Mercenaries theme better be The Devoted. .... I think you have the wrong picture here. Which is probably my fault as the writer. There is no "mercenary company". There will be you and one other guy guarding the caravan. The other guy will join along with your real convoy later, but as for everyone else, they're pretty irrelevant. The merchant in charge of the caravan will make you want to kill him later if you see him again in Daram, and there will be extra dialogue and scenes with the Merchant's Guild which will unlock a Gaiden Chapter to recruit a certain legendary Blue Haired Merc, but that's it. The mercenary option is only for getting your convoy a couple chapters earlier than you would have anyway. That's really the only perk of choosing B, aside from the extra events in Daram and the Gaiden Chapter. I tried to tell you guys that. Edit: Oh, and you'll have access to a Secret Shop that you wouldn't get otherwise. So there's that at least. Eh, close enough.

I changed the theme for the Elmine Theocracy, because I think this one fits much better. So enjoy. I'm going to update tomorrow, too tired to do so now.

Update probably won't be for a while, cause I have to create the characters of the Retainers you'll be able to recruit, since they'll be playable. That means I also have to write supports for them, and all sorts of stuff. Because of this, you'll only have a choice of 4 Retainers.
Now, since we're coming up on Chapter 2 finally, I have to explain how Paralogues and Gaiden Chapters are going to work.
Because there aren't children characters in this CYOA, there aren't as many Paralogues. There are 5 Paralogues in Part 1 and 5 Paralogues in Part 2. Paralogues are timed missions, meaning that you have to do them within a certain amount of Chapters, or they become inaccessible. For example, Paralogue 1 must be done as soon as it becomes available in Chapter 3. If you decide to skip it and go straight to the main story, you permanently miss out on that Paralogue. There are several different types of "rewards" for doing Paralogues, but most have recruitable characters in them.
Choosing not to do a Paralogue can have lasting consequences- both good and bad- as all Paralogues are connected to the main plot in some way. But that's all Ima say.
Gaiden Chapters are rarer and fewer, but are significantly more important than Paralogues, and cannot be skipped. However, they can still be missed. All Gaiden Chapters have very specific requirements to unlock, but you can figure out which Chapters have possible Gaiden Chapters tied to them if you pay very close attention to the enemies, map objective, map layout, and story. I will give you one hint, but only one: Look for the Stars.

Any teasers as to the retainers we'll get to choose? Sure, wynaut. A stoic and loyal retired General of Elmine, who now serves House Gracewind as a combat instructor. Renowned for his impenetrable defense and vast knowledge.A cool and collected young Archer, only son of a once distinguished family of Archers and Craftsmen, now serving House Gracewind to repay a debt. Carries his father's legendary bow.A brash and arrogant young mage, and the star pupil of Duchess Marion, who believes he's destined to be the greatest mage in history. Has a love for theatrics. An infamous former Bandit Leader with a dark and mysterious past, serving House Gracewind in order to find redemption. Grizzled, experienced, and gruff, but loyal to a fault.

Alright, almost done. Should have the update up tonight. You guys wanna see the stats of all four characters to help you decide, or just have it be a surprise? Whomever you choose won't be playable right away, but will join at the start of Chapter 3, along with Erin.

I'd prefer a surprise. I think I'll be voting for the Bandit.

Dunno if I'll be able to update today. I have to go run a lot of errands, and the STARS campaign is tonight. Sorry gaiz. To tide everyone over, I added two new songs to the Soundtrack that I forgot to add before. Also, would you guys like me to bring back Infobumps from UB? So when I don't have time to do a full post, or a vote is taking a while, you guys still have something to read?

Guess what's baaaaaaaaack! Once I stopped trying to rewrite the same post I lost, and instead started writing the scene from scratch in a different way, it was really easy. Still took me like 2 hours to finish though.
