That was an actual question, I'm not familiar enough with RIFTS to know how much level difference and progression rates actually impacts party balance.
Glitter Boy's, I think, the second-slowest growing? But still about 50% faster than dragons.

Yes, dragons gain levels slower in an "attempt" to help balance them out with the party. However, the attempt is very poorly executed. The Devs basically said "Let's just make Dragons take several hundred to over a thousand more EXP to level up than literally every other class and call it a day" and didn't even stop to think about the consequences of that, or if it even made sense in-story, or if it even really helped "balance" them at all. Personally, I think's a terrible decision and does absolutely nothing to "balance" the class.
I'm using quotes for balance because Rifts doesn't have any balance in the first place.

Oh, and yes, level rates affects the party balance a lot, and in all negative ways. Doesn't matter how good a dragon is, if all the other Party members and all the enemies are like 3 levels higher, or more, then that dragon suddenly becomes really ineffective at just about everything. The same goes for other classes too, but the only class who has a significant gap in EXP gain compared to others is Dragon.
Basically, different "growth rates" is an absolutely terrible idea all around, and if I were the GM, it would have been the very first thing I would have changed. But I'm not the GM, so I'll abide by Mystic's decision.

About the stuff you mentioned at the end... There's times when it's supposed to happen, and that was one of those times. And about the thing I said. It's less to do with Shira and more to do with the fact I stuck it in because I've never got to play a character with that sort skill before, and thought it would be fun as a backup. But it doesn't mesh with her character. Survival or something would've been way better. Or demolitions, but I had no way of knowing that at the time. Also, if you mean Celica's OP because of Sechs... You're a GM. Peek at her bio page sometime. I'm partly trying to limit how much it's used at low level and partly we just haven't been in many straight fights). |

I guess a nice, simple "Level Up Checklist" is too much to ask for...
- +1d6 HP
- +ISP (need to check what it is for Major psychics)
- +PPE for mages, I think
- Any SDC change?
- Skills advance
- Strike/Parry/etc bonuses from Weapon Proficiencies
- Changes from Hand-to-Hand abilities
- May learn new skills, maybe? Listed under the class section. None for me.
Am I missing anything?

Alright, GX and Neo, whatever time you want to have the mini session is fine with me. I can do pretty much any day as long as I'm not at school during the time you want to have it. And with the fire sword, we can make that stuff and the dragon mark stuff whenever is best you as well, Neo. If anyone else wants to set up a time to have a mini session during the time skip, that's fine too. It's going to be a few days, so if you would have your character doing anything, I wouldn't mind helping you with that stuff. You can also do some shopping in the Dravania trade center or in the Triet markets if you want. If you have any money. They'll also buy things that you have if you want to sell anything. Of course, you could always just say "Blank did blank during the time skip" and I can tell you the results.

After she finally got a proper explanation, Celica found some way to convince the captain to take her back to the desert, went back to the town, installed the purifier, and... whatever else. She said she'd sit and wait for the others and make sure the thing's working right and ensure the town's adapting to their new water situation OK. I can find time for a mini-session, but if nothing important happens before the others pick her up it's fine to handwave it.

I mean, the people of the town would probably be very grateful and both reward and treat Celica like a hero.
Shira became the Great Fire Dragon, but in order to claim the mark, Xar is going to have to die. She promised to spend a few days with him before then, so it's going to be a few days. So the party is going to be spending a few days in Dravania until moving on to...wherever they're gonna go next.

If I give Shira extra EXP, I'm going to have to give everyone else bonus EXP too. So I guess it's up to all of you. Do you want the bonus 300 EXP for Shira to level up or do you want to just not have the bonus EXP? I'm pretty neutral on it. |

I mean.... I'm already going to miss the session for the week after next week, and I might have to miss the session next week too(I'll let you know when I know for sure). And considering how long it takes Shira to level-up... She's going to start falling behind everyone really, really quickly. And if you scale enemy levels with the party... Well, let's just say Celica is going to have to start using Sechs every battle, because Shira isn't going to be able to tank MDC enemies that are 3-4 levels higher than her.
So, personally, I really want to get her to level 2 soon...
