Anthea was part way through saying "Sorry about that" when she was alerted to her phone going off.
"So sorry. Excuse me a moment."
She produced her phone and turned on the equivalent of speakerphone. Sutter's head appeared holograpically from the phone's surface.
"Hi Ronald. How are you doing? I'm with another new arrival here and was about to finish up her orientation. Kyrie, Ronald. Ronald, Kyrie. I can multitask though. What's up?"
Starting to walk down the corridor, she gestured to Kyrie to follow, switching to speaking to her.
"You have a phone right? Let me put my number in it. It'll be your wallet and access pass for wherever you end up living. This way. You can pick out your apartment on a map."

"I-I wasn't given a phone. Is there some software I can use instead, since I seem to be part-computer or something?" She pulled up her display to make her point as she followed. "A-and I already told some of the lizards about where I'd like to live."

"Hello, Anthea. Hello... Kyrie. We... Wanted to look around. Could you help." He replied sullenly. (Another new face and a LOTUS by the look of it, this is note worthy.) he thought to himself.

Anthea stopped by the station near the awakening chamber. After gesturing to a few deacons she picked up a rectangular slabb of technology.
"Kyrie, see if you can upload the software on this. Your hardware is probably sufficient, but you might want to keep it just in case."
She froze time and fiddled with it.
"My number is on here already. And so you have picked out a place. It should be prepared by now, so you can check out your new home. Access is in the software."
She turned back to her own phone.
"Any reason you want me along? I can meet you somewhere. Maybe Kyrie wants to come too, what do you say?"
She looked at Kyrie as she said that last line.

"Eh? I-I guess? I mean, they did want me to get familiar with society, so I suppose I should..." Looking through her list of software again, Kyrie pulled up one labeled "driveRip.exe" and activated it. Her left forearm opened, and she snapped the phone apart to get to the motherboard. A small laser went over the motherboard, and she had all of the information on the phone downloaded. Oh, it seems to be getting rid of the superfluous stuff like the OS on its own. Neat.

"We would be happy. Can you come to the apartment?" He queries.

Emar gave up, walking outside. He saw Brooke grinning wildly, Phil behind her.
"Stop stalking me!" He scowled.

Looking at the time on his phone, Jerus counted down. "I'd give it about seven more seconds." Three seconds later, the apartment complex containing the black market haven blew sky-high, flames and debris scattering far and wide. A few pieces of the now-charred building landed nearby, and more crashed into the building behind him.
"Really, that far off with the timing? How much did I drink tonight? I shouldn't be that far off. Ah well, point is he died. Can't have things like him running free. Too bad I'll have to wait a few days for the transaction to be refunded over his death. At least I got a free experiment again. It's nice being able to do this now that I figured out how to get the bomb inside them while maintaining the destructive potential. Had to keep the old ones on careful watch, put down the uncooperative ones... Such a drag, but I can't let these freaks run wild."
Sipping his drink again, an automated cab pulled up. Walking in and inputting the directions and fare, he chuckled. "Heh, I remember hearing they used to have people working these. That'd probably make it a lot harder for me to get a ride, if there was some idiot operating this. He'd probably see the explosion and refuse to drive me so he can get himself away. Heh."
Thinking back to the man's mentions of his friends and family, and Geraln's mentions of his own, Jerus sighed. "I wonder if being morally consistent would be better? Then again, this is probably the kind of thing I should think about sober. Yeah, I'll do that. Go to sleep, wake up, hopefully sober, think about morality as I check on the bastards I haven't killed, and check account for funds. Sounds good for now."

"You know you are so cute when you get flustered right," Brook said with a to Emar. "As for you traitor I would sleep with one eye open tonight," Brook hissed towards Phil. "As for you I am stalking you?" Brook said as she punched Emar across the face as hard as she could. "Last I checked I was talking to Athena in my keyword MY APARTMENT," Brook said to the reeling Emar. "You chose to come inside, and leave my apartment just when I was about to leave with that dirty primate," Brook said glaring towards Phil. "Let's just get that out of the way, Mr." Brook hissed towards Emar. "Now I expect you to treat me to lunch and apologize for ruining my morning," Brook said putting Emar in a mock headlock. "Come I know this great place downtown and don't think you can outrun me, I know what you are and I know what to look for," Brook said with an eerie grin

Emar sighed. "You punch me and then force me to buy you dinner?" He somehow ran a hand through his hair while in the headlock. "Such a drag, but fine."
Phil coughed, "doormat. I mean... Nice bro!" He flashed the thumbs up at the end.

"Wow dinner you are nice kind sir," Brook said doing a mock curtsey. "Come hurry up, what a polite, young gentlemen you are," Brook said placing a tiny kiss on his cheek. "Who knows maybe there will be a little more depending on how much of a gentleman you are," Brook told Emar while staring at him with 'puppy dog eyes'.
"Oh yeah Phil, doing think I forget about you almost letting this wonderful man escape," Brook said flashing a smile to Phil.

Emar touched his cheek. "So this is what humans call affection?" He thought. He felt nothing inside, but felt touched a bit.
Phil chuckled. "I knew he was the right guy all along!" He crossed his fingers, "What a dominatrix...." He thought with a sweat drop. He felt sorry for the poor guy. Even more than himself.

"Sure Ronald, we'll meet you there as soon as we can."
Anthea hung up and turned to Kyrie,
"You don't have to come. I just thought it'd be a nice gesture. Both of you just woke up today so maybe you'd get along. People like us should stick together you kn-"
Another phone alert. Anthea didn't have to check it twice. Her face dropped to serious.
"Business. Sorry, I have to go. You can check the news for details. There's a holographic TV at your new place. You'll like it."
She vanished. Then reappeared with something else on her tongue.
"If you're thinking of doing anything dangerous, call your radioactive friend first."
She vanished again. Somewhere along the line she sent a text to Ronald.
Have to cancel. Check the news.
Almost immediately after the explosion hit, the surrounding area was quarantined. Force fields came up and traffic ground to a halt. All vehicles on the road were shoved aside to make room for the incoming rescue vehicles. Underground saferoom hatches opened up and holographic indicators were at every corner, directing civilians where to go.
News helicopters were quick to arrive, catching sight of the ambulance and first responder vessels pouring in, They didn't pay it much mind, but there was a girl with cat ears among them.
"Alright," Anthea muttered to herself, "first thing's first. Hero time."

(Hnm, a text? Turn on the news?) he does so. (An explosion. Crap I can't go there without blowing my cover, and theres so much organic matter there for the taking.) he then began softly banging his head on the nearest wall.

"Hmph. 'People like us should stick together.'" she mocked. "Take your own advice, abandoning me so soon. Didn't give me a number to get in contact with anyone but her. How selfish. And that guy, he seemed weird too, even with what little he said. And don't get me started on Manny. Hmph. 'People like us.' What a load of crap. They may be one and the same, but I'm not seeing how we're similar."
Pulling up a news site on her display, she quickly found out about the explosion. "Really? Why should she care about this? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with us, and law enforcement could handle this even in the past." Shrugging, Kyrie resumed walking out of the maintenance corridors. "I suppose I should set up my hologram before I get out there, cover up these metal patches. And I guess I should head to this house. See the view, put furniture in... Hm. I wonder how I'll get the furniture? Maybe I can just tell the military lizards to do it. At worst, come back and get Manny. Yeah, that sounds like a normal person's plan." Leaning back, Jerus groaned as his cab pulled over. "You've got to be joking! We're already more than a mile away, there's almost no way they'll need to get around us to get there!" Looking back out the window, his mood went further back towards positive. "Heh, stayed out of the field though. So I'm unlikely to get suspected, or even questioned. Which means I can just sit here, play games, drink, and maybe nap. No, definitely nap. But after I finish this drink. It's bad luck to leave a drink unfinished, after all." Smirking, Jerus leaned back, the smoke from his drink beginning to fill up the vehicle.

With time stopped, Anthea jumped up into the wreckage. Stationary fire was something she'd never get used to.
Alright, spend a few minutes here, scoop up clues, send them to processing, that should give me a few hours with Kyrie and/or Ronald, assuming my ship isn't ready until tomorrow.
She set a teleportation signature for some water over top of some of the fires around. It hung in the air like a viscous floating goop. Her friction-less frame slipped through smoke like she always slipped through the air around her.
There were people in rooms still. Taking a good long look at the hallway, she jumped up to some falling beams suspended in the air and gave them a good hard shove. She similarly shoved the debris blocking some room doors. She gave each door a swift kick that would eventually force them open and etched arrows into the wall and ground towards the direction of the nearest exits.
Carrying on, she found a hole in the lowest floor, leading to some kind of basement. Perfect. There was nothing much intact inside since the blast seemed to have come from here. Any little bits of tech, computer parts, things like that, she arranged a teleportation signature on them so they'd get carried away. Glass shards with which to recreate fingerprints. Stains on the walls. The same goes for what she could only assume to be bits of burnt flesh. The ruined equipment around was definitely meant for cybernetic use at one point. You could tell by the blast shadows on the walls
Like I thought. Black market dealers again. They're getting bolder now that you can blame a LOTUS. Straight up terrorism is not a welcome change.
Her thoughts were distracted by what looked like a humanoid figure covered in burnt ash. Quickly, she slowed herself back down.
"I'm here to help! Are you ok!?"
Upstairs, water materialized and put out fires, debris changed falling trajectory and formed a neat little path for people to escape with through their newly opened doors. A multitude of objects disappeared from the basement level as her voice finally reached the figure. It didn't seem to like it.
"EYGRAAAAAAAH!!!!!!"
Anthea jumped back. An experiment? No. Better. A witness.
"Can you hear me?"
"BROOOOOOOOOAH!!!!"
The experiment suddenly began to hunch over, revealing Draxan-style plating on its body and hunched armadillo-ish back. Through cracks in its ashen skin it glowed a fiery red and orange that intensified with a harsh sizzling noise.
"It's ok. Calm down. I'm not going to hurt you."
It opened its eyes and stood up tall, the crystals on and beneath its body erupting in an all encompassing massive blast of heat. Anthea froze it and evaluated. A heat blast like that couldn't go through the floor or ceiling, but nothing in this room could be used as cover. Time for reinforcements.
The explosion swept the room that was freshly devoid of Anthea. The experiment let out another roar, seemingly in frustration.

*bring bring! bring bring!*
What the...? Anthea shook her head, wondering why it felt like time suddenly stopped her too.
Then she noticed she was on the ground. She halted time to get an account of her surroundings. She was fighting something...explodey. And apparently she didn't get out of range before letting the explosion continue and she was thrown. And now there was this ringing in her head...
*bring bring! bring bring!*
No wait, that was a call waiting. But her phone couldn't handle super speed. Great. She set up a teleport target and retrieval on a short delay for her phone, and yelled "Let me call you back!" The sound hung in the time frozen air, which would later be allowed to propagate forth into a phone which would teleport in and out just long enough to hear it.
The Experiment came up through the ground, burning a hole through the pavement. Anthea took the opportunity to look around. Taking the long way, she looked below it, noting how it seemed to avoid water pipes on the way up. That seemed way too simple, but it was worth a shot at this point. She needed to stop it as quickly as possible, and she didn't think a gun would do all that much.
"BROOOOO- AAAAAAH!"
A roar of fury, followed by agonized annoyance ripped from the creature's mouth as a deluge dropped on it, quenching its next explosive discharge. Anthea watched for a reaction. Whatever it was, it didn't like being cool. Alright then. Give that a try.
"Hey!"
The Experiement turned around towards Anthea's voice. It saw nothing, as she had vacated before the sound had reached it. Rather, she was behind it, with a newly teleported in fire extinguisher large enough to be called a cryo-cannon. She braced herself and pulled on the trigger, handling the recoil with experience. The blast met the beast head on. It didn't even get another roar out before it was frozen over. The glow beneath its skin was cooled and nulled until it appeared to become a perfectly petrified statue.
The news cameras might have gotten a glimpse of her, but hopefully nothing too incriminating. What Anthea did leave behind though was a large sign, pinned to the beast by a magnet and spelling out quite clearly "This Is Not A LOTUS."
Teleporters flashed. Anthea reappeared on the Fantasia, in the conference room next to Rachnoff. He was decidedly not startled, but did wonder why she didn't come sooner.
"I heard my ship is ready."

So, she has finally come... Alpha and Omega meet at last.
Omega calmly watches the ship enter the atmosphere from his perch on the mountain peak. Strangely, he felt a pang of excitement. If anyone could understand him... It would be the First. If he could convince her to join him... Then his job would become that much easier. Still... Why does he feel so... Uneasy?

As Brook and Emm-Emm were getting ready to head out they heard a loud explosion. "Emm-Emm dinner is going to have to wait I want to see what that explosion is about," Brook told Emar. "Who knows what fun there could be...I mean people might need help," Brook said grabbing Emar heading towards the sound of the explosion.

The young LOTUS only sighed as he was being dragged away. "Why do you insist on me coming with you?" He asked tirelessly. Not that he injected internally. Wait, what?!
Phil followed behind them dutifully.
