Oh... Right. Maybe it's tied to the style... Striker.

They let you play as a kitty in this game. :3
This pleases me.

Oh... Right. Maybe it's tied to the style... Striker. That'd be why. Striker Style has some moves taken out and some combos switched around. Not as much as Adept or Aerial, but still a few.

I don't get aerial. Sometimes it lets me launch up. Sometimes it doesn't.

I can't wait to hunt Lagi in this game. It's been so long since I've gotten to fight that mean leviathan.

I don't get aerial. Sometimes it lets me launch up. Sometimes it doesn't. You have to jump on things to jump again. That's the extent of my knowledge on Aerial Style. Ask GX, she's the Aerial girl.

Aerial: B to do aerial evasion, then press B again when in contact with something to leap off of (other hunters, a palico, monsters), then X when you're ready to turn your descent into a diving attack (which can be aimed).
Practice. Lots and lots of practice needed. But nearly endlessly spammable when you've got it down, and you rarely get hit that way so long as you know how to manuever so that the evasion technique steers you clear of attacks. So far Tetsu has been the best to practice on.

Tetsu is always the best to practice on.

Yeah, I found it myself a bit ago. Thanks tho.
So, I just soloed my first GEC(Giant Enemy Crab) of MHG. Took a while(Like 20 minutes), but that was only because I had to constantly sharpen and it wouldn't stop going underground. Still really easy. Got 2 Monster Bone Ls for my trouble, so I can almost upgrade my Scythe now. The small enemy crabs drop Sharp Claws for anyone who's curious.
Edit: Crap, I need Sharp Fangs to upgrade my scythe, not Sharp Claws...
Edit2: Konchus drop Sharp Fangs. Easy enough to get.

So... if I follow the plot right... so far... we're basically a town-improvement and PR agent?

So... if I follow the plot right... so far... we're basically a town-improvement and PR agent? "Plot". Lol. Sorry to break it to you Crow, but this ain't 4U. Generations is more like the older MH games. Meaning the "plot" is basically just "New hunter hunts monsters for good people of tribe. They treat hunter like friends. Hunter like friends. Oh no! Big scary monster threatening village! Must kill or village will be destroyed! Hunter smash, hunter win. Roll credits."

So you're telling me I can go smash giant monster with axe without needing to justify smash giant monster with axe beyond want make bigger axe for smash bigger monster? You already do things that can't be justified with any "plot". Like ripping the livers out of unconscious Kelbi, who later wake up and run off into the forest, without the liver they need. I doubt you leave any portion of their liver with how the game puts it, so it can't regrow. They just go on about the short rest of their lives as they either bleed to death, or assuming you for some reason took the time to stop the bleeding, are unable to filter toxins out of their blood and it poisons them. Cheery. Monster hunters are such awesome people, aren't they?

The fact they prance off so effortlessly after losing a major organ - or their pelt - makes me think Kelbi are actually some kind of magical beast.

Swaxe has a really awesome Aerial style, since in blade mode you do an attack on the launch and can immediately go into the overdrive explosion.
