When I stop being lazy, I'll make an official character topic like for KH and Oz. If you have any questions about the new setting, ask away. I'm very willing to change things up still.

Question: Can my ship turn into a giant mecha? And by giant I mean about Gundam sized. And if it can't, can it hold a mecha?

Name: Hans Skeiner Gender: Male Age (ignoring time frozen): 24 Appearance (Normal): Largely human, but with a very pale and veined face with cybernetic implants covering the sides of the throat and some of the scalp, leaving him largely bald. Cybernetic plates are also implanted in various areas such as the sides of the abdomen, lower thighs, and ankles. He's a little thin for his above average height, and his skin seems a bit squishy and almost frog-like. He wears a dark, thin suit that's almost like a petticoat along with matching pant legs. Appearance (Hologram): The hologram projects hair over his head and natural skin, but otherwise keeps him mostly the same. Home District (see below): Fantasia Bio: A Swiss student studying software engineering in Oxford before his abduction by the Draxans, living a relatively normal life. Working on creating a simple, self-programming AI for his Masters education, he didn't manage to finish the project. Though, he doesn't really regret it since it's long past. He's willing to fight against Omega, but he's not sure what he could do against it. Loves cats. Abilities: Using nanomachines and artificial enzymes, Hans can accelerate chemical processes in his body at an extremely rapid pace, and can alter them at will. This can become increasingly drastic in ways such as creating new, fully functioning organs, allowing him to adapt as he so chooses. He can also manipulate a number of nanomachines that he sounds out of his body, which can deliver organic compounds, break them down, or form new ones from decomposed compounds, to his body. Through deliberate focus, he can also allow the nanomachines to function in other organisms, allowing them to perform the same functions to a lesser degree. Energy Source: Alcohols and sugars such as Ethanol, Glucose, Propanol, Fructose, Sucrose, Methanol, and Butanol. Theme Song (Optional): www.youtube.com/watch?v=T--JS16uSV8

An idea for a character's starting to come together, but it's not all there yet. Would something along the lines of a G-mod/gene-splice be OK? Say, someone spliced with some of dat Setian Orca DNA for dat healing factor?
...Or are we going full-mechanical?

Well, the idea was that every LOTUS has a bit of those aliens in them to make them superhuman, and survive being blown up or thrown into space for a while and things like that. You can have your character focus on biological healing though for sure. All the LOTUSes, for the most part, are genetically and cybernetically enhanced.

Then are humans in the setting just there kind of?

So Doug, should we ignore Eric's panicked awakening or start/finish that interaction? Just Tagging

So I'm torn between two character types, both totally not adaptations of Call of Cthulhu characters I made. One's a relatively young kid with that chu... chuni... uh... (Google) chuunibyou/delusion syndrome thing that uses hologram projections - or maybe some kind of hardlight thing, iunno, he's still relatively un-fleshed out. The other choice would be an older farmer with strength, healing, and photosynthesis.
What sounds more... in-line with the other characters and the setting?

We could use hard-light, though I guess HHD's character could already sort of do that by slowing down light. So far, we have *joey voice* "Toime Woizard!", our resident spy/perv, Dr. Claw, and Animal-Vegetable-Mineral man.

On a scale of "yes" to "no", how serious it's the tone?

The original?
Anywhere from 4-8.
This?
No idea.

Anthea can't slow down light...that's kind of an oxymoron. She slows down time. Light moves at the same speed.
The tone isn't serious, at least, not for every character. Both of your characters would fit in equally well. Think "Marvel movie".
Yes, humans are kind of "just there" at this point. The original pitch for LOTUS was more about fitting into the future human society, but then cosmic-level supervillain happened and now we're talking space samurai.

Damn, might as well stick with Emar then. Yet I feel unsatisfied for some odd reason. Urgh!

Looks like I'll be playing a semi-joke character, then. Though of course I'll be playing it straight. I'll post stat-stuff when I get to a real computer.
Unless anyone really, really wants Farmer Brown meets Adam Jensen and Wolverine.

HHD, GX was wondering what she could use to manipulate ions to do stuff like form alloys and salts.
