LOTUSes cannot be made anymore. Period. They can be modified (which is what I thought was happening) but not made. And it's draxan tech so a human probably wouldn't be able to do anything unless they had some serious help. And nobody in the government would want to make a LOTUS stronger (at least for the time being). Any modifications would probably be done black market. So... Should I just doom all of Jerus's experiments to failure? I was going to doom the present ones to failure (except for maybe some minor successes to make for some decent early opponents if we went for him as a minor arc villain or something), but I was thinking he might be able to be used as an intro for anyone who feels like being grouped with him in the case of minor arc villain, or anyone who feels like starting off as a regular human and later becoming a LOTUS. Or that he might be able to make some weaker NPC LOTUSes later on to use against whatever villain(s) come(s) after Omega (or against Omega, whatever works). And let's just go with "he was being modified," and "Elsa was a minor part of it." Retcons are usually annoying, and that was probably the intention anyway. |

Hmm...alright maybe in the future, but for now, without power creep, you can't make another LOTUS level superweapon. Weaker ones maybe. And semantically they shouldn't be called LOTUS since that was the name of the original experiments.
The main reason being "if they could be made, why haven't they made any before now?"

Draxans might be complying with human requests to refrain from genetically modifying (plus the lack of humans in the Draxan military would decrease the pool of eligible applicants). As for why hobbyists and people like Jerus haven't been making LOTUSes left and right, I'd say becuase they lack the know-how to keep both the subjects and the scientists safe, the technological prowess and the resources (it's likely Jerus's railgun alone was a huge investment). I'd imagine the military isn't open with secrets like anti-matter technology, or with the genome map for species like the Mirans. |

Well the LOTUS experiment happened centuries ago...you can't exactly make a new antique so to say.
I meant to post last night but my internet died. Tonight hopefully I'll write more.
