John Doe stared silently while Corva had her giggling fit.
...I take it back. She has issues.
"Or ma-a-a-a-aybe it's just 'cause I grew up in Lavender Town. Around lotsa ghosts. And made friends with them all! Oh, hey! Where're you from!? Huh, huh? It's not fair if it's only Corva's sharing!"
Laven-- oh. Ohhhh.... Damn.
"I grew up in Virbank City, in Unova", John Doe replied.
Lana notices the man picking up his pace. "Hey you stop get over here now and that's an order from the princess,". "Stop right now and get over here right now," Lana said breaking into a speed walk.
"I just want his help setting up tents why is he acting all squirrelly," Lana though.

"Oh, Unova! Corva's never been. But maybe it would be a nice place to live after all of Nova's dead... Since the cold doesn't bother me anymore 'n' all. Hey, is the Celestial Tower as nice as Corva heard!?" Corva asks excitedly.
Whoa what's with the expression sir. I mean I am grateful for what you and the others did in reclaiming the world tree.
Yet I am afraid I need your help with something. You seem capable and I really need help. Well as you heard there's this Lionhead thing going around and a lot of people that need to be umm well you know. I really need help setting up more tents and I assume your okay so umm can you please help me umm sir (did Lana ever meet Irving?)

Corva cackles quietly at John's joke. Until he mentions Nova. "They better not have. Corva wasn't planning to hunt down their ghosts and kill them, too - other than their bosses - but she might." She shifts back to friendly on a dime. "So! What kinda Pokemon do you 'n' your gi-i-i-irlfri-i-i-iend use?"

"Actually, I have--" from the corner of his eye, John Doe saw that someone exited the men's tent. The tent's flap was wide open with only the physician inside, and it didn't seem like anyone was planning to take the spot. "How about I tell you later?" he said. "I want to get this checkup over with."
"There are a buncha your soldiers around here," Irving said. "Can't you bother them, instead?"

Irving sighed.
"Fine. Let's make it quick. I want to go... check something... far away from here..."
I'm glad that's over.
Yancy sighed as she walked out of the tent, leaving the flap wide open to signal its availability for the next guest. She looked around the group of soldiers and Outlanders . Looks like Joshua might still be in examination. I should see if any more people need... help...
Yancy allowed herself to get distracted by a familiar tail among the crowd of feet. Squinting suspiciously, Yancy excused herself through the crowd. While she quickly lost sight of the tail, she eventually caught sight of a metallic bird -- a Skarmory -- loitering around.
Can it be...?
She jogged forward in surprise and more than a little bit of excitement, only to feel a little bit let down when the Skarmory seemed to be following a young boy in purple clothes around.
Aww... But still, there's another trainer here?
Yancy approached the boy from behind, tapping him on the shoulder to get his attention.
"Excuse me," she said. "But I was wondering if that Skarmory is yours."

Purple stared at the tent awkwardly, trying to think of a way to avoid the uncomfortable searching procedure going on. It's not that he was uncomfortable, he was just...uncomfortable. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a tap on the shoulder.
"Huh?" He turned to see someone with pink hair. He remembered her from earlier.
"Excuse me," she said. "But I was wondering if that Skarmory is yours."
Purple looked to his side and saw Skarmory standing there, majestic as ever. She seemed to be on guard, watching all of these new people go about their business. Purple turned back to Yancy. "Um, yeah. You must be a trainer too. Since you recognized it and all." Purple thinks back, recalling a Togekiss being near her. "You had a Togekiss, right? It's always nice to meet new trainers. Though I'm used to battling them the second our eyes meet." He laughs a bit.

"Yes, I agree," Yancy replied. "Trainers like us are less common than we used to be, so it's always nice to meet them. Especially now. In this world, it looks like people don't have or train Pokemon."

Confusion momentarily moves across Purple's face. "I'd say trainers are actually probably more common now than ever. Especially with the dimensional gates and the tournaments in Ethos." Purple then comes across a realization. "You're...not from Ethos, are you?"
Post by empireoffire on Nov 3, 2017 20:07:18 GMT -6
"Oh, I... no..." Yancy frowned. "I don't know what Ethos is. I guess that means you don't know about any places called... let's see... Kanto? Unova? ...Sinnoh?"
George doesn't make a big deal out of his checkup. He goes in, gets checked out, and goes about his business. Marian and Waite both decide to got checked by June, with considerably more groaning, complaining, and threatening to freeze and/or dissolve her. June summarily tells them to shut their mouths. They all come out with clean bills of health, same as Lily, Rand, and Gale. Corva heads in next.
Talia waits in a different line, carrying Catie in her arms, continuing to try to wake her.
There aren't many troops left that need to be treated, and there's plenty of medics arriving. Horatio sighs and joins in one of the lines. Impatiently. Indignantly.

"Actually, I have heard of some of those. But I don't think they're the same ones you know. Actually, my home Kanto and your Kanto are definitely different. I'm pretty certain of it. I've seen this before. It happens a lot when you travel through dimensions. We come from split off worlds. Er...Basically, something happened in your world that changed it that didn't happen in mine. Since it never happened, I guess Ethos was able to exist and Pokemon battling was able to flourish as a sport and test of strength and strategy instead of...well, I'm guessing it must not be quite so popular in your world for a reason..." Purple becomes silent. "It's not uncommon for thugs to use Pokemon for stealing from or attacking people."
Having said that, Skarmory looks rather disgusted. It seems she doesn't like thugs that use Pokemon for such purposes.

"I... guess it's good to here that there's at least one version of my world that's doing good," Yancy muttered. "My world is in a big war right now, and..." she gulped. "S-Sorry. I don't want to talk about it."
I don't even completely understand why everything had to go this way.
Post by SpringForest on Nov 8, 2017 18:57:36 GMT -6
"Oh. Sorry." Purple seems a bit awkward. He shuffles a bit, uncertain of what to say. "Well, I guess at least your world probably didn't have Black Lanterns in it. They're...pretty bad. They killed a lot of people before we could stop them..." Purple is uncomfortably silent again.

Purple's discomfort fades away as the subject changes. "Yes, I actually used to work in a group that traveled through dimensions. I had to stop my dimension traveling once I became the Pokemon champion, but it made for a fun adventure while it lasted. That's actually how I got here. I found a portal and someone was calling for help inside. I don't know who's voice it was though...
