Prologue: A Premonition of Fire

November 23rd, Friday, Valflame Palace, the Imperial Capital

The Imperial Capital was in flames. The great palace of Erebonia was crumbling. The forces of the Railway Military Police were devastated, and the General was dead. The Imperial Army was in disarray. The streets of the once bustling metropolis were eerily deserted and empty. There was only one option left to save their country, even if that meant treason against it. But even then, they knew it wouldn't be easy... Taking down the most powerful man in the world would be nearly impossible for anyone, let alone students... The General's death made that blatantly clear. If the General couldn't stop him, how could they...? But still, they had to try...

"Rowan, look out!"

Raine's cry alerts him, and Rowan turns just in time to parry a shot with his greatsword. A bead of sweat trickles down his forehead. That was too close... One mistep, and he would have been...

Rowan looks over his shoulder at the magical barrier blocking the way to the throne room. "General Rean, Sir! How's the barrier coming? We can't hold them off for much longer!"

As if on cue, the Brigadier General's hair turned white and a crimson aura of power burst to life around him. Rowan's eyes widen. That's...!

The General lashes out with his sword and a shockwave splits the barrier in two, shattering it. A sound like a thousand shards of broken glass raining down fills the hall, and the massive doors to the imperial throne room grind open with one final push. And beyond, their target is plainly visible, sitting proudly on the throne he usurped. He smiles coldly and beckons them forward.

"Go!" Rean shouts. "I'll bar the way behind you!"

Rowan opens his mouth to object, then closes it as he realizes the truth. It's the only way.

"There's no time to argue! My part in this story has been over for a long time! It has to be you all that put a stop to this madness! Now GO!!"

Rowan nods and turns his back, and he and the others charge into the throne room. The massive doors close behind them, leaving Rean to face a thousand enemies alone. Clapping, the Emperor rises from his throne of blood and iron, his smile widening.

"Well done, Class Seven! Well done indeed! I truly did not expect you to get this far. But I'm afraid this is where the curtain closes. The final act is upon us, and what a glorious sight it will be to behold! The empire and the world will be reborn in Her image, and like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we will guide this world towards its true destiny! A world of never-ending war! But you all will not be alive to see it. Now, come, students of a bygone world! Come and face your destiny!!!"

-Boss Battle Tutorial-
At the start of each turn, you will be given a list of all your current characters' combat options and will be able to choose what each character does on their turn. This includes Artes, Crafts, S-Crafts, etc. Sometimes, a character will have an icon next to their name during their turn. This signifies a special bonus that character receives for that turn only. Some bonuses are as follows:

! - The character's first attack this turn is an automatic Crit.
ZA - Zero Artes. This turn, Artes cost zero EP and can be cast immediately.
HP+ - The character's HP is restored by 10%.
CP+ - The character's CP is restored by 10%.
EP+ - the character's EP is restored by 10%.
FA - Free Attack. The character can make one free attack against any enemy in range.
Null - The next attack that hits this character does no damage.

A status update will be posted in the discussion topic first, before the battle begins. For this fight, you have access to all characters, at Endgame levels of power.
