Nyl and Raven had a cute mini session that's now almost entirely buried in the chat log. It was mostly Nyl finding out more of Raven's backstory, and it all ended with Nyl holding Raven's hand so she could sleep easier. I can provide a Google Doc that has all the dialogue if you don't want to take longer to load the Roll20 chat than it takes to read it, and you want to see it all.
It's hard to TL;DR backstory, but Nyl is a great best friend.

Other important things discussed:
- Nyl can't actually use much magic, she's just obscenely lucky. Even her lightning arc spell is a lightning bolt from nowhere.
- If you go around town asking question about Larxene or Arlan's daughter, Arlan will nothing personnel behind you with a baseball bat.
- All characters have a cycle they follow.
The Aeva Cycle 1. Get crit 2. Repeat
The Idoun Cycle 1. Gather Power 2. BOOM 3. Repeat 3.1. EXCALIBAAAAAA
The Nyl Cycle 1. "I have a plan." 2. Plan goes horribly wrong due to her overconfidence 3. But it actually works out really well in the end? 4. "I've learned my lesson." 5. Don't learn anything 6. Repeat
The Raven Cycle 1. Summon monster 2. It competent 3. Look away for a minute 4. Wait where the heck did Kiran go this time 5. Repeat
The Seren Cycle 1. See monster attaching friends 2. Beat monster to death 3. New monster is attacking friends 4. Repeat
The Warin Cycle 1. Oh my gods are these idiots trying to get themselves killed 2. Save the idiots from their own stupidity 2.1. Sometimes be the idiot trying to get himself killed 3. Drink 4. Repeat
The Karth Cycle 1. A unicycle with a party hat

Reminders for myself: Nyl and Idoun - Idoun bet Nyl she can't go a month (27 days remain as of getting to the Archmage) without getting into trouble, winner ties the loser up Nyl and Raven - Nyl won't go into the swamp with the healing flower without Raven's permission, or Raven gets the right to tie Nyl up whenever and however she pleases Not that she doesn't already have that if she were to ask Nyl and Farron and Farina - Minisession is happening at some point Nyl and Lavos - Trying to get information and more importantly piss Arlan off by investigating Lavos' son, starting with the cult of Jorm. Of course she needs to make sure news of what she's investigating gets back to Lavos, so that'll need to involve some metaphorical shouting it from the rooftops (read: in a way that is completely obvious but also looks like a way she'd be screwing up)

Lessee what all I can remember for the actual summary...
- Horizon's most recent class just graduated, yay - Raven ran into an old teacher! He said her old mentor's currently in (someone will have to put in the place name because I'm bad at remembering names) practicing a new form of binding, kinky - Farina is running errands and doesn't recognize the heroes nor Nyl - Rita met! Totally normal human farmgirl who can ride leylines and may or may not have found the wellspring of truth but the tarot cards say she's nothing but a magician no secret agenda no greater plans just a girl who wants to experiment (Cheese no) - Maggie wants to talk! - Reveals stuff about how Arlan's daughter is super-well-hidden also talks about Rita who might have found the wellspring whoops - Seren thinks killing her might be for the best but is mostly joking (but Farron doesn't actually disagree at first) but Nyl's very full demon-mom-no about that - More a reminder for me, Nyl has a present for Farron (and vice-versa I think)? - VERY IMPORTANT Farron gave us the key to the Raven quest and it involves getting a flower from the knee/waist-high basilisk bog that Nyl's not allowed to go to by herself at all ever - Nyl decides to take a week off then investigate Lavos, also she took the demon goat and some teleport thingies just in case and left the party a talking stone but the Black thinks talking stones are compromised so shhhh - Nyl actually gives Mr. Cuddly-Floofs to Raven to use if she gets lonely... - Last thing the party sees of Nyl as they leave is Farina recognizing her and cut to Axis
- I actually missed a lot of what happened here because hounds so people fill in what I missed - Getting ready for Edea's coronation - Parties - Edea's pissy because nobles are being little ****s - Seren decides to not-so-subtly threaten them with autographs - Ninian is back to being stable enough to go to work and sing at least, despite the fact she probably earned like a billion years worth of wages in the arena - Bast agrees to come along because it sounds fun and also she likes Karth because he's so innocent and delicious and taken dammit - She also gets free drinks because she saved the bar once - To Santa Cora!
- Raven cowers from Bast because flirting coming from not Miranda and not Nyl also visiting ma and pa - Aeva sends out team to investigate New Port - Warin's willing to take one for the team with Bast and let her tease him a lot - Seren shuts her down completely - Did you know there's a squirrel goddess with a shrine in Santa Cora? - Also Solara gets a shrine, that needs to be corrected (read: smashed) - Off to Drakenhall then to the mountains - The Black doesn't like Bast because of the great tail incident of the 11th age - Aeva warms up to Bast enough to risk patting her on the head once and respects that she likes the feeling of the wind so that's something

I think all that Crow really missed is Seren going to the arena drawn by excited roars and witnessed the Grand Champion (Penthesilea) beat some legendary Black Fang retiree she'd heard of in what looked like a pretty serious fight.

Also note that Seren was in no way joking about the offer to Faron. She just hopes there's never a reason to take her up on it. It's not a "get rid of annoyance" offer, it's a "she's about to be as catastrophic for the world as he Black King, let's not let that happen" offer. Faron did do a great thing by dropping the reminder that Seren is married to someone who found the wellspring, so if it wasn't already obvious, she doesn't believe it's corrupting by nature or that all those who find it need to be put down.
Also, Raven's reaction to Bast isn't about the flirting, but how Bast goes about it. That's why she wasn't reacting as badly to Bast in Axis. But the stalking bit in Santa Cora was a big ******* no for Raven.

• The Knee Deep swamp is not "knee deep" for humans. It's knee deep for full grown giants. And is home to literally hundreds of Basilisks, including the Basilisk King, which is about the size of a Tarrasque. Reminder that all Basilisks have insta-death attacks.
• Smashing any shrine in the Grand Cathedral, even Solara's, would be a very fast way for Aeva to get fired and banished. The Grand Cathedral allows any and all worship, and has shrines for both gods of light and gods of dark, and the Priestess is very serious about maintaining that tradition.

Aw, Neo, you know Aeva wouldn't actually smash the shrine! Not when there's a perfectly good actual Solara to smash.
But seriously what was that place with Raven's master?
Also where(ish) is the swamp? Before you ask, no, Nyl's not going to break her promise. I'm just curious.
Last question, any preference of when to do the archmage stuff? I think you were also doing something with Seren and Edea, right?

Archmage mini session would be fine tonight or tomorrow night.

I'm free both nights.
And that works great, I'm assuming the western mountains aren't far out of the way of the flower. But... probably still a bit early to go through a basilisk den. Unless we can figure out some counter for their insta-death stuff.

Unless we can figure out some counter for their insta-death stuff. The swamp eventually ends right at the foot of the Western Mountains. But you can also get there from just traveling beyond the Frost Mountains or Moonwreck, which is much less dangerous. Even if you guys were all level 10 and had your strongest allies the Knee Deep would still be very dangerous. But it would be doable. Now? Not so much. The only real way to deal with a large number of Basilisks is to kill them before they can kill you. The Knee Deep is legit one of the most dangerous areas in the campaign, and is only one of a handful Iconic tier environments. So even basic skill checks are hard to pull off. It's not just the sheer number of Basilisks either- Basilisks drastically change and shape the environment. Lakes of toxic poison miles wide, geysers of burning sulfur, acid winds that disintegrate anything they touch, negative energy showers that melt all living things other than Basilisks. It's no exaggeration to call it hell on earth. There's a good reason why Selene hasn't gone to cure her kid yet.

Minisession summary:
- See above for how horrible a Hellscape the swamp is - Seriously Nyl wouldn't ask Rai to go, heck Nyl wouldn't even go there herself - Maggie wants to weaponize said swamp against the cult, but isn't sure how - She also has some ideas about magic items that might help the exploration - Other ideas to fix Raven: ask the Fae for ideas, ask an efreeti for help (note: that should normally be easy, but Solara), give her some Idoun-blood, wait for Miranda to figure something out, ask the PoS to retrieve the flower, murder the vampire that did it (probably wouldn't fix the problem, but it'd be fun) - No, Rita isn't some horrible monster abomination, she's just really good at absorbing and quickly firing off magic from the surrounding leylines - Family bonding! - Nyl actually ends up getting a nice, long vacation (only 9 days left of staying out of trouble!)

Oh, right. Also, Fairy mentioned how she tried to escape the cult several times, and it always ended bad. But Selene protected her, so she ended up kinda idolizing Selene. She's really glad they both switched sides. Nyl goes from acutely aware to acutely aware and freshly reminded that Juli doesn't even have Nyl or Selene for comfort anymore and her friend in the cult, Pinky, kinda hates her last we heard.
Also-also Neo thinks the Idoun shipping war is over.
