"What!? Why did he open it?"

"To inspect it." He answered. "I told him all that was in there was a bear, but he didn't believe me."

"...I see."
Nergui turns back to resume her place in line, but glances back at the circus owner.
"I somehow doubt I've got the gold to replace a trained bear, but I still owe you a debt. I am a knight, and I intend to honour it. If you have any need of my sword, I'll be in town for a few days."

"I'd say the guards owe him, not you." Looking away, Aranno mutters "But that's none of my business."

"Dead men incur no debts, and besides... it was my hand that killed it. Where I come from, that's responsibility enough."

"Nah need to 'pologize." The fat man, now using his natural Dwarven accent, replied. "'E was growin' old anyways."

Nergui nods. "Just remember that the offer stands."
She returns to the line silently.

"Well, I do haf a possibl' job in mind fah ye." He said. "Would ye consider a performin' in our dear friend's stead? It's guilt free work, and it'll be your specialty. Granted, ye'd have to bring da others 'long wit ye."

"I cannot volunteer others, but true to my word I'll do what I can. What would you have of us?"

Ezekiel looked up, not at the two conversing, but just up from his book. Was he going to get dragged into a circus act? He hoped not. He had wasted enough time at this location already.

"I can't imagine why you'd need us, especially when you've seen nothing of what we can do. Whatever, if you'll pay us, and it'll amuse me, I'm in."

If Elkas was not resting under the shade of the Wagon, he would have already said yes, but seeing as he was, he remained lightly napping.

The wagon ran over Elkas, waking him up before the dwarf continued.
"We have a troupe of dancing skeletons, but our resident Necromancer was thinking of adding a little combat routine, but we haven't found a nice mixed group of warriors."
"It's free experience, so I'd be happy to oblige." Morlius answered. "I don't need payment for this, and I doubt stab-happy needs it either."

"I want pay, but I suppose if you can drive a good bargain..."

"That's... far from the worst application of necromancy, I suppose." Nergui sighs. "You have at least three of us."

At the word "necromancer" Ezekiel slammed his book shut, got up and made his way over to the dwarf.
"If I may speak with him afterwards I will gladly assist your Necromancer free of charge. Information is all I seek."
He looked over at the bear corpse for a moment before turning back.
"And I'm sorry about the bear."

"Sure. He's already in the city though. He likes to make sure there are replacements if necessary."

"Maybe he'd like a present," Ezekiel said, looking at the bear but quickly looking on ahead, "But lets hurry on then. Line's moving."

"Do you have your papers?" Another guard, a much taller one, asked the group.
"I have mine." Morlius answered as he held his up.

"Here you go, sir." Nergui says as she hands her papers to the guard.
