for further attack, but mastering the ability gives one a definite edge in and out of combat.

Well if Doug is going to create Loki... I wanna create Orochi.
Hey Os, how slowly do Ley age? Do they stop aging at their prime, and then age rapidly right before they die? Or do they age normally, just a lot slower? Do the Ley have an established hierarchy, or does every Ley keep to themselves? I assume the Elder Ley are the most powerful. How would an Elder Ley compare to, say, a Boggart? Sorry if you said all this before.
Also, say I want to create a Fire Ley with the ability to shape shift. What limitations are there? If you've ever played Warriors Orochi, then you know what I'm aiming for.
But if not... I want my character to be something like this.
Name: Orochi Race: Ley Gender: Male Age: ??? Physical Description: 6'10 with a muscular build, flowing white hair, golden eyes, with slightly grayish skin. He has two horns protruding from his head, and a thick, lizard like tail that he can regenerate.
Powers: Controls normal and blue fire, lightning, and weather. He can shift into a giant Hydra, with multiple heads.
If that's legit, I'll come up with his background and such later. I really want the Hydra transformation, cause Orochi, but if that's a no go, then I'll just stick to fire, lightning, and weather control.

As it stands I don't think I want to stretch myself to a fourth RP commitment...sorry about that.
If I did join though, I'd try something along the lines of "Previously high ranking member of church who turned on his old faith when the world being destroyed proved that there's something greater than his god. Became obsessed with finding and becoming acquainted with this greater power, and when he realized his life would end before he could find answers he figured out some way to cheat death to continue searching."
