I don't really mind my hair being cut. Though, why do they require it? Safety hazard? I.E, covers your eyes when in battle? Should I really worry about the physical test they give you?

Oh okay. I'm still in the military, and I will be in for another decade or so, but after I retire, I'll probably grow it out again. I'll be that one badass neighbour with a ponytail who's a retired General and likes trench coats.

And Fen-Fen, IIRC it's primarily because it's easier to maintain, among all the other potential reasons like the one you mentioned. Some of these guys have to go out in pretty bad environments for long periods of time, and having hair of any decent length would simply be a hindrance.

It's due to safety hazards. Long hair interferes when wearing your ACH(Army Combat Helmet), or Battle Helmet, and it can get in the way when firing your weapon. It can also get caught in machinery, and it can be used against you in hand to hand combat, and more. The physical tests aren't that difficult. Just make sure you can do push ups, sit ups, and run.

If you're not strong, they will make you so.

I can run. Sit ups are slightly more difficult, and I can do push ups. How much do they require of each?

I can run. Sit ups are slightly more difficult, and I can do push ups. How much do they require of each? I only know the Army standards. But I don't think the Force is that different. The numbers also depend on your age. During Basic, you need to do at least 35 Push Ups and 43 Sit Ups in two minutes, and you need to be able to run 2 miles in less than 17:30. For Permanent Party, you need at least 42 Push Ups, 53 Sit Ups, and run a two mile in less than 16:36. If you can meet those standards, you'll do just fine. The Air Force BCT is much easier than Army BCT.

T-two minutes? 35 and 45 in two minutes?! *faints* That's simply the bare minimum. I can do about 50-60 Push Ups and 70-90 Sit Ups in two minutes. It's not that bad though. Don't worry so much. It's running that always kills me.

Or it could be like my case, where I have the time to post but I'd rather try to score the Neutral route in SMTIV. Had to go back 20 levels because I ain't no Lawf**.

*Converts miles to kilometres* Ouch Yeah, I'm dead after a minute of running. Glad I have no military aspirations.
