If we don't eat we will whine and b**** about not eating.
Also, I'm banking on the others being out eating as well, and I figure it'll get our characters to the point of understanding they can interact with people in shops.

Mike pedaled up to Zachi before dismounting to keep at her pace. "Hey, let's eat. Got somewhere in mind?"
"No. I don't really eat out." Zachi replied.
Mike nodded. "I guessed as much. Well...plenty of variety downtown."
They continued walking towards where food would be. Mike was about to head to the mall but Zachi turned down a different street.
"Where you going?" Mike called.
Zachi didn't turn before speaking, so Mike had to follow up. "It might be difficult to buy food seeing as we're dead, invisible, and our money is in the form of pins," she answered, "I'm looking for a place that looks easy to loot...or somewhere that takes pins"
Mike blinked. Uh...right. Duh. Trust her to think of those things I guess.
They made their way down past the intersection they first woke up. It wasn't too busy, but there were people out and about. It's lunch time so a bunch of restaurants had lines. Mike looked around. Burgers, crepes, rice bowls, pizza, ramen, coffee, sandwiches, curry, tacos, if there's one thing this city has it's variety. They needed some place they could just pop in and swipe some food. One of those sushi places with to-go boxes maybe.
Zachi suddenly sped up.
"Hey," Mike called, "what-" but then he stopped when he saw what she saw, and he biked on ahead. Spencer and CC were lounging against a wall outside a restaurant. He was putting a hot dog in her mouth.
"Hey, Wheels! There you guys are." Spencer said upon seeing them, cheerily as ever. CC's mouth was full, but she smiled and made a sort of "mmph!" sound. Spencer continued "No hard feelings about yesterday, alright man? We got our asses kicked, we got it."
"Uh...yeah. We survived I guess, no...no biggie."
Mike looked at the strangeness that was CC. Besides the fact that Spencer was feeding her, she wasn't wearing her crop-top anymore. Instead she wore a white short-sleeved cardigan tied around her neck, over a tight black tube top that exposed both her shoulders and midriff. It had spaghetti straps but they weren't exactly doing anything to keep the garment on. She wore a denim miniskirt tied by a black belt, and had black thigh-high boots. Yesterday her her brown hair hung at shoulder length, but it was now tied back into a pony-tail out of her face. She looked short and sweet, but he was going to hope from the way she dressed that she's older than she looks.
Spencer caught Mike staring and chimed in. "Yeah she's cute isn't she?"
"No, he just likes staring at people." Zachi said from behind Mike. Her voice came out of nowhere. It spooked him a little.
Mike verbally flailed. "Ah! Uh...no! Sorry it's just, the wardrobe change and...well, you're feeding her."
CC swallowed to respond, "I can't use my arms. Entry fee I think. Spency's so nice though. He's the biggest help, like, ever! My top yesterday kept falling off so I naturally had to change."
Spency?
"Sorry for ditching you guys last night," Spencer added on, "But shopping was a priority."
CC nodded her head and Spencer gave her another bite. Mike was about to ask, but Zachi spoke before Mike had a chance to. "You stole the clothes then. And the food?"
Spencer replied, "Stealing was the plan, but it turns out we're visible in the stores we're not banned from." He pointed at a section of the wall nearby, which was covered in some sort of red graffiti tag. It reminded Mike of the same symbols the Noise spawn from.
CC swallowed and spoke again, "If there's no red mark we can't get inside. I couldn't go to my usual stores, I had to get this top from that D+B import place!"
Because the brand of clothing you wear while dead totally matters...right...
"The marks cash your money pins too. Just tap them." Spencer added. Zachi wasted no time testing it out. She tapped a $50 pin on the symbol and it fizzled into a $50 bill.
"You want something Mike?"
He looked again at what this place was. Japadog. Oh, it figures this place would be one of the restaurants they could go to. Someone had the bright idea of putting Japanese food on a hotdog. Of course it took off. It went from a street cart to a restaurant franchise in 5 years.
"Yeah uh...I'll have what you're having."
Zachi shrugged and went inside.
"But you know, Spencer said, staring off, "What would happen if we did steal? Run outside and we're invisible again. And what are they gonna do, kill us?"
CC nodded again. Spencer stuffed the last of the hotdog in her mouth, and wiped it with a napkin afterwards.

C) Between that skinny girl in the crop top and the wiry guy reading the paper E) The skinny girl in a crop top, trying hard but somehow unable get up off the ground Over on the other side he saw that wiry guy and the skinny girl apparently supporting each other to stand as two pistols floated over the girls' shoulders and simply shot up any frogs that got close with extravagant laser blasts. the other pair seemed to be muttering to each other in private. It was with their backs turned that Mike noticed the rather large out-of-place paper bow pinning up Claudia's shirt But you know, it could be made explicit too. |
