"I'm pretty sure that's not random, seeing as how I just stained mine with coffee." Cyprian pointed out where the coffee spilled.

"Thanks, Blair! Y'know when breakfast'll get started?" The priestess looks to her fellow human and cocks her head to the side. "You haven't heard of Nobodies, kiddo? I don't suppose that's very surprising... They're basically people who died from the Heartless. Funny thing is, despite the name, they're the ones who lack hearts." Naria smiles as though she just told an excellent joke, and then looks at her coffee. "But don't judge me for the name, I'm pretty sure it was one of them who came up with it."
"Mm." Staring down at the collection of albums, Jenka taps his foot to the rhythm in the streets as several Blue Rhapsodies assault the store owner. Just as quickly as he burst into the store, the young man's hands shoot up to his ears, covering them. "GAAAAGGHHHH! WHAT THE HELL?!" Looking outside, his eyes see nothing but the damaged street where Red Nocturnes still danced, but his ears heard and his body feel... something. He can't specify it, only that it is... "Loud." Stepping out of the shop, Jenka hops up on top of one of the buildings so effortlessly he may as well have glided, and then dashes across several rooftops. One, two, three hops, and he looks down as his earbuds fall out and dangle over the street. " You." His voice booms despite the vibrations of the bass in the air. The young Keyblade wielder below him has caught his eye, and he can't determine why. " The hell are you, and why're you so loud?" Mark looks up from his rampage; eyes bemused by the thing in front of him. He swiftly evades another Red Nocturne's musical notes, and smashes it before facing Jenka. "Me? Loud? You have the wrong freaking idea buddy! Who are you, and why the bloody hell are these things attacking my home? You picked the wrong day to invade." Mark growled, holding his keyblade in a two-handed grip. He contemplated scaling the wall to reach this thing, but decided against it. "Answer me!"

Moran entered the kitchen of the Empty House. It wasn't exactly castle banquet size, but it was appropriate for your typical sit-down restaurant. This fact was actually more to the House's detriment, as much of the equipment was too large for the predominantly Moogle staff. Unfortunately they hadn't yet found any complete Nobodies who were chefs in their past lives, and the Dusks, while capable fighters, are rather terrible with a kitchen knife. The facilities here were actually scavenged from an abandoned restaurant elsewhere in Traverse Town, so they made due with what they had. Moran watched as Moogles worked away cooking eggs in frying pans they could fit inside of. Others worked in teams to grate cheese and chop vegetables, while yet others were on fruit juicing duty.
Moran sipped his coffee. Hm, this is new. It's good, but new. Why wouldn't Blair just get the usual black? She's been acting kinda strange lately...anyways, his eyes caught a Moogle watching bacon catch fire inside a toaster and rushed over (why they had a toaster when they never bought bread was beyond them).
"No Kupo! You fry this!"
He rescued the meat and scooped it up into a frying pan. The Moogle who was trying to cook the bacon argued with him.
"Well don't blame me! Moogles never eat meat kupo!"
Moran changed his left arm into a spatula and began cooking things properly.
The moogle continued, "I was the only one brave enough to touch the stuff kupo! I should get a raise!"
"We'll discuss this later kupo," Moran replied, "Breakfast is already delayed and I am personally quite hungry. Please fetch me some extra pans. I'll do it all at once."
The Moogle complied. As he cooked, Moran leaned over to another moogle cooking eggs next to him and asked, "No meat, but fish and eggs kupo?"
"Those aren't meat." she replied.
"...right" Moran nodded. Some lack of memory inside of him probably wanted to disagree but it wasn't heard over the sizzling of the bacon.
In a few minutes, breakfast was prepared. A stack of very large buffet bins of scrambled eggs mixed with spinach, tomatoes and peppers, and a full bin of bacon, were currently being carried out by six moogles. Six other moogles were carrying out pitchers of juice, and six more on top of that were busy setting the table in the main hall.
Moran knelt down to the moogle beside him, "Please ring the food bell kupo."
"Yessir kupo!"
The moogle flew off, and soon Moran could hear the chiming. He walked over to stand in the main hall, waiting for everyone to help themselves before him.

"Breakfast is done already? But I haven't even had time to drink all my coffee yet..." Blair complained as she walked ito the table, but the complaints stopped as soon as she started making her plate. She was careful to get more than enough bacon, knowing very well that once Cyprian entered there would be no bacon left at all. Fortunately for everyone else, he had a tendency to fall asleep between drinking his morning cup of coffee and breakfast, and of course he never, ever wanted to wake up, which gave everyone else enough time to make their plates before he took everything else that was left.
This only made Blair question why Moran insisted on waiting for the others to serve themselves before he ate, but even more than that she questioned how someone was able to survive on the mere crumbs that were left by then. After contemplating this for a few moments, she seemed to mentally shrug it off. If it didn't effect how the job was done, she didn't care. And of course, she was really exaggerating Cyprian's appetite and the amount of food he ate... Well, at least she probably was.

Cyprian rapidly shoveled handfuls of food since he knew that the others couldn't care about his poor manners and he couldn't care either.
"Blair, what do you think about today's food?"

They're just like children a lot of the time, Naria thought quietly as she watched Blair and Cyprian argue, Moran act so eager to please, and Cyprian's horrid manners. She refused to call him out on his behavior, mostly because it reminded her of her fellow vikings back home. As she readied her plate, she found herself wondering for the umpteenth time if Nobodies truly even needed to eat. Swallowing a mouthful of egg, she asked "Aren't Heartless heartless because the heart's all they are? And same for you guys? Like, I can't say I have human, or anything like that. Eh. Moran, are you gonna announce while we eat, or..?" A sip of her coffee, and the viking girl sidetracked herself to wondering if Heartless could taste. "You yell. Smash. There's a show going on." Jenka rockets off the top of the building, aiming directly for the young Keyblade wielder in front of him. Shadows trail from his arm and face, shrouding his hand like a claw as he begins to swipe. "Shut up."

Mark pointed Phantom Heart at Jenka. "Fire!" He screamed, rolling out of the way of the claws. He winced as the claws grazed his shoulders, and his arm smashed into the wall when he stood to his feet. Fast, he thought, noting something. He jumped up, closing his eyes before pointing Phantom Heart at Jenka again.
"What show?! Thunder! Aero! Fire!" He exclaimed in quick succession. Thunder came down, wind raged, and fire amplified wind.

Twisting his body, Jenka landed limply, his body springing up after having narrowly avoided the flames. "My sho-" Struck by the Thunder spell as he spoke, Jenka flinched, leaving himself vulnerable to the rough winds, and the fiery burst that followed. The smoke cleared, and he stood, bleeding lightly in several places. Flicking a droplet of blood off his arm, Jenka muttered "Needle." The droplet stopped in midair, blackened, and extended a dark spike at the Keyblade wielder.

*clink clink clink clink!*
The sound of metal tapping against glass. Moran's finger reverted back form the shape of a fork as he stood at the front of the table.
"If I may have your collective attentions kupo, I wish to address the House!"
He didn't expect anyone to stop eating, so he carried on all the same.
"As everyone should note, the Heartless have been appearing more frequently than ever before. And while our defenses remain strong, they come in greater numbers every day. We have reached a point where we are no longer secure taking only defensive measures. To ensure the safety of our House, I call to order an official investigation into the Heartless threat. We must learn everything we can about this adversarial force. Why do them come? Where do they come from? And most importantly, how do we stop them?"
He waved an arm, and two Moogles flew in holding a large parchment. On it, a crayon drawing was scrawled out to form what looked to be a map. In the middle there was a round icon with a lamp post, clock tower, and fountain labelled "Traverse Town", which was surrounded by many other similar icons.
"There exist many more worlds than the one we currently inhabit. All of us save for the Moogles were once denizens of these other worlds, and it is there that we will find our answers. Bishops! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to travel to these worlds to gather as much information on the Heartless as possible. This is not a task to be taken lightly. I have not received word from other worlds in a long time, so it may be possible that they are in great peril from the same Heartless threat we face here. I understand that your memories may compel you to help these worlds, so I will not forbid you to assist those in need."
Moran pointed the the icons on the map as he spoke.
"Twilight Town, The Land of Departure, Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands. These worlds of Harmonia are close to our own, and therefore may have the greatest need for assistance. However, I believe we will learn more should we venture to the outer worlds: World A, Gran Pulse, Ivalice, Gaia, and the other worlds of Dissidia. I will leave each of you to choose which world to investigate, and for some of you, it may be a welcome visit home. I will be staying here, as will the Clerics, to guard the House in your absence.
My friends, kupo, this mission will be dangerous, but it will be the greatest and most important undertaking in the history of the Empty House. We begin preparations as soon as this meal ends. In the meantime, I will take any of the numerous questions you must have."

Naria raised her hand, but didn't wait to be called on before speaking her mind. "I'm just a Priestess. Am I going too? You only mentioned you and the Clerics." Trying to maintain eye contact, she bit into a handful of bacon strips.

Mark leapt out of the way, making for a hard roll to avoid the spike. It crashed into the wall, going through the stone with ease. With a two-hand grip, Mark zipped forward to strike at Jenka with an overhead strike. He was still clumsy with the Keyblade, but the weapon seemed to guide his hand. Phantom Heart hit Jenka in the shoulder once, twice, and then thrice as slammed it into his side, his breath labored after the quick, successive strikes.
"Get out of this town." He said coldly.

Ow, Jenka thought, looking at the weapon bursting open his shoulder. The first swing split the skin open, the second dug further, while the third landed with a dull thud. The blood scattered on the weapon pulsed, and hardened, clinging the weapon to the Heartless's arm. "Quit interrupting the show."
As a Turquoise March and a Red Nocturne approached from behind Mark, Jenka clawed at the boy's face with his free arm. A Green Requiem, alerted to Jenka's injuries, began flying over from a block away.

Mark stumbled back, raising his arm in defense. He let out a yell as his forearm was raked. He nearly dropped his Keyblade, retreating and watching Jenka warily. The blood rolled down his arm in streams. "What show?" He repeated, wondering why this guy kept talking about a show. There were no musicians in Twilight Town...

Moran tilted his head towards Naria. "I leave that choice up to you kupo. I have no lack of faith in your skills to perform valiantly here or abroad."
He sipped his coffee figuring that he'd find something more to eat later.

"Gran Pulse, is well..." Cyprian trailed off a bit before looking at Blair.

Jenka scowled at the boy in front of him, snapping his fingers so the Heartless atop the tower would aim heir blaring horns towards the two of them. "Beat's banging, better bring it big, or bounce, b****." As the distant, yet loud, Heartless did so, the three surrounding Jenka and Mark began charging spells. "'Bout to blast it in blood, I'm back in this, Black Brick." Suddenly swinging his arm forward, the Heartless leader lobbed a dark, yet transparent box, as tall as himself. The surrounding Heartless cast their spells at the same time aiming a Cure at Jenka, and Blizzard and Fire spells at Mark.

Mark couldn't dodge them all. He swung Phantom Heart forward, hoping to slice the box in half. Whatever it was, it worked, and he was thrown back by the force, slamming into the wall despite his effort. And his Keyblade was stuck. "Damnit!" He looked up, and ducked under the box, watching the sizzling firebal smash into the wall and splutter.
The blizzard caught him in the right leg, freezing its way upwards towards his hip. Mark stumbled and fell backwards, beating at the rigid ice with the hilt of his Keyblade. It cracked, and he managed an idea. "Fire!" The box was devoured by the starving flames. "Fira!" He called, using what he recently observed from the Heartless. A large fireball soared forth, knocking the blizzard-casting Heartless away. It diapered into darkness.
Mark nearly stumbled again as his body protested. He couldn't fight much longer. "Explosion!" Before he knew it, he was firing fireballs everywhere, watching them bounce around the walls. His body gradually skidded backwards with each launch. He held his Keyblade forward, concentrating. "Firaja!" The words were said to him in his mind. Before he knew it, a large fireball came forth from Phantom Heart, consuming the alley in flames.
Mark smashed the ice with the hilt once more, watching it break away. He kneeled, breath coming out as wheezes. That should be the end of that freak.

"I'll focus on someplace other than Radiant Garden. I do still have some connections there, so I think if aid was needed I could scrape something up. I'll pass over that for now."
And I don't particularly want those connections knowing what's become of me just yet... I'll leave that drama for later, and only if it's necessary for me to go back.
Blair seemed to think about her other possibilities for a moment, then confidently spoke. "I'll head to World A and see what's going on there. If anyone else wants to go somewhere but can't decide where that should be, I say they should tag along. A team can cover ground faster than one person can alone."

"Blair has a good point." Cyprian looked at Moran. "I don't think I can cover all of Gran Pulse by myself. I'll be going with Blair. It might be fun, I guess. Don't know how I would know."

Moran nodded in response to his House's comments.
"Travel in teams as you will, for safety comes in numbers. Each of you may take a score of the Laity, but choose their classes wisely for without my presence they cannot change forms at will.
Following this meal you may travel as you please. IF you are not already dressed, the Moogles in shop have prepared garments for greater protection against the Corridors of Darkness should you wish to use them. I know not the full effects of the Corridors, but that amount of Darkness cannot be healthy even for us, kupos."
He turned and waved to some of the Moogle staff, to come and start clearing the table. He mentally prepared a job change to "Dishwasher" for later.
The World That Never Was
"Eeney..."
Arrow in a right hand, pointed at a shadowy portal to an odd little town.
"Meeney..."
Ring on the left hand, pointed at a shadowy portal to a city at war
"Miney....Moe."
Rydan tossed the arrow aside, letting it clatter to the castle roof he was standing on. It'd be there when he got back.
