"Heh. Fell Blood? If I started identifying by that, I'd have to start identifying as Exalted as well. Tell you what? How about I show you some middle ground?" You bite off your left glove and swiftly pull off your right one, revealing both your marks, and aim your left arm towards him as you stand. He opens his mouth to unleash another burst of his dark breath, but purple energy surges forth from your Fell mark, rolling over your Mark of Naga and turning indigo before rushing out around Tolkar's mouth, forming into five long, claw-like tendrils, one under his snout, all clamping his jaws shut.
A voice screeches out as the misty aura takes a more solid shape, the claw around the dragon's mouth connecting to an arm, which shrunk down to human proportions as it moved closer, finally sprouting the vague shape of a body, steamy bands of indigo whipping around from the epicenter just in front of your fingers. The voice is akin to several grindstones in use, all vocalizing "SSZZTAYYYY AWAYYYY!" Appearing to dig its feet into the ground, but simply launching itself forward, the still-forming person launches the earth dragon across the length of the mountaintop, . The specter in front of you now has its entire body properly-sized, still not appearing solid, and is taking on multiple colors, especially in areas where it seems to be forming attire.
"You have to be jesting. Now you literally conjure allies out of thin air? This is getting-" Tolkar's sentence was cut short as the apparition zoomed over and backhanded him with another enlarged claw. The hulking manakete didn't reel back this time, managing to counter with his own claw swipe, but missed completely as the ethereal figure flew over his head, slamming its hand down on the dragon's back. Tolkar launches himself into the sky, but the ghost phases through him, seemingly reforming itself where it previously stood.
"Your form is too much like master's, too magical, not solid enough! Too easy to pass through!" it screeches. Your vision begins to blur as they throw themselves at each other again, clashing repeatedly as they fly about above the summit. Your vision fades further, tunneling, as you notice Alessandra approaching you, her face pale and mouth gasping for air as she sheds the broken plating on her left limbs. The last thing you feel before losing consciousness is the spreading tingle of numbness from your right arm.
You wake up to warmth, and a tight feeling around your arm. You open your eyes to see the light dance upon the cave ceiling, and look to your arm to see it bandaged, though it feels as though it was healed. You hear mumbles from behind, and sit up and look over to see the apparition from before pacing back and forth next to the fire. It appears solid now, with few wisps of energy rolling off of its body, and distinct glows separating different parts of its body. The skin still appears blue-ish, and the hair seems blue-green. Oddly enough, it appears to wear light armor on one side of its body. It looks over at you, and you can clearly see that its a male from its facial structure. "Master! You're awake," he says, dropping to his knees in front of you. "No, you're more important than a master... Mother! You gave me life, so you... no, no no no, GODDESS. You gave me more than life, you gave me FORM. Yes, yes, I owe you so much, goddess. Are you feeling alright? Do you require anything? Your wish is my command!"
"...Who are you, and where are my friends? Are they alright?" It comforts you that your weapons are all next to you.
"Ah, yes, of course! I'm Villads! One of them is right there." Looking where he points, you see Guillame sleeping upside-down on the opposite side of the fire. "I couldn't get him out of your room, I'm afraid. The others have been healed, thanks to Jean and the weird man healing Jean."
"I wouldn't call this a room, but okay... Where the hell'd you come from?"
"Oh, right, I guess you never noticed. I've been following you guys ever since you opened up the tomb back before we got the horse. Dunno why I was there, and I didn't know why I wanted to follow you, but I'm glad I did." His smile is eerily normal for someone who hardly seems real. Seems all the weirdest people you know have normal faces.
"So, what are you, exactly? You seem kinda like a ghost, but..."
"I don't know. Just like the girl, Hei'yu, I don't remember anything before waking up in that place. I don't think it matters much though, as long as I can serve you, goddess."
"Please call me Adena. I'm... going to go see the others. Make sure they're alright."
"I'll come with you! Oh, though... One of them really wanted to talk to you. Alessandra."
"... Thanks..." Stepping out of the cave, you see Tolkar's corpse lying on the ground near the center of the summit, with Riki picking at the meat with her bare hands. The wagon and the mounts have been brought up, and Jean and the man from town sit dutifully nearby, roasting some meat over an open flame. A small slope leads down to the floor level, and Allie sits only a few steps below you. She looks up at you, and you're quite surprised to find her glaring intensely.
"What the hell was that?" Her question is sudden, and you can feel Villads almost going on the offensive behind you as she gets up. "You, spook, get out of here, this conversation needs to be private."
"I go where the goddess tells me to, wench. Watch your tongue around her."
"Please, Villads, do go. I'd very much like to speak to her alone." He complies quickly, and you turn back to face Allie. "Is something wrong?"
"That s*** you pulled with that energy. Summoning him. How the hell'd you do that? It's clearly Fell energy. I even heard that bastard call you Fell blood. Explain to me how you can do that, now!" It's hard for you to tell how she feels. She sounds angry, but her face seems desperate, perhaps hurt. "It's important..."
"I..." You find yourself genuinely unsure how to answer. You're not sure whether she'd take the truth worse, or a lie. "I'm of Fell blood." The truth seems simplest. "Directly descended from Grima. My father." If she has something against Grima, or the Grimleal... "King Robin of Plegia." Or the Shepherds... then so be it. You just hope it won't have to end because of who you are. "He lost his power when he killed Grima. I inherited it." She doesn't seem religious, but you suppose that whatever her problem might be, you'll have to accept it, like it or not.
"Oh gods... It's like I thought," she mutters, turning away, placing her hand over her mouth.
"Yeah."
"No, you don't- It's worse. I don't care if you're some sort of doom-bringer, some sort of ill omen... We're family." Both of you stare into each other's eyes, neither of you blinking. The tension couldn't be higher. You can feel both your hearts pulsing. "My mother... My mother... Is your sister from the future... Morgan... You're my godsdamned aunt..."
You...
