Clarification, the holograms can project a very close range force field to imitate, say, the feel of clothes if someone touches you when you're not actually wearing any. That way the holograms don't clip through buildings and stuff as well.
It's very weak though,so it's pretty much limited to textures.

What about Manhattan's, for example? His (IIRC) makes him appear shorter. So, how?
And what about stuff like a projection of a tail, or when Anthea made her hologram do stuff she wasn't doing? How does one control the hologram?
Am I looking too far into this for our good?

The height difference can't be helped. Things would magically bounce off the air above his head.
Projecting a tail would just be an illusion pretty much. As for the holograms being controlled for alternative tasks...they use sufficiently advanced technology

The only consequences, I imagine, would be a character making a mistake by moving without their hologram (or with it by accident).
And for the tail thing, it's solely an illusion? Couldn't be touched, or used as an appendage, for example?
Yes I do believe I could have Kyrie take advantage of this.

The default holograms come with texture but nothing else. If you wanted to create and have an actual tail, you'd need an actual force field generator to work in tandem with a hologram for that. Which wouldn't be unheard of and could probably be a LOTUS power quite easily.
