"Ghuh! Would you please just come with me?! I... I'd rather not be alone..." Kyrie turned her eyes away as she calmed down.

"Only if we can avoid contact." He spoke.

"...Thanks. W-where should we go? I mean, if you're really still worried, we need somewhere... somewhere you won't mind radiating." Looking up, she suggested "Like... a power plant? That sounds dull, though... Oooohhh," she said, lighting up. "Maybe somewhere full of criminals, and deadbeats? People you might actually want to give cancer?" She smirked as she finished. If we're really supposed to be walking weapons, this might be really fun. Or really dull. I hope this guy's less predictable than he seems.

"No." Manhattan gave her a stern look as he towered over her. "You don't understand. It is not my place, and cancer would be the least of their worries."

Sighing, Kyrie relents, "Fine. You figure out where to go. We need to mix with the population, and we should probably figure out what those reptiles did to us, what weapons we've got and everything. Where would you suggest we go for that?"

"I already know what I can do." He told her as he lowered himself. "That's why I stay away."

Her hands stayed by her sides, crossed around her as she talked. "There's still the mingling thing. We're supposed to be doing that too. Reconnecting with human society, or whatever. If you know what you can do so well, then you know where would be best for us to go. Lead the way, or at least tell me where."

"Away." He replied as he walked towards his usual place. "The maintenance tunnels are always empty."

Following Manhattan, Kyrie responded "Uh-huh. So, if they're always empty, then how are we going to reconnect with humanity there?"

"We're not." Manhattan put it bluntly as he opened one of the few doors to the maintenance area. "We're seeing what you can do."

"Y'know, in a movie or something, that would probably be intimidating. Anyway, we're gonna have to reconnect with people eventually. Even if not now, you should figure out how you'll go about that." Brushing by a pipe, Kyrie thinks "How does he move so easily in here? There's so many things to hit into or trip over. He needs to watch his head too... How long has he been awake down here?"

"You will." He replied as he crouched under a large cluster of pipes. "I won't. Plus, I haven't seen any movies."

"Not even as a human? And you should. You might be business-appropriate, but who knows what we might be forced to do for these lizard people? Might get some fairly social assignments. You seem like the kind of guy who likes to be prepared, so you should be prepared for that. How deep into these tunnels are we going, anyway?"

"Several kilometers at least." He answered. "I might have seen a movie as a human. I don't remember anything from then. Just waking up."

"So, is Manhattan even your real name then? Do you even know?" Looking him up and down, she inquires further. "And is it amnesia, or do you not even have a human brain anymore?"

"Amnesia."

"Really? How long have you been awake? They treated you like a new arrival, but you seem fairly comfortable with all of this. And can't we go any faster? I'd like to get around to furnishing my apartment before midnight." This far into the tunnels, Kyrie was forced to have her hands off of her hips, reaching out to keep her moving safely and at a decent pace around all of the pipes and wires.

"We will stay here now. Later we will go to the city. We need time." He responds sadly.

Anthea nodded.
"Very well. Your resource allotment and accommodations will be arranged when you come to a decision. I am afraid I have other matters to attend to right now, but if you need anything just ask any draxan. Word spreads fast here."
And she was gone in the blink of an eye.

"Geraln, another drink." Sitting in an empty corner pub, Jerus was relaxing before heading out. In two hours, he was going to meet some poor soul, down on their luck, who was hoping to make a quick buck by letting him mess with their physiology. The man was told the risks, but was willing to go through with it anyway. That let Jerus know he wasn't a complete monster.
"So, getting ready to operate, I take it? You only drink this much when you're getting ready to go to town on one of those patients." Geraln wasn't a good, law-abiding Draxan, but he was amiable. Willing to give drinks to people who had no business drinking, allowed lots of illegal gambling and the like, but he was friendly with everyone.
"Yeah, a patient. Geraln, how do you feel about the miliitary?"
"They're keeping us safe for now, aren't they? Humans aren't peaceful beasts, but the military's keeping them in line for now. As long as they keep doing that, I don't care what they want. They can even have my boy, when he's of age." A boy? That... He still knows too much though...
"You don't think they're ineffective, weak, not keeping pace? They've hardly advanced their weaponry at all over the past few decades."
Geraln shrugs. "Another drink? You usually like one right after your first of the half-hour."
Looking down, Jerus noticed that his glass of Zen was, indeed, empty. "Yeah. Thanks, Geraln."
"No problem."
Half an hour later, Jerus receives a message from the "patient" stating that they got off of work early, and are ready now. "Geraln, I'm leaving now. Forget you met me, alright?"
"What about the Weekly Whooping? You started it, shouldn't you stay and help develop it?"
"Goodbye, Geraln." Taking three drinks to go and making sure they're capped tightly, Jerus heads out for the America, wondering where on the Fantasia he should move to now. He's even closer to the military than the last barkeep. I should've been careful. He knew nothing, but still, too risky. Should've killed him, since he knows my name. Bah, I still can. Just go back, blow open an empty bar, maybe take some drinks... Whatever, I've got work to do. Gotta do something, since the government won't.
