A Curaga spell. Casting one was laughably simple to her now. That didn't mean that doing so had no significance to her anymore. In fact, this time it was very significant. He couldn't die when she had just found him again. All thise years, working to come up with some way to free him, and there he was, already free from crystal stasis. And yet he thought she was an overachiever.
She charged towards the eidolon while its back was turned. Using a little wind magic, just a simple Aero spell, she jumped into the air at high speeds, and with a cry she forced her spear through the enemy's shoulder using her momentum and weight. Then, the head of the spear temporarily retracted in the shaft of the weapon, making it easy for her to pull it back out. As the eidolon tried to swat her away, she jumped off of its shoulder, over its hand, then landed gracefully on the ground in front of her old friend, ready to help him fight.
"You're not planning on giving up now, are you? Get up, dust yourself off, and fight!" she said as she used her spear to block a blow from the eidolon's sword.

"Who knew you'd turn out to be such a babe?" Cyprian gave a wild grin as his hand tensed around Metzenbaum's grip. "Figures that I can't get rid of you."
The Titan swung it's grand katana at the purple-haired woman only for Cyprian to dash between and catch it inbetween his shears.
"Could you lend another hand?" He asked coyly as he struggled against the fearsome eidolon while the rain beat against him.

"You're irritated because I won't leave you alone, yet you're asking for help? Not to mention that you didn't have to deal with me for ten years. Whatever."
She smiled and gave Cyprian some sort of signal, and immediately they rushed at Yojimbo from different sides, taking the eidolon by surprise. They were finally fighting as a team again.

He continued on, unaware of what was happening behind him. Jill was careful in her stalking, I mean following. Every time he would look back, she would find something to hide in.
"What is that?" She wondered. She had seen swords, but never something so oddly made. She neart jumped when black dots formed along the ground, rising up, beady yellow eyes gazing hungrily. They advanced, and Salem swung, dispersing one.
The rest seemed to jump back, knowing the fate of their partner. Another, one with large claws, pounced, tips aimed at the heart. Salem rolled to the ground, cutting into its underbelly like jelly. He stood up, pointed at another and shouted, "Fire!"
Jill wante to scream as a small flame shot forth, scorching the things. These must be heartless, and the recent killers. She suddenly felt cold and turned. She shouldn't be doing this. She crashed to the ground, staring into a pair of yellow eyes. "He...art." It croaked. She couldn't help it, she screamed.
Salem was there in an instance, thrusting. The heartless, with great flexibility, bent away, slashing with vicious nails. Salem noticed Jill but focused on the thing in front of him. He hopped back as it lashed out, clawing viciously. Jill scrambled away to the wall, wanting to help. She took a can, threw it, but it phased through. She could only watch as her friend battled for his lfe.
He was doing fine in his opinion. Parry, dodge, slash, repeat. Good tactics he concluded, wincing as his shoulde was stuck. Deep, red blood spurted from the wound staining his shirt. "Okay, time to dance." He changed his footwork into something graceful. Like a dancers.

The two travelled again as partners, but Cocoon no longer rested afloat above the surface of Gran Pulse. No, it now rested atop a crystal pillar, it's lights seemed to have dulled. A peaceful year went by, with Cyprian's brand growing slowly, forecasting his transformation into a Cie'th. He wanted to die before then, to keep him from becoming a monster as his power gradually built up. Soon, though mysterious creatures of darkness slowly collected, gathering their strength. They would be undiscovered for quite some time, and when they were, they began their grand march toward the Crystal Pillar.

Kurt woke up, groggily getting to his feet as the evening sun set in the west. Taking in his surroundings, he noticed he wasn't in the mine anymore. He was standing in a verdant field, almost like the ones you'd find near Limsa Lominsa. However, the town to the east looked nothing like any town in Eorzea. He began to walk towards the town. He wondered if his party had survived and were also transported to this strange area. He didn't really know them, but he could tell they were good people. It would have been a shame if they had perished to those strange creatures. Almost as if on cue, murky black shapes began to form on the ground around him. The shapes took the form of those small, implike creatures.
"Damn, these bastards again!" said Kurt. He was defenseless, the strange lance from earlier having disappeared. Looking around, he saw no way out. Suddenly, a light flashed in his hands. The strange lance was back in his hands. Putting his skills as a lancer to good use, he made quick work of the creatures.
"It seems as though this lance is the only thing capable of slaying these creatures." he thought. "I better learn how to control it, fast." Increasing his pace, he began to run towards the town, hoping to get their before night fell on this strange land.
By the way, I'm not a good writer.

Destroy it...
Cyprian heard a whisper in his head as he entered a frenzy. He turned his back on his attackers and plunged Metzenbaum into the crystalline core. He heard the sharp shattering as a hand plunged into his chest from behind.
