"Not trying to make you mad, but it's an obvious side effect."

"Of course, sir." Aranno stoops down immediately upon receiving permission, and carefully sifts through the scattered products. He keeps an eye out for any and all items of obvious value regardless of how broken they may be, even more basic metals like copper. Piecing together or melting down antiques such as these was not as off-putting to the wood elf as it might be to a historian. Hm... Dammit, that hourglass is broken. And I don't see any stray coins either. Did he pick them up already? Is that a holy symbol? Not sure what kind or anything , but best grab that, can always ask that cleric about details. I'll ask about the coins while I pick it up, distract him a little, hopefully. "Oi. You made sure your money was safe before this happened, right?" Still leaning over the pile with his head turned back to look at the gnome, Aranno slowly grabs the holy symbol out with a few worthless shards, and moves to slip it into his pocket.

"Absorutery!" The gnome shouted.

"Heh, smart man. I know I don't let my coins stray from my pouch." Alright, let's see here, pretty much got this symbol for certain. Nothing else obvious, or that seems really easy though... Let's try... "Hey, ah, do you have an idea as to what we should do with all the broken items and trash, or have you not thought that far ahead yet?"

Waking up as the sun hit its peak has many benefits for a man like Elkas. Lunch was heartier and tastier than breakfast. Markets had more people thus more money. Drinking wasn't as stigmatized (hell in a desert it might be encouraged). And he would have more vitality in the nighttime when the good hookers and gamblers were out to sin. Having slept in his armor, his back was sore with mildly annoying muscle aches over the rest of his body. He considered now a good time, nay, the best time to partake in his favorite aged drink.
His high noon as morning ritual consisted of three activities to be done in order. First he was to wash his hair, face and mouth combing the former. Then the need to tune and polish his lute was fulfilled. Lastly he recovered his hat, always placing a kiss on the inscription under the trim before placing it on his head. One would think he takes better care of his looks and instrument than his hat, but one would be wrong. Though he was proud of his biological inheritance, he liked to think his mind was worth more. Despite his lute being of masterworks passed down from master to student, he thought it didn't posses the importance of skill. His hat however had no buts. It was an important symbol and reminder he placed no value on. As priceless as it was worthless.
With that out of the way he made his way back to the Inn's tavern. Located near the outskirts, the scene was set straight out of a western. Wind swept orange hued dust across desaturated red plateaus while the hazy sun baked the clay dirt underfoot. The city's walls cast a long, cool shadow. It created refuge in the lazy afternoon of Elkas. Stepping up to the bar in the inn he called for the barkeep. "Why hello fellow gent. A cheap bottle of wine and a good story if you don't mind."

"Here's the booze." Said the barkeep. " I don't have any particular stories to tell."

"Well then maybe you have some helpful information." Elkas replied pouring out a drink. "I'm looking for a girl. Specifically a Half-orc."

"Besides the one here?" He replied. "There's not one that I can think of."

"Huh? She's still here?" A quick turn of his head confirmed this. "I thought she'd be out helping the poor or strengthening her core." Elkas quickly downs a drink.
"That's one for confidence." He pours another. "Two for good luck." He forgoes the cup this time downing half the bottle. "And a third for good measure." He sets the bottle down. Briefly. For a second really. His hand doesn't let go. He eventually leaves it there with plans of returning to finish it.
Seeing no point in stalling further, he strides over to Nerugi and gently taps her on the shoulder. "Hello, you may remember me from last night. We fought some skeletons, I healed you a little. My name is Elkas, pleasure to make you acquaintance."

Nergui looks up from her meal at Elkas and grins.
"Yeah, I remember you." She replies. "Thanks for having my back, there. I don't handle projectiles that well." She chuckles.
"Talk about the best of a bad situation, you and that Cleric both. Really, thank you. My name is Nergui."
She holds out her right hand to offer a shake.

"But you can go toe-to-toe with the fiercest bears." Elkas smiles in kind and accepts the shake. He then takes a seat across from her. "I have a proposal if you'd be willing to hear it Nergui."

Nergui smiles shyly, accepting Elkas' hand.
"I am sworn to help." She says. "Just keep in mind that, uh... I'm not used to taking compliments from guys, so lay off the smooth talk, will ya'?"
