Ask what the exchange rates are. And if the exchange is one-way, or if we can use this to swap currencies between floors.

"Would you mind telling me the exchange rates then, sweetie?"
"Okay, listen up. Coins and Gil have the same value. 100 Gil or Coins for 1 Bonus Credit. Poke, Triple Yen, and Points are 1,000 for 1 Bonus Credit. I can exchange your Bonus Credits back into whatever you'd like at any time. I can also exchange your money to other kinds. Like Gil to Coins. Or Poke to Triple Yen. Did you get all that? You can spend Bonus Credits on prizes over at my brother's counter or use them on other Bonus Floors."

Oh, thanks, sweetie. What's going on at that prize counter, then?

Flurrie checks out the prize counter run by a man that looks very similar to Flora. He's definitely her brother. It's Rain. "Hey, welcome. Did you want to buy something? We've got all kinds of things here, so if you want something, just name it. I'll look into getting it for you and tell you the price depending on how hard it is to get. You got all that, right?"

Life Scroll? 1-up mushroom? B-52 Stratofortress bomber?

"Those, huh? They're incredibly difficult to come across. I'm afraid it will take up 10,000 Bonus Credits. That's about 1,000,000 Gil. The bomber, however, will not cost quite as much. Somewhere around...30? 35? Yeah, that sounds right."

Definitely, definitely cheaper to just buy Haste and Slow scrolls... We should swing by Chronicle-land and do that at some point before heading to the next floor.
How about a cat costume for Rena, our official Master of Cats? Let's try our hands at the Chocobo Races, I guess?

"Ah, yes, we have quite the assortment of costumes that change your appearance. I believe players call them Skins. Or sometimes Alternate Costumes. There's a variety of names. They change your appearance without changing your abilities. Each set is only 10 Credits. My sister and I will help you get dressed up as well."
While Flurrie speaks with Rain, La Rena checks out the races with K. It looks like there's two ways to play. Either enter the race yourself or simply bet Credits. You'll need a character fit for racing against the Chocobos. Luckily, K actually qualifies if you want to enter a race.

K enters the races and looks around at her opponents. It's mostly Yellow Chocobos. There is one Red Chocobo, however. They each have different abilities as well. Better pay attention to those. Each one can only be used once.
Yellow Chocobo - Frenzy Squawk: Causes the opponent in front to run at top speed, but quickly become tired. Yellow Chcobo - Steal: Steals a nearby opponent's ability, making it possible for the user to use, but not the opponent. Yellow Chocobo - Dash: Gives a sudden burst of speed, but will tire out the user faster. Yellow Chocobo - Snaring Thorns: Entangles all nearby opponents in thorns, holding them in place and destroying their stamina. Yellow Chocobo - Cure: Restores the user's stamina by a little. Yellow Chocobo - Holy Water: Heals all status effects for user and restores some stamina. Red Chocobo - Meteor: Hits the opponent in first place with a meteor, causing an explosion that destroys their stamina and everyone around them's stamina. K - Misfortune: Causes all nearby enemies to suddenly crash.
The racers all get ready and Rena puts down 6 Credits on K. After a countdown, the gates fly open and the racers are off. K doesn't run quite as fast as the Chocobos, running just barely behind all of them at 8th Place. The Red Chocobo clearly runs faster than the others, running just ahead at 1st. The Yellow Chocobos all fill in the inbetween since they are about evenly matched.
What will you do?

Would it be against the rules to make them crash, then mount the red one and ride it?

If you can catch the red one, no. But you'd be hit by any abilities used on the red one as well.

Let's do that, but jump on Snaring Thorns if Big Red crashes too far ahead.

K runs forward and leaps up on top of one of the Yellow Chocobos' backs and rides it, watching the race from on top. Most of the Chocobos are all still tied with the Red Chocobo still in the lead. One of the nearby Chocobos pecks at another and you can see it steal a white light. Another Chocobo squawks loudly and you notice the Red Chocobo up ahead starts to run at top speed, blazing a trail through the course. One of the other Chocobos starts to dash ahead quickly as well. The Red Chocobo is still in 1st with the dashing Yellow Chocobo in 2nd. The other Chocobos are all still close together and K is riding on top of the one with Snaring Thorns.
What will you do?

Chill until Big Red or Turbo Dash starts to get tuckered out.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vb25h_s_kgK relaxes on top of the Yellow Chocobo she rides as it activates its ability. It casts a spell and vines come out of the ground, entangling its opponents. Luckily, K avoided it by riding the Chocobo. One of the snared Chocobos activates an ability, causing holy water to rain around it. It looks like the vines were canceled out and it continues to race, tied with the vine Chocobo. The others are all tangled up and stuck in the back. By the time they escape, they're too far behind to catch up. K notices the exhausted Red Chocobo fall behind the dash Chocobo. Currently the dash Chocobo is in 1st. The Red Chocobo is in 2nd. K, the vines Chocobo, and the holy water Chocobo are in 5th behind them and the other three Chocobos are all the way in last place.

K continues to ride on top of the vine Chocobo and watches as the Red Chocobo casts a spell. A meteor drops from the sky and crashes into the dash Chocobo, knocking it out. The Red Chocobo takes back first as the dash Chocobo is quickly passed by both the holy and vine Chocobo. K then uses her ability while jumping off the vine Chocobo. Her bell rings and her eyes flash, causing the three Chocobos in the lead all to trip and crash into the ground. Making a mad dash for the finish, K ends the race in 1st place, followed by the thief Chocobo in 2nd and the cure Chocobo in 3rd. La Rena wins 12 Bonus Credits, adding them to the cash stash.

Anyone have anything else they want to do? Or can we go buy some scrolls in Chronicle-land?
