Well, in Dissidia the warriors lost their memories with each revival, but they came back quicker each time so as to make up for it.
But how about doing it the TWEWY way? The characters are forced to give up somethig important to them until they win. We could make it so that after so many wins in battles, or after beating a boss, they get back their entry fee. Maybe they lose the weapon they normally use and are forced to use something inferior for a time, or lose some sort of magic charm or something. Not a huge handicap, but something to make you think twice before rushing in unprepared.
And in the event that they die again before recovering their entry fee (or in this case, revival fee), they don't have to pay it again, it just adds another small condition to recovering the original fee.

I appreciate that notion GX, and support it, but there's one little problem.
Alyrun, once recognizing the heir of the bloodline, reappears in their hands.... It was created to do that so the user wouldn't thane to worry about theft. And since it was forged by a Goddess and Ardlin himself... Yeah, you see where this is going? Gae Bolg can be taken though.

OZ has different rules, and more powerful magical forces could keep that from actually happening. But I'm not going to debate that, since there are many, many, many, many other potential handicaps out there.

Digi, the "allies" section is for pokemon. You're supposed to fill out totally new sheets for characters.
Yeah EoF set it up weird.

Hmm... That could work. It would have more story value than simple currency, and the price wouldn't be that steep. It also would be fairly consistent for everyone. I like it. So, who's going to run the Revival Point?

*everyone complains when I suggest memories as the price* I think Neo was referring to the second half of her post. You know, the actual suggestion.

Like Smexy said, I was talking about the second half of her post.
In your version, Golurk, the items lost are permanent, which was my big issue with it, as it wasn't fair for everyone. But in GX's version, the items can be regained, which means everyone can be revived the same amount of times.

I never said item loss was permanent. Everyone immediately just started complaining.

*suggested a similar thing earlier and everyone complained* Ethos, Pathos, Logos, my friend. Find something you know most will connect with, then expand on it. In this case, credibility from likening it to TWEWY's system. Then I rounded it out by answering the major questions logically. Why does TWEWY bring credibility? Most of us here have played it, and the few I didn't know for sure had played it have also shown quite the interest in manga, anime, and JRPGs, so I knew there was a very good chance they liked TWEWY. Always know your audience, and know what questions they'll ask so you can answer them before they can even respond. It makes your arguement much stronger. Also, it helps that I'm a girl, honestly. There's an assumed innocence that makes my suggestions seem logical and harmless, making people have a much more open mind. I don't try to use that to my advantage as leverage, though. It just happens naturally.
