Nobunaga gives an amused snort and chuckles. "Cohesive unit? Lady June, have you seen that ragtag bunch? Even I would have trouble whipping them into shape, under perfect conditions, with months to work with."
He sobers and turns serious. "I understand where you're coming from, but it's simply not possible for us to become a cohesive unit overnight. Trust will not come so easily between most of us. Divulging all our secrets to each another, when we barely know each other and don't know how any of us will react, will only serve to make our efforts more difficult. No, for now, I believe our first priority needs to be gathering information. We need to know more, both about each other, and about this world. There are far too many unknowns, and in my weakened state, even my vast vision is clouded. In time, as those gaps are filled and our questions and concerns are answered, we'll naturally start developing as a unit. Until then however, those of us with experience and training will need to pick up the slack."
He pauses for a moment, as if thinking what to say or how to say it, then continues, "That brings me to something I would like to ask you, Lady June. But we can talk more as we walk. I'm sure my children would very much like to actually see the city instead of this dusty old alleyway."
Both of them nodded emphatically. He smiled and lead them back out onto the main street, but made sure to warn them not to wander off. "And absolutely no use of your powers for any reason," he added sternly. Aris only nodded, but Leo visibly pouted.
Grinning slightly, Nobunaga turned back to June and whispered, "If you think raising kids is hard enough, try raising ones with superpowers. Little Leo was turning invisible when he was still in his crib. Nearly gave my poor wife a heart attack the first time."

Bowser and the rest of the other losers Outlanders were waiting for Lana over by the entrance when Lana came towards the front entrance with about 10 guards.
"Hey Lana what gives, why do you need all those toads, when you got me to protect you," Bowser said very triumphantly. The guards were confused because they were pretty sure they were humans and not toads.
"It's okay guys I think he was referring to something from his world," Lana said very dismissively. "Anyways where's Chompy you were so adamant about having her with you?" Lana asked. "Well since you asked not because I wanted to," Bowser said as he waived the magic wand and Chompy reappered. Chompy barked at but Lana whim she was unusually calm around.
"Hey Charlie ready to go shopping," Lana asked while Charlie just whimpered out of excitement towards her.
"Traitor," Aylssa teased Charlie who just whimpered. "Oh come on you know I love you," Aylssa said hugging Charlie.
"I know Peach and everybody else would have loved to go shopping in Oz," Starlow said.
"(Yeah she would have loved to gone along with everybody else)," Mario sighed while looking at the cards.
"Umm not sure what he said but I wouldn't worry too much," Baron said as he appeared wearing a wide brim hat and sunglasses. The other Outlanders were unsure why Baron was wearing such a wide hat and sunglasses. "What you know I am half vampire and the sun even though it doesn't hurt too much still kinda of want to keep the rays off of me," Baron said.
"Vampire??" Starlow asked.
"Hmm how to put it well umm its kinda of hard to explain," Baron said.
"Well guys are you ready?" Lana asked.
"Let's go," Mario said.
"Okay guys follow me," Lana said as she lead the group towards the market

June frowns. "You underestimate them, Sir Nobunaga." Something I expect you do quite often. She shakes her head. "But enough about the Outlanders and this battle. I never would have guessed you to be married. Tell me about her. Is she... Oh. Is she here?"

... Underestimate them? If anything, I know the strengths and weaknesses of our group far better than you could possibly know. And three of them I know even better than they know themselves.
"No, she isn't," Nobunaga answers softly. His voice darkened a bit. "And that is why I will do absolutely anything it takes to get home- for all our sakes. The longer I'm away from her, the more I..."
He suddenly stopped mid sentence, as if he were almost about to say something he shouldn't, and changed the subject. "If you don't mind, I'd rather not talk about her. I miss her enough already. I was going to ask you a question. Unless I'm mistaken, you have experience in battle, do you not? You carry yourself with the air of someone used to authority- to giving orders. And you hold your weapon the way a veteran does- with confidence, but also with a delicate touch that suggests you know very well what picking up that weapon truly means. You know what it's like to weigh lives upon a scale, to have to choose who lives and who dies. You may claim I'm underestimating our little group all you want, but the fact of the matter is, there are precious few among us who understand that burden. We had a few Outlanders set out on their own not long ago, and leave Yuelia, and minus them, you, myself, and potentially one other are the only ones who understand what it means to be a Commander. If we are to survive, the Outlanders need a real leader to guide them, to unite them. And I'm still recovering from my battle with the Ephesian General."
He glances over at the world tree in the distance, and the giant black figure sitting atop it. "If we are given orders to march soon, before I've had time to recover, I won't be of any use. It will take my full power to deal with... That. Lady June, what would you say to leading the Outlanders in my stead?"

June freezes in her tracks. "I... Well, yes, I do have combat experience, and I did lead a small group, but... I'm the newest arrival here. I know the least about the others - and they know the least about me. Not only that, but... I mean, I won't refuse, but... A decision this important, I think we should at ask the others who they think would be the best choice."

Legretta's wide grin fades and her visage darkens. "Grandfather?" She repeats in disbelief, the very air crackling around her, as she stares at the entity called Dimentio. "Master of Dimensions? Ignorant fool! You cannot even begin to comprehend to whom you speak! How dare-"
Jeckle raised his hand, and she immediately fell silent. He then turned to Dimentio, his eyes brimming with curiosity. "Fascinating... You are a fascinating creature. I do not believe you and I have ever met, and yet you inspire such intense feelings of déjà vu. Hmm... I see. You must have met one of my many aspects in some other parallel universe or another. How interesting..."
The Mad Doctor's interest abruptly waned, and he turned to address the other fascinating creature, the one called Maurice. "Not from this world?"
He chuckled. "My dear boy, we are not even from this universe. No, we were pulled across many cosmic horizons to arrive here, and I assure you, it was not by our own design. No, at best, this is merely a side chapter, a little excursion, a play within a play within our story. Hmm... You are even more fascinating than the others. You possess no tangible power of your own, yet there is a force behind you, a force that is both oddly familiar and equally unknown to me. Why, I would almost say you have been in contact with an aspect of the Creator... How curious. That would mark you as one of the Chosen, destined to participate in the eternal cycle. You and I shall have to speak more later."
With that, Jeckle's ears twitched and his head cocked sideways. Still floating cross legged in mid air, he turned as if on an axis, without moving his body an inch, until he was facing the opposite direction- north, towards the dead center of the volcanic island.
"Ohoho... I sense a fell wind brewing. It seems our Host may finally be ready to greet us. Come, Legretta my love. It would be impolite to keep him waiting."
Legretta's previous anger dissipated like a candle flame in the wind, and she beamed. "Of course, my Master."

The market place was busy as usual and the weather was perfect. The general public whispered amoung themselves seeing the palace guards, the Outlanders, and what they assumed was the princess. "So thats Lana what she doing out here," some of the people asked. "Are you sure she is safe with that dragon turtle thing?" Some of the other citizens whispered. "Wait I remember seeing her the day of the attack she was talking to that thing," others whispered.
"So what do you think?" One of the citzens asked. "Think those Outlanders have anything good to take?" another citizen asked. "I wonder but I also value myife way too much to find out," the citzen said. "I mean not is there like ten guards surrounding them, but do you wanna try ypur luck with them," the citzen replied.
Lana began walking around the markets with the Outlanders. Everyone in town kinda of just stared at Bowser and Chompy. Some of the braver citizens even attempted to try and get close to Chompy. They were intrigued by what seemed like some type of strange dog. Yet when they tried to get close Chompy would lash out and just bark at them The guards quickly surrounded Chompy and had there weapons drawn. Lana just sighed and walked over to Chompy as he immediately calmed down.
"Has she always had a touch like this when it comes to animals?" Starlow asked one of the guards.
"You be surprised, some of our more boisterous Shepards we had during trading immediately calmed down when she would enter with the queen," the guard said to Starlow.
"She kinda of reminds me of out very princess," Starlow said.
"Ma ma Mia," Mario let out as he looked at the card of Princess Peach.
"Umm Starlow, does he always talk in such an interesting way," Baron asked.
"As long as I could remember before he barley spoke now well at least he can talk," Starlow said while Mario just looked at her.
"Well now thats takeb care of, guys wanna grab something to eat," Lana asked.
"Umm we would but well none of us have money from this world," Baron said.
"It's fine there are perks to traveling with a princess," Lana said. Even though it is coming out of my personal allowance that I use for Books," Lana thought to herself. "Lets go over there by the town center over by the fountain," Lana said leading the group over to the fountain.
One of the guards wrote down what everyone wanted and Lana handed him the money. The other nine guards made a perimeter around he princess and the Outlanders making sure to give the Outlanders, princess, and the public plenty of space.
"Psst Aylssa and Baron could I talk to you in privatr later," Lana asked.
Aylssa and Baron just looked at Lana confused to what the request could possibly be.

Nobunaga stops and inclines his head to June. "Don't worry, I had already intended to bring the subject up with the others. But enough of that for now. Tell me about your home, Lady June. What is it like?"

June looks up towards the sky. "Hm. I was born in Valeria. A small country. It was always cold, and farming was rough, but our mines and old timber provided enough trade to keep us going. Valeria's on a small island with two other countries. To the south, you've got Carcina. Instead of snowy forests and stone mountains, it's surrounded by rolling hills and grassy plains. And we'd been at war on and off for... since before I was born. But that changed about... 5 years ago. There was a huge war, our countries were forced to work together. A lot happened and a lot of people died, but... our countries have been working hard to rebuild together. I actually live in Carcina now, in their capital city of all places." She stops. "Ha. If someone had told young me I'd fall for... a Carcinan idiot, that I'd spend all my time babysitting a king, that my daughter'd..." She shakes her head. "Bah, enough about that. I don't need to get all homesick. Leo, Aris, what do you two do for fun?"

Location: Market Square
Lana and the others were having lunch around the fountain taking in the beautiful day. Some of tje passing citizens were staring out of curiosity at the Outlanders and Lana. Others were snickering and talking amoungst themselves. Chompy and Charlie were staring at Lana begging her to share part of her food.
Bowser was housing multiple things he ordered, Hot Dogs, something called a Cheeseburger, and another interesting thing called a footlog chilli cheese dog. Everybody else had variouses sandwiches and they were enjoying the sights and sounds. "Umm sorry I asked," Lana said.
While Lana was talking with Baron and Aylssa, Charlie caught wind of a familiar scent and took off. "Charlie get back here," Aylssa said but Charlie was already in full sprint. "That dog what am i gonna do with him," Aylssa sighed. Aylssa was getting ready to take off after Charlie when Lana stopped her.
"It's fine Aylssa I got this, I know the area like the back of my hand," Lana said. "It would probably be quicker if me and some of the guards go after Charlie," Lana told her.
"Umm okay," Aylssa said as she sat down.
"Then its setled, okay be right back," Lana said as her and five guards took off after the dog Charlie was dogging and weaving through the crowd dead set on finding that scent. Yet just as quickly as he was moving he came to a sudden stop. Charlie seemed to come across a young girl, a young boy, a slightly older female and an older male. Charlie just stood there sniffing the air almost like the scent was coming from the two young children. Charlie then plopped on the ground amd began to slowly army crawl towards them.
"Charlie where are you?" Lana called out. "Ahh there you are," Lana said as she went towards the slowly crawling Charlie. "Whats gotten into you?" Lana asked as Lana picked up Charlie.

Location: Umm where Villan Con is? Dimento merely muses at the woman know as Legretta and her display. "This Legretta is so amusing she reminds me of Mimi," Dimento thought to himself. "Yet in the end she was just a mere footnote in my road to greatness," Dimento thougt to himself. "Hmm I don't know if she will be of use to me in my grand plans, and well I don't think this will work," Dimento said as he put away the sprout he had. "Plus I thought that was him, but hmm he doesn't seem to know about Anna? or the device he gave her," Dimento thought. "Hey Pixy you mind letting go of the surf board," Fen Fen ( ) asked. Pixy released her surf board so she could use Physcic on the surf board to keep her and Pixy airborne. "So Pixy what do you think of Jeckle and Legretta?" Fen Fen asked. Pixy proceeded to show a picture of a screw and baseball right in front of Jeckle and Legretta without caring. "How bout you Pika?" Pixy asked. Fen Fen proceeded to show Pixy a peanut. Fawful on the other hand seemed very pleased that Jeckle would start floating upside down. "Well now like a person standing on hand our host is going right side down," Fawful said in amusement at Jeckles display. "Now watch as Fawful takes him upon the challenge and also goes upside down," Fawful said as he used his flying helmet to go upside down. Chlortles the Gengar who was hiding in Fawfuls shadow joined Fawful and Jeckle as he too went upside down. When Fawful, went upside down the Star rod he had in his pocket began to slip and was falling towards the ground. Fen Fen grabbed the rod before it fell by using her Physcic powers to maneuver towards the rod. "Fawful you have to be careful... eep," Fen Fen said when she grabbed the wand. Fen Fen began to pick up on whispers and what sounded like wishes were coming from the rod. "Umm Pixy this rod its its I can hear wishes coming from it," Fen Fen said. "Its fine Fen Fen, it must be tough being able to sense all that stuff," Pixy said as she took the rod. "Well it does have its uses but unfortunately, there are times like today its very Delllphox," Fen Fen said to Pixy. "At least your not like those two," Pixy said pointing her paw towards Fawful and Chlortles. Fawful and Chlortles decided to het into a contest to see who can spin the most in circles while upside down and while spinning in place. "La Pika," Pixy facepalmed. "Hmmm I sense another presence this one is different maybe this is the one that summoned us," Fen Fen said as she looked over towards the volcano

"Well, I mostly like to read a lot," Aris says. "But I also enjoy drawing and painting. Sometimes my brother and I go exploring too. We live in a really amazing place, so there's an endless amount of really cool areas to explore."
"Yeah! And sometimes our big sister takes us out flying," Leo says, getting increasingly excited.
Nobunaga sighs. "I thought I told Rhia not to do that..."
Leo and Aris turn a bit sheepish. "She's really careful," Aris assures her father, smiling bashfully. "We've never once been in danger."
I know, but still...
Seeing June's quizzical look, Nobunaga hesitates for a moment, then elaborates. "My eldest child is... Well, a dragon."
"A really awesome one!" Leo pipes up, a bit too loudly. A few other citizens dare to glance over, but hurriedly turn away upon seeing the very intimidating Masked Outlander who had developed quite the reputation recently. Leo clamped his hand over his mouth, while Nobunaga gave a gentle, good natured laugh.

Mana... Kete?
"I am unfamiliar with that word," Nobunaga says. "But if you mean to ask if she is a 'shapeshifter', the answer is yes."
He glances over at the giant dragon in the far distance. "I almost wish she were here... We might have been able to avoid a battle with that one."

June doesn't quite understand what Nobunaga means. "You mean you think that dragon's a mana- er, shapeshifter, as well? ...Do they exist in this world?"

"I'm almost certain that dragon is some form of shapeshifter," Nobunaga answers. "But I meant that my daughter would be the only one of us who shares even the faintest common ground with that dragon. Dragons, by their nature, are solitary and proud creatures, but fiercely loyal to their own kind- at least in my world. And if my theory about similar or identical species retaining the same core fundamental aspects across all universes is correct, then I believe my daughter could quite possibly convince that dragon to stand down, or even defect."
His voice softens a bit, and turns wistful. His children look down, clearly saddened as well. "But at least... At least she's home with her mother."

"Well, that's good news, at least," June says. "And mine are home with their father... Though maybe that's not such a great thing. If I don't hurry home, I'm sure he'll fit our daughter for her first set of platemail, and have our son riding a wyvern before he can even crawl."

...As the river threatened to sweep young Remi away, he clung to the rock for dear life. One of the passing villagers happened to hear his cries as they chased after the monstrous ghost Scara, torches and pitchforks in hand. "Look!" he cried. "The ghost tried to drown young Remi, and then came back to the village to taunt us! The ghost wanted us all too busy to save young Remi, as we hunt him down with our torches and pitchforks!" Some of the villagers helped to fish young Remi out of the river, while the rest continued to drive Scara away. Young Remi survived, glad to learn that having no friends is far better than being friends with a disgusting monster who will lure you to the nearest river to go play and then try to drown you. And the horrible ghost was never seen again."
Horatio places the book down quietly. Ignius is quick to take it up. "One of my favorite anthologies," Ignius says, examining the cover. "Plenty of good stories to tell your kids. Really drive home some good values."
"Yes, I... noticed there were quite a few stories about the undead. And how terrible they are," Horatio says.
"Of course!" Ignius says. "Unnatural abominations against the natural order of life itself. Created by monstrous people who think themselves above everything, who think their power's absolute. Horrible people, all of them."
"Hm... Yes, even in my world necromancy's rather strongly frowned upon by most. Though not quite to this degree..."
"It. Is. Abominable." Ignius punctuates each word with a jab with his finger. He stands staring at Horatio with a terse frown for several seconds before breaking into a grin and sliding another book across the table. "I thought you might enjoy something a bit different, so I pulled a recipe book filled with classic and traditional Yuelian fare. I'll go pull a collection of poetry next." He rises and disappears into the shelves.
Horatio cracks open the cook book and pretends to start about grilled Komodo meat. "Another bunch of holier-than-thou fools," he thinks to himself.

"...I thought everyone here was a card. That's news." Celeste said with a raised eyebrow. His gaze met the pod-like machine he was working with earlier as the gears turned.
Consequences. Potential ones, anyways. That changes things significantly. But if I'm one who isn't real then why so? Am I not expendable, or is that the wrong way to think about this...
"Whatever chemical the green fluid in should be a major hint in that case. Like I said...or did I say...was that to you? Anyways, my predominant theory is that the cards are like dimensional film negatives. We just need a developing fluid, and for that, we should bring this to the queen at this point, shouldn't we?" Celeste said, banging off words as he got up and collected Jirachi.

"Eh..." Joshua looked over at Junior at the corner of his eye, who was winding up another toy out of boredom. "It's rather late, and the scientists already packed it in" he noted, "and it's not like we have anything concrete to show, just ideas. I'm meeting with the researchers again first thing in the morning, regardless. I can bring this up to them then. I'm pretty certain they used some of that stuff in their machinery, too."
