Then die.

The Turtle is immortal. He will eat the nuke, and it will dissipate harmlessly in his stomach.
This discussion is now officially over. Oz will be known as the World on Turtle's Back. Said turtle will be called Roshi.
I will begin work on the map without delay.

It's not on the idea, it's ease of rendering.

It's not on the idea, it's ease of rendering. Precisely.

We'll need Shrines (starting points for the heroes) and Fountains of Dreams [working title] (resurrection points) to dot the landscape.

Actually, in order to make character death hold more weight, how about there is only one revival spot, and revival is costly?

Nooooooo. How do we know when we die? Oh, and our MC become cards when they die right, and need allies close to them?

If characters can be resurrected all the time, that lessons the sense of conflict.

Multiple wandering Annas selling stuff. Gotcha.
How about the cost to revive is burning another card? But it doesn't have to be one of your cards. So if you kill a big baddie you can use his card to revive later on.

That would lead to problems like people god modding themselves into killing other characters much stronger than them to revive their own characters.
