I'm relatively new here, but my CYOA's are fairly well-known on Gfaqs, so if you're not interested in some noob's writing then skip over this. I've wanted to use this as a way to break out of my comfort zone and make a CYOA that's not about Fire Emblem. So without further ado, here's my new CYOA, Pokeshock. This is a combination of the story elements of Bioshock and the characters and mechanics of Pokemon...
Prologue: Many years ago, Cinnabar Island was destroyed in a Volcanic eruption, although many of it's citizens moved to other cities in the Kanto Region, Cinnabar Island was eventually rebuilt underneath the ice floor of the surrounding Seafoam Islands, making it an underwater city, which was built by the finest minds in the Pokemon World, many people moved to the new city of Cinnabar. However, the city quickly grew into a state of chaos with a few detrimental discoveries.
It was discovered that experience points can not only be used on pokemon, but humans as well and that includes the pokemon stats boosting drinks. These would rapidly affect human strength, giving them great power and allowed them to use the TM's and HM's used by pokemon. Humans gradually began to rely less on thier pokemon and more on themselves as they used the experience points and the supernatural powers it gave them, causing thier minds to be completely taken over and addicted to Exp.
Humans began to rely on themselves to battle and gain more experience by killing people and pokemon for thier experience. The desire for more Exp caused the once great Utopia of Cinnabar to crumble, pokemon were no longer friends, but now tools for gaining more experience for the humans. The humans sent baby Pokemon all over the city to collect exp from dead corpses and were protected by thier "Big Daddy" evolutionary form who ensured that the pokemon would be safe from those who want the exp for themselves. The city of Cinnabar is in complete unrest, but all of that will soon change.
