I think that would depend on the person's abilities from their world, and whether or not Anna feels like tricking us with her "growth" potions.

Well I know Mario had a giant form in Lumabot and Bowser has his giant form but I was unsure if it would be actual battles or just a brief transformation?

I can't speak for the abilities of your characters, X, but all of my dragons fight in their dragon form for extended periods of time. However, I don't think an extended or permanent transformation would fit Mario or Bowser, since neither had one in the games.

B/c the two villains I were using King Boo and Fawful I was unsure if I could give them Giants too?
King Boo as we all know is going to be weak against ghost and dark type moves, holy attacks, and light. So w/ him I was going to make it where he uses the dark and shadows to his advantage to essentially screw w/ the persons mind. Essentially, King Boo would be like fighting the ultimate trickster, no tech. is too underhanded, he will do whatever it takes to throw that person off there game. Think like mind games, multiple clones, boos everywhere to create chaos, and since he is the master of illusions he could create a scene or scenario that means something to the character (think of it as the fear dust scarecrow from Batman uses) to screw with the person.
I was thinking his fight would be less about a straight up fight b/c let's face it he's not the strongest person/ ghost around and more like a battle of mental warfare, and you have to find a way to outmaneuver him otherwise he will just wear the person out while he just flies around and laughs. Of course his encounter will happen in areas that are dark and there's no light around.
Yet when people think he's defeated he comes back with one final move summoning spoiler and looking to defeat his opponents in a giant spoiler essentially creating a giant battle.
We all know Fawful is good w/ machines (heck he turned Peach's castle into a fighting mech) so one of his things could be was to summon a giant to take care of someone while he escapes causing a giant battle. I was planning on Fawful being that incredibly annoying villain whom is just one step ahead. He may not seem like much but he always finds a way to escape danger and avoid getting his hands dirty. He is also going to be a mad genius type character know for wacky inventions and ways to mess w/ his opponents.

With Bowser it would be like Bowser's Inside Story where his life is in danger but then he transform into a giant to battle for either the duration of the battle and then reverts to normal or if its a long drawn out battle have a time limit where they have to finish it otherwise the transformation wears off.
With Mario, Lumabot is estinally my cyoa's version of giant Luigi the characters use Lumabot to wage war against the opponents giant and it continues until the battle is over. Since I am only getting to the end of the prolong I haven't had a chance to introduce giant battles or the mechanics but I have them written down. Again same thing applies to Mario like it did in Dream Team. He can't go giant unless his life is in danger by another giant

That would be spoilers But I was having trouble thinking of an idea for a few of the in between chapters b/c King Boo is a big chapter in its self even if he is around the midway point. You have just given me an idea Empire that does involve Brobot to be in it as one of the giants. Thanks Funny thing while brainstorming for the cyoa Brobot was going to be the original giant the characters used but then I started thinking about maybe Geno making an apperence. Finally, settled on Lumabot which is this. Merlin gives Mario a toy robot that says it might come in handy one day. Well that day happens to be spoiler at the end of spoiler. Prince Luma flies into the robot b/c we know Lumas can fit in tight spaces. Then Starlow channels the wishes of everyone causing her to fire a beam of hope and power and allowing Prince Luma to transform into a giant. Yet it would be cool to see Brobot and Lumabot go at it in an epic showdown.

Since you mentioned Super Paper Mario one idea does exist and its the connection between Anna and Robin. The idea of Robin and Anna was directly influenced by the relationship between Count Bleck and Pixy. Basically, Anna is the count Bleck and she's in slumber right now b/c of the awful things she has done. Robin is the Pixy except he's a normal combatant and the part of guide is being played by Flan which is Anna's younger sister as a Fletchling.

You know what? I will create the official sign-ups tomorrow while I rename this topic slightly to keep planning going. Once everything is done, I'll make a discussion topic with a date where the RP will go live (a month from now by my guesstimate) and stuff gets started.

UPDATED TOPIC!!
Also, to be clear on the cohort thing, we're working with the fact that the "death" of a cohort has no bearing on the Card Character's health, but the death of the card character also takes the cohort with them as they revert back to a (grey and dead) card, right?
Also, can a cohort be manually "revived" by reverting the Card Character back to a card (without the "killing" part) and re-summoning them? I'd assume a cooldown before they're able to be summoned again to prevent abuse would be in order.

"Companions" is probably a better word for it than "Cohorts". Sorry for not bringing it up earlier but I didn't notice the change.

Also, nice plagiarism off the KH character topic.
How about card characters remain in their last realized form until full revival? So if your Ash card loses an arm and Pikachu dies, he will stay arm and Pikachu-less until you revive the card as if Ash were dead. So basically, crippled cards are the same as dead outright cards, only they can talk.
