Is there a World of Remnant on Grimm biology? Since we basically know nothing even though we've shown Grimm being captured alive. You can't dissect GRIMM because they dissolve the moment they die, but there might be. I can look through them. There's like...a lot.

Cinn's... like a pirate...? How? Usually I'm the one making the really weird statements like that. I don't like being in this side of it. He has a cannon. And he smashes things. Put him on a ship and he's a pirate.

But he also has a halberd. And armor. Put him in a castle and he's a knight.
Pirate-knight.

You can dissect something that's still alive.

I don't really understand why it matters. I mean, honestly, who gives a **** what's inside of this thing trying to kill you when you can kill it instead?

Because you can figure out how to kill it better.

Okay, how's this look?
Fenrir's mother, a faunus, was originally married to a human. Living in Vale his whole life, Fenrir's family was...well, strange. Seeing as faunus and humans never really got along all that well, Fenrir often had to tell with ridicule and hate for his faunus heritage. Through this he gained a sort of resentment towards humans and became very defensive. This didn't improve when his father died from extreme anti faunus protesters. This happened when he was fairly young and his mother eventually met and married Pannes' father, a lumberjack. Fenrir got along fairly well with his sister and became very protective over her, trying to keep her from having to endure what he did. Fenrir doesn't really have an interest in being a Hunter, but if he needs to be one to continue watching after his sister, he will. What was she thinking, choosing to spend every day fighting off GRIMM...?
Ever since Joanne was young, she was the best. Or she had to be the best. She has a serious competitive streak. Nobody can stand in her way. If someone challenges her, she'll win. Because she's the best. Or at least she will be. Having gone to school with Cinnabre, she decided he was her rival whether he wanted her to be or not. It's questionable whether or not he even knows he's her rival. She often calls him her pirate rival despite those weirdos that say he's not a pirate. She's the best pirate and she'll show everyone! That's why she's going to become the best Huntress. That way she can prove she's the best. She's also going to wipe the floor with Cinnabre and his team. Take THAT, rival!

Because you can figure out how to kill it better. But we already know how to kill it good. There's books on it.

Okay, now I just need to know if anyone wants to be connected to Violetta or Spearah.
Spearah's family works as lumberers and Violetta comes from a family of well known hunters and huntresses.
You can also be connected to Anubis, Orus, and Niteo if you want. They all come from a village that was destroyed by GRIMM.
If you don't want to be connected to any of them, just say "nah" so I know.

I'm having difficulty settling on a power, and a weapon.
I'm think for a weapon possibly a mancatcher+flamethrower deal, but I'm also trying to think of a good semblance to match. I'm thinking producing flammable tar, but I don't recall any such kind of semblance that secretes a physical substance.

I find that it generally helps to think of the legend of myth first and work with that. Incorporating the story of that character into your weapon can help come up with something unique and interesting like Fenrir's chains.

Can't think of anything for a mancatcher, but some others have come to mind:
Gilgamesh Enkidu Jacob/Israel
All wrestled in famous legends, with Gilgamesh and Enkidu wrestling each other and Jacob/Israel wrestling with God.

Spearah's family works as lumberers. Pannes has a rival, too!? AH! I vaguely remember the legend she was based off!

Too many to list.
