Also, are magic potions a thing in FE or is it just health pots? I can answer that, to save CDM some time. Magic is used by Tomes. No one has innate magic. The Tomes can become unusable after repeated use, but you can just buy more. "Health pots" are Herbs, Vulneraries, and Elixirs. There are five types of magic: Fire, Wind, Thunder, Light, and Dark. Ninja'd, baby.

So is your character a militiaman or not, or have you not decided? Not sure just yet.

We need a name for this. I hate looking at Name Here! Get to work people! You won't be getting a paycheck in the next few hours if we have no name!
I have to get this to the headlines of the Biessel Newspaper by tomorrow! If I don't, you're all fired!

CDM, can I be the Dragon King? Please? Pretty please?
Also, hmm... Black wings... Could be the result of them being covered in ash and soot for far too long, if she's a Royal who was trapped in a fire... Though that's just a bit too similar to the canon. Maybe it's a taint or a curse from some powerful Dark Mage?

That's a ton of food.

Maybe it's a taint or a curse from some powerful Dark Mage? How is that similar to the canon? The female Royal Heron, Leanne, was found mysteriously alive in Serenes Forest, even after twenty years. She had been kept safe from the fire itself, but she was still exposed to an ocean of soot and ash for two decades. The only difference is that her wings weren't affected because of the Galdr that kept her safe. Of course, if this idea interests you, then we can always tweak and change things to fit your character.

I thought there were cure spells that come from staffs and rods? Do they ever mention what makes those tomes then?

Staves and rods are a thing too, and so are magic weapons like the Levin Sword.

So is Solgen a rarity in that all laguz species live together? Yes. Most countries have a dominant population of 90% or more, with only token members of other races/tribes living there. Dignitaries, traders, a few oddballs. And for symbolism's sake, Solgen is now in the center-ish of the continent. And I'm still not clear on what "laguz" is. Is it an identity shared by all non-humans? Technically not. Laguz work a bit differently. Basically, taguel and manakete seal their "true" forms in stones, which they use to shift into them. For the sake of the RP, taguel will function like laguz. Is the difference between a manakete and taguel and kitty like the difference between a white, black, and latino human? Uh... Sure. I don't know actually. Sadly, Awakening doesn't let you cross-breed a manakete and taguel. Or, I should say that you can pair two up, but you don't see the result. Sadly. So I don't know if they're reproductively compatible. So if they're not as smart or innovative as humans, is the entire kingdom stagnating technologically compared to other human civilizations in the world? Particularly gifted humans can still advance to some degree - architects, engineers, tacticians, even serving as advisers to the king himself - so technological growth isn't completely stagnant, just significantly slowed compared to the other beorc countries. It's still competitive with most laguz countries. Of course, beorc in such high positions are treated contemptuously by their laguz peers, and straight-up hated by laguz they outrank. If only humans can use magic, is there any sort of magic study in the kingdom? Officially, the study of magic is outlawed. Unofficially, magic is studied in small, hidden schools or passed down through families. These practices are allowed to continue because many high-ranking laguz nobles, including the king, understand there is some value to having a few well-trained mages in their pocket. What about the human rebellion? Oh, they love mages. Every mage they can get their hands on. Anyone who might even possibly be able to learn magic is encouraged to try. How does your average laguz treat your average human and vice versa? It depends on their race and age, largely. Particularly old laguz who remember when beorc and laguz worked together may treat them with a kind of respect or wistful near-friendship. Those that were young during the open conflict, the first civil war, are inclined towards fearfulness. Laguz younger than that mostly differ based on their race. Crows tend to disregard beorc, hawks think of them as servants. Cats and tigers usually think of humans as playthings. Dragons are typically regarded as the least friendly. Herons, the most. Wolves are very hit-or-miss. Taguel can be very friendly, then turn around and be cruel depending on their mood. And naturally, there's a large amount of variance among individuals. For beorc, disposition's largest influence is their local ruler. Those that come from fiefdoms with cruel masters are the ones joining the rebellion, while those who've been treated kindly for the most part are siding with the militia. For the mostpart, beorc know to treat the guys that can shift into lions and tigers and very large birds with a good deal of respect. ...should I bother asking these questions? Yes.

Also, since it ended up at the bottom of the page, I want to double-mention that I answered all of Mr. Taguel's questions from before. At the bottom of 9.
