"Might as well see where this leads. I don't have any other plans, amyway," Meridia said.

"...Evangelical Heralds. It is a...a Super Sentai show," Marley admitted. "The plotline is surprisingly deep," she quickly adds.
"Oh, wait, that?" Riley said. "I thought you were talking about The Bold and the Beautifly."
"...I am unfamiliar with that show."
"Good!" Riley said.

Molly wasn't exactly sure what "Sentai" was...but she'd look it up later.
"Thank you. Those both sound...watchable. I um, maybe I should get going now..." She stood up, taking care not to disturb Shaymin. "I should probably check back on Eusine. I'm not sure if we still need him but, well, I was asked to make sure he's not a liability. I'll be there tonight, and I'll meet anyone who wants to leave with us."
Then she paused for a moment, thinking. "Sorry, which way is the infirmary again? Maybe, ah...Meridia would you be able to walk me back? I really appreciate you taking your time to show me around."

Without any hesistation, Jacquelyn sprinted for the door, Diancie on her side. Austin ran beside them, guarding them as he did.
They rushed through the underground hall, heading for what they believed would be an exit, running as fast as tthey could with their injuries.
"Ugh!" Suddenly, Jacquelyn, tripped and rolled a bit before stopping.
Her face was a mask of agony and she squinted.
Diancie, still recovering, looked at her with concern.
Austin ran up to her. "Jacquelyn, what's wrong!?"
"I-I, don't.... don't know..., ugh!"
Jacquelyn grabbed at her left arm, and scratched at it. Austin watched in horror and confusion.
"Jacque, um, what's wrong..?"
Then he saw it. Where Jacque was scratching on her arm. It was... it was crystallized. And it was spreading up her arm quickly.
In fact, Austin noticed that it had begun on her other arm as well.
"J-j-Jacque!!!"
Jacquelyn, struggling got up. "I-I'll be fine... We... we have to keep moving..."
"Here, let me..."
Austin took her into his arms. She was taller than he was. Then they took off again, Diancie with them, and the crystal still spreading.

The doppelganger woman on the loose in Mauville city began shedding her layers as soon as the pesky Nova drivers were no longer a threat, first taking the fabulous rare Ninetails fur coat and inspecting it for a moment before tossing it callously to the dusty cavern floor.
I’ll have to remember to ask the breeders to make me a Ninetails like that. Its skin… simply marvellous~ It'd do to find a better face to wear with it next time, however. Ah, how Glacia would match… but I can’t exactly be someone who people would recognise...
In the instant between magnetically clipping a hooded cowl to the back of her collar and throwing it over her head, a pink ooze might be seen slipping down her face, swiftly obscured by her gear.
She nimbly navigates the corridors of the underground passage, too wide and conveniently shaped to be the accident of natural tremors, without making a sound. Except, that is, that emitted by a sonar device she held in her hand. Crobatman brand, from the good old days because Mewtwo would spare no expense in equipping his top agents, after all… It was at least rigged to feed its screen output to her ocular implant, courtesy of Professor Sycamore. That way of course, she emitted about as much perceptible light as she did sound.
Eventually, she reached a room -- surely dug out intentionally like the tunnel itself, unlike other crevices she had passed by -- which caught her eye. Before she could consider walking in delicately to preserve evidence, a flashlight’s beam peaked around the corner and she darted in.
“We could walk down these tunnels for days, chief.” A woman’s voice could be heard. “They probably lead all the way to the seaboard and Orre beyond! Whatever those rebels used to get here, we’re not gonna find out by spelunking…”
A man sighs. “You’re right. Let’s call the recon off for now. Two of you stay here to guard the big passage. We’ll meet up with the urban-side crew and share what we found, then head back. I'll recommend we bring forensics along for future expeditions.”
Five pairs of feet continue marching. A flashlight shines into the room’s wall briefly, but nobody was seen. The first four trodded heavily enough to be men. The fifth, slightly daintier set would take a quick break from pitter-pattering as the female Nova soldier was pulled into the room. A ditto quickly wrapped around her mouth, silencing any protest, and a faint glow shone over the cave walls as a device on her captor’s wrist lit up. In an instant, the doppelganger woman had acquired a new form, and the spitting image of the Nova woman marched behind the others. Only this one had green eyes.
Forensics? Ugh. I suppose I'll play any part I have to...
"Have a nice day!" A friendly convenience store owner says as he pushes a stack of velvet coloured capsule-shaped containers towards Black. Black remembered such capsules being nearly indistinguishable from Pokéballs back in the day, but supposed that being caught with items like that would probably get people frisked by the Nova authorities in times such as these.
"Yeah, you too." The young man replies nonchalantly as he grabs the bundle and drops a few bills in the tip jar and winks, lowering his voice to a near whisper. "Thanks for not asking for ID, man."
He immediately and inconspicuously turns around and walks out the door.
"Castelia Cones and whiskey in one stop..." Black announces to nobody in sight. "Glad to see that Unova is still the freest region in the world! Say, do you think that the bakery run by that crusty old Alolan refugee is still around? I could go for one of those malasada things, too."
"Aren't we in a hurry?” Reshiram's voice rings a reminder in Black's head, though she's nowhere to be seen. "You don't want to let your old friend watch Realgam Tower go under all alone, do you...? It’s rude to keep a lady waiting, let alone to make a habit of it.”
Hilbert walks forward a few strides, looking behind him to make sure there wasn't anybody a bit too close as something on his wrist began to glow and his pace quickened beyond what most humans would be seen to go. He was certainly no longer walking. "It's only been a couple minutes, and if I do miss it then I'll just make it up to her with bribes of booze and ice cream. You're right, though. We should be heading back."
With that, he turns to aim his palm at the empty street behind him and a column of flame erupts from the space in front of it, propelling him into the sky and ripping a crater into the ground. As soon as he made it above the clouds and was beginning to lose propulsion, Reshiram swooped from above and whisked him off to the horizon.
"Only a couple of minutes? It felt like ages. Even when humans are blessed with a share of my power, they’re still as sluggish as a Slowpoke."
"What was that? Didn't hear ya', my ears are still ringing! This synchro thing kicks ASS!" Black hollers, wooping and cheering as Reshiram builds up speed and quickly passes the city's borders.
"Oh, nothing. Heading right back? I’ll have us there in seconds."
"I didn't pass up on crispy, fluffy desserts for nothing. The scenic route, please."
The white dragon seems to sigh as she does a U-turn and rockets along the coastline. The two trail around the edge of the continent diving over and under the clouds when settlements would begin to enter the peripheries of their view.
"Black...! Something's up ahead." Reshiram speaks urgently, hurtling through the clouds. "No time to hide, it's going at least as fast as we are!"
They both turn their heads as a massive tube of green scales and steel passes them by in an instant. The shape of two girls and a giant could be vaguely discerned on top of it.
"Weird..." Black scratches the back of his head for a moment as Reshiram begins to break momentum. "I feel like I recognised one of those blurry chicks. Hey? Reshiram? Why the hold up?"
"R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-..." The dragon stammers, unlike her usual prideful self.
"No, I think her name began with a 'K'... I should remember it, she said she was related to--"
"Rayquaza! What in Arceus' name have they done with the lord of the skies!?"
The pair make another U-turn, blazing a trail after the anomalous mecha-Rayquaza which just passed them by.

Location: The Distortion World
To an outside observer, Maurice would appear to be holding a snow-globe made of electricity in his hands. But there are no outside observers here, since the Nova Boss is currently forcing Giratina to take his point of view. Giratina's power coursed through the red chains simply embedded into his typical business suit. The genesis of a new world (which was the snow-globe, from Maurice's point of view) swirled within his hands, dancing wisps of world building elements ephemerally spinning into reality from the distorted aether and coalescing into a corporeal mass...
*Beep Beep*
In a blink, the snow-globe cracked and the elements of the Distortion World within returned to its usual chaotic mess. Maurice growled.
*sigh*...there goes another one
"Are you dying?" He spoke strictly to Celena's floating face projected before him.
"...yes. Actually. Like, me and lots of others, very very yes."
The call ended abruptly as a shadow dragon's silhouette consumed him, transporting him to the real world.
Location: Goldenrod Skies
Yveltal's kamikaze attack was moments from landing. The distinctive shape of a Distortion World portal spanned inches from Celena, depositing Maurice to her side.
"We have enemies in this city?" Maurice asked coldly.
"Shut up and get me out of here!"
He considered simply taking the entire city into the Distortion world. He could do that, probably, if he could get Giratina to exert itself. He also considered simply taking Yveltal to the Distortion World, where it would die alone in silence. But if there's any Pokemon that ought to die here and now, it's Yveltal. A Pokemon of death, that exists only to kill. Why would such a thing be created? It does nothing but harm, and in a better world, one created responsibly, there would be no such creature. This world deserves what it wrought upon itself.
Preserving the mortality of those he used to consider dear was important. Their sparks of character were far too complicated to rebuild compared to simple architecture. Anything else would be blamed on conflicting rebel factions, and the world would remain scattered and confused, unaware of his true purpose.
Maurice shut up and got Celena out of there in a flicker of shadow.
Location: Elsewhere in Goldenrod
Saturn closed his eyes and waited out the merciless beating Harry was giving him.
"I'll see you in hell." were the last words to reach Harry's ears
I"'m already there." were the last words to echo through Harry's brain.
Location: Elsewhere elsewhere in Goldenrod
Toxicroak saw Diancie. It was accompanied by some fleshy things but there were out of time. It grabbed the lot and shoved it through a phantom force portal to the outside of the doomed city.
Yveltal hit the pavement with a crack, and then died without a sound.
So did the rest of the city. Lights went out. Fires faded. Bodies dropped.
Outside the city, Toxicroak landed with a thud. Diancie and the children around him were quickly spotted by one of the numerous Galactic agents popping onto the scene. From the skies, crack squads teleported in and converged on two locations. One was the red glowing coccoon now lying in a crater. The other one was somewhere underground.
Beneath the city, Saturn's heart decided to beat again. Saturn wasn't awake. But part of him was.
He figured it was a coin's flip chance that Yveltal wouldn't be able to kill someone blessed by Xerneas to remain immortal. Either that, or Yveltal is the one way a blessed person could die. Either way, better odds than most. And for past few months, the heart of one such blessed entity had been bonded to his body and been feeding him blood.
And yet again, he avoids death.

The television broadcast was cut out by another interruption. This one was not Saturn's voice but a digital distortion. The intent, of course, is maximum ambiguity.
The person you know as Saturn is either dead or alive. But neither matters anymore. What matters is you. Citizens of the world, change is here. Stay safe. The next time you hear from Galactic, the war will be over.
Joanna wasn't really listening though. She was too pre-occupied trying to piece together what she just saw.
"They were, like, everywhere! And Saturn fought the giant Bug thing! And then he called Yveltal over to help, right?"
Disco shrugged. She didn't see it.
Shoegaze nodded his head. He wasn't sure what was going on, but it always seemed to calm Joanna down faster.
"And then things went boom! And Celena showed up too, and then um...well the TV wasn't showing much but uh...I think they won? We won right?"
A shrug. A nod.
Disco at least recognized that something had happened to Yveltal. Shoegaze confirmed that, but seeing as every camera died simultaneously at some point...well, who knows anymore?

Idiots...all of them...
Marissa and Suicune sped through the water. Nova's weather network had alerted her to nearby atmospheric conditions signature to Thundurus's presence. She got the news. She just wasn't going to think about it much.
People who get involved with politics and personal vendettas die. Better just to hurt everyone, and if you can make a living doing that, all the better.
Location: Goldenrod
Galactic Satellite Atlas scanned through the Underground.
"There!" He called out, directing three other agents towards the computer room. There two men on the ground there, both of which looked in terrible shape. The difference though, is that one of them was somehow still alive.
Atlas grinned, feeling the heartbeat through the earth beneath him. "Grab them both. Boss said the other one would have a body worth looting.
Johto is a fundamentally Nova controlled region. Even with their capital city in ruins, there would be no way and no reason to hold it. The best thing to do is to leave it as a wasteland. The Bronzors on their arms collectively flashed as they teleported out.

Kyurem let out a heavy sigh, synthesized from the combination of boredom and feelings of anxiety stirring from within. Above him, his Cryogonal familiars were dangling giant ice targets from their bodies, swinging them like pendulums as they flew overhead. Kyurem shot icicles at the targets, aiming for their bullseye. This was one of his methods to amuse himself, concocted for when there was little that could be done.
The Boundary Pokemon had taken residence in what the humans call the Cave Poke Spot, by the side of the large mountain near the center of the region. He had converted the deepest part of the cave into another frozen palace, complete with a decorative chandelier and a few ice sculptures of himself to fuel his inner narcissist, glimmering with the rays of sunlight that make their way into the cave's openings. The native Pokemon seemed to have adapted well enough to the dragon's presence, although most of them would prefer to keep their distance, either from fear or simple distaste for the cold. Kyurem was not unwelcome to the idea of having the company of something not artificially created by him. It was the same for the prison that was the Giant Chasm in Unova, though constant Nova inference and steadily dwindling food supplies made it so that they did not last long. For his part, Mewtwo left Kyurem to his own devices, as long as he didn't do anything foolish like devouring humans for fun (he had done it once as an intimidation tactic and hated the taste, but apparently just one was enough to stain his reputation even after all this time).
"Sire?" A relatively young Cryogonal levitated to the dragon's side. To distinguish itself from its siblings, this Cryogonal sculpted a fancy moustache and monocle to wear on its face, and began speaking in a stuffy and obviously fake accent Kyurem had never heard of in his very, very long existence. Kyurem had never 100% mastered the humble art of creating life, and it shows in the various eccentricities of his creations' personalities. They do as they're told, however, so he could never be bothered to try to fix this. "You appear to have something on your mind."
Kyurem glared at the Cryogonal. "None of your concern. Also, nobody asked you."
"Are you thinking of Zekrom and/or Reshiram, sir? Or perhaps you actually care about that human girl's health? Or Maybe--"
"SHUT UP!" Kyurem lashed out, blasting the nosy Cryogonal with a Dragon Pulse, the shock wave carrying it until it slammed against a fancy ice pillar. The Pokemon fell to the ground, fainted. The dragon grunted in annoyance. The other Cryogonal -- except for the one obsessed with spinning, as usual -- briefly stopped to watch their young sibling get maimed, before resuming their swinging of their targets, not showing much concern. Kyurem threw some more darts up at them.
Still, while he wouldn't confess it, Kyurem was indeed bothered by something. Constant battle with Nova soldiers sent to their demise was enough to keep his mind off it before, but fusing with Zekrom and the battle and prison break that followed it resurfaced the feeling that came with it. Incapable of conceiving the concept of an ideal, and incapable in seeing the truth of the world, nor feeling a desire to search for or achieve either, Kyurem felt hollow; for he was the husk left behind after the original dragon had split. He felt nothing but emptiness inside him most times, with the adrenaline and rush of combat against a worthy opponent (and the occasional terror he instills within the hapless humans) being among the few times when he can ever, truly feel alive. Ordinarily, he doesn't mind so much; you get used to it, thinking about abstract things like morality seemed like a waste of time, and he found pleasure in merely doing as he pleased.
Then came the day when he was ambushed and forced into servitude as a puppet for a group calling themselves Team Plasma. Being a fuel source for their ship and something for that green-haired piece of ugliness to boast about weren't particularly pleasant experiences, but the one action that Kyurem would come to appreciate and curse at the same time would be when he was forced to absorb Zekrom, one of his missing halves. Before, Kyurem wasn't very interested in bonding with them, as they all became their own individuals and being assimilated into one mind again suddenly didn't seem worth the price of independence. Fusing with the Embodiment of Ideals, brief as it was, opened Kyurem's eyes to what he was missing out on. Once inconceivable concepts filled his mind. The hollow void within him was finally filled, as if he had finally acquired a soul. He could've sworn that his perpetually frozen heart had learned how to beat again. He was no longer a shambling corpse with only the bare minimum definition of what could be considered having life. He felt complete. He felt... alive.
That moment, experiencing and discovering for the first time what it was that Kyurem had been lacking this whole time, had left him with a residual sense of longing ever since they were once again separated. Battle allows him to forget it for a few moments, but it is difficult to ignore the feeling of an empty existence once he became aware of it. Now, being able to fuse and stay fused for just a little bit longer than before, getting a chance to relish and savor the rush, just left him wanting more. It has left him... anxious.
Kyurem stomped in frustration, causing most of his familiars to jolt in shock. "I'm going for a walk! Come along or stay here, I don't care."
The fainted Cryogonal rose up again, using a chain to adjust his cracked monocle. "But sire, what about the humans! Won't they--"
"A walk, damn you!" Kyurem bellowed. "If the humans are 'terrorized' by that, they can all kiss my ass and freeze to death doing so!"
A few of the Cryogonal, the youngest one included, followed Kyurem outside. The rest were content with allowing themselves to fall to the ground, exhausted from all the flying and ice-swinging.

Corva steps out of the cave and grabs Micah. "Time to go!" she announces.
Dragon grabs onto her back and they disappear into a Phantom Force portal. They emerge on a grassy beach at the foot of a mountain. The rest of the team isn't here yet. Corva sets Micah down and turns to admire the towering peak. "Our secret hideout!"
"Mt. Pyre," Dragon explains. "Naturally, Corva chose a graveyard..."
"Once the others get here, we'll contact HQ and make our report and see if they have new orders for us!" Corva says. "Pro-o-obably can't do much more in Lilycove right now. It'll be locked down pretty tight. Or abandoned! Hm. Well, if you don't need her, Corva's gonna go make sure everything's in place and take a nap until night. That's when the ghosts come out to play!" Jude catches Carleen and makes sure they don't fall over after Cass shoves them. "Jeez... I'm guessing this wasn't part of your plan, was it?"

Carleen stummbles to her feet and kinda of blushes as Jude helps her. "Umm yeah didn't expect Cass to be that strong,". "So umm I said something I shouldn't have said,". "I didn't realize that what I said about Physic types would have made you that upset,". "Again I wanted to apologize and see if you were okay," Carleen said to Jude.
"I got a chance to talk to the others but I haven't really had a chance to talk and get to know you," Carleen said to Jude. "So I wanted a chance to talk with you and get a chance to know you," Carleen said to Jude.
Yuzu helps Vern gathering some firewood for the fire. "So umm Mr. Vern is it usually this eventful with you guys?" Yuzu asked Vern.

"Corphish Corrrrrrr," Brock said as waving his pincers.

Realgam Tower;Time:Unknown
Professor Fennel sat alone at her desk in her room in Realgam. She'd sent Lacey away hours ago to go get some rest, since she'd been working hard for days on end going over Fennel's past research notes. In truth, Fennel had been hiving her busy-work so she herself could focus on her latest studies on the Cosmic Drive and it's immunity to starburst.
"Ugh!" She groaned in frustration before balling up some more notes that had led nowhere. SHe sighed and lay her head down on her desk.
Looking over all of her old notes and studies and the original blueprints for the Drive ended up being a dead-end. Of course, it wouldn't have been that easy.
She sat up and stretched her arms over her head. Fennel turned and to look at the clock. 2:36 AM. She'd been officially up for over 48 hours straight, running only on coffee and frustration.
Fennel got out of her desk chair and decided to head to showers, since she hadn't taken time to shower either, before getting some much-needed sleep so she could get a fresh start tomorrow.
She let out a deep breath as the hot water fell on her, washing over her tired body. She ran her fingers through her long violet hair, twirling it. It'd been so long since her last hair cut that it was only a few centimeters off being knee-length.
She closed her eyes, just letting herself relax. Then she was back in Lumiose, before Kalos had been wiped off the map. She'd decided to go on vacation with Amanita since it'd been awhile since either of them had just relaxed. Kalos certainly was beautiful enough and the food in all the quaint little cafes was simply to die for. Fennel was disappointed that the famous(and infamously hunky) Professor Sycamore was away and she wouldn't get a chance to meet him. She never had any luck with any hot guys. Unlike her old College buddies, although Juniper didn't really seem interested in romance. Juniper had always teased her for being "guy crazy", and would even team up with Amanita to make jabs at her her when both of them were in her presence. Burnett would just laugh to herself and say things along the lines of,"Maybe our girl will finally land one." Burnett, of course, always had some hottie around her finger.
Fennel opened her eyes and felt her cheeks. Tears had begun to stream down them as she'd daydreamed of the distant past with her friends and family... The once steamy water had gone cold. She turned off the shower and grabbed a towl, wrapping it around herself and heading back to her room.
Outside Goldenrod;Present Day
Something was wrong.
Austin disregarded the noise coming form the city and the impact of some shock-wave. He was kneeling over Jacqueline, who was lying on the ground, writhing in pain.
He grasped her hand tightly. It was hardened solid. Most her body had been crystallized. It was spreading pretty rapidly, towards her head.
"Jacque! Jacque! JACQUE!"
She turned her head to him. "I-I'm fine... It must've been a sort of defense.... system. When I started hacking the computer... released some.... gaseous crystallizing agent... Diancie...." She looked up at him and smiled, despite the fact that now even most of her neck was diamond.
Austin squeezed her hand with so much force it hurt, clutching the grass with his right. Tears had begun to run down his face, dripping onto Jacqueline, his lap, and the dirt.
"Jacqueline... Please... Please. You're gonna be fine *sob*.. right...!?" He choked on his words, knowing the answer to the question.
Jacqueline gazed into the younger boy's eyes. He'd been hurt and hurt himself. Now there was so little of the spark she knew had once been there. So little innocence and joy like there should be. Why? Why could the youth of today not grow up in a peaceful world. She'd give everything if she could give even just him a world like that. Not perfect, but peaceful. Normal. A place where kids like him could be kids. And didn't have to watch each-other die.
Striaton City;Time:Unknown
The bullets flew fast and furious, and the soldiers were far too many for the two of them. Musharna could only do so much on her own with Reflect and Protect. The Protect wouldn't last forever so they'd decided to make a dash for cover behind some rubble of the fallen building. On the count of the three they were both supposed to run across behind the shield and take cover behind the rubble. One... Two... Then it happened. Fennel could barely register it as she zoomed past her. Time slowed down as the she realized what was happening. Amanita had panicked. She'd dashed forward prematurely and was almost there. Almost to their goal. Almost safe. Almost.
Then it hit her. Some bullet from the side hat hit her hip, sending her off-balanced to the right a bit, stumbling. Then more. All Fennel could see was her sister's back as she was torn apart, shredded to pieces by gunfire. HEr body convulsed in an inhuman way and slammed into the ground, blood spilling out into a puddle.
Fennel's eyes grew wide and she screamed so loud, hard, and long that her throat hurt.
Outside Goldenrod;Sometime in the Past
As a ship exploded near the sky over Goldenrod, he stood in a field outside the city. It hadn't been easy getting them, but he'd managed to steal Ethan's pokeballs from where they'd been locked away.
Ethan's Espeon had concentrated, it's eyes glowing a neon blue as it located its master and teleported him to their location.
Ethan landed on the ground and shot up, adrenaline rushing through him. 'Wha-?Where?" He was cut off by the telltale sound of and explosion. They both looked up to see the ship Ethan had just been on falling into fiery pieces out of the sky.
"What just happened?" Jira asked confused.
"I...", Ethan began getting his bearings.
"I set off the self-destruct sequence.... to.. to.. destroy the ship... so I wouldn't go to...", He looked up at Jira. "How did you...?"
Jira stared at him dumbfounded. He explained that he had been planning to teleport Ethan to freedom from the ship and they both just stared at eachother.
Jira stayed in Nova undercover even after Dawn left her position. He kept in touch with Ethan as best as he could, giving him all the information he could whenever he could. Mostly just times and dates of Nova supply ships and small operations. He wasn't ranked high enough to learn any super-useful intel.
After awhile, Jira managed to get transferred to a rarely used base on a remote island, since Ethan had wanted him to so he could investigate the memory rewriting that had been used on his friends before.
It wasn't a bad island, but it was definitely boring. He had a ton of leisure time since the base was barely still in operation since the method wasn't widely used at all anymore. He mostly spent his time exploring the island with Mimi.
It was one day that he had contacted Ethan to give him a report on the current prisoners(there weren't many) and his status that Ethan had some news for him. It wasn't unusual for Ethan to tell him about the going-on's elsewhere, with himself and Whitney, and Dawn and his other friends and allies.
"Jira.. I checked on your parents like you asked me to and...", He paused, taking an audibly deep breath. Jira tried bracing himself for the worst, his heart pounding with anticipation at the words. He was filled with a sense of dread. He could barely hear the words as Ethan spoke them. "Mansion... burned down... bodies... I'm so sorry."
Jira had sleeping that night, amongst his enemy as always. Mimi had tried to comfort him, but he'd insisted her was fine and continued to do his work for the rest of the day. As he lay in the dark in his bed, silent tears shivered down his face and he clenched his fists under the sheets. Tonight was so, so much worse than any other was.
This was just another reason for him to be here. To sabotage them however he could. To rebel against them. To hate them. They killed Jessie and Giovanni of Team Rocket. They'd killed his parents.
"....Amanita..."
Fennel slowly rubbed her eyes and got out of bed, glancing at the time. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. She still felt exhausted, but she doubted she'd be able to sleep anymore. She was determined to her work. Her research never ended. Still, she'd find a way to end this war. Even if she could only help a little.
'I'll keep going... I have to... For Mu-mu... For Nelson... For these kids and hopefully my own someday... and for her...
With that, she returned to her desk and began jotting down some notes.
He shook uncontrollably. This girl, not much older than him, that'd he'd only recently met, and grown to love in that short time, was lying here, her body almost entirely crystal, dying. It didn't make sense. None of it. None of it was fair. Maybe it was his fault. If she'd never met him. Never interacted with him and helped him and been harsh on him only because she cared for him. Only because she knew she had to. Because he had to grow up. Now more than ever.
"Jacque.... Jacque... Please.... PLEASE!"
He hugged her heavy body tight against him, the cold hard diamond sending shivers down his spine. Her face was rapidly crystallizing.
"Aus..tin... please. It's fine... Just.."
Her mouth about to be covered he didn't let himself think. HE did the only thing a kid in love could when there was no time left. When there would be no life left in her.
He clenched his tear-soaked eyes closed and pressed his lips hard against her, holding onto to her with all his might. As if he could hold her here in this world. As if there was nothing left worth it but her. As if they'd known eachother for a lifetime and had done this a million times before. And perhaps, in another world, they had.
The feeling of her soft lips and sweet taste faded and soon there was nothing but a cold hard taste of rock.
Silently, he opened his eyes, on the edge of a breakdown. He wiped his face only for more tears to flow. He picked up Carbink and Diancie's pokeballs and turned to the mysterious Toxicroak that had stared in silence. doing the best he could as he stumbled along, his body feeling heavy and tired from fighting and being wounded, yet lighter than ever.
He didn't glance back at the crystallized body behind him as he walked towards to Toxicroak. Doing all he could to keep in mind the words she'd said to him over and over and over again when he'd acted childish and tried to reject himself, the world around him, adn his circumstances.
"...live."

"Don't worry about it, Carleen. You couldn't have known. I'm not mad at you, just... mad," Jude sighs. "I guess you still haven't really seen Nova in action, but... I mean, they made her own Pokemon kill her! And there wasn't really anything I could do about it in the confusion." Jude sighs again, longer. "Oh. I should warn you. Vern's... kinda the same as me. He lost someone special to a parasect. That vileplume he uses used to be hers." Vern rubs his head. "No. No, it's not. And if it doesn't stop being this eventful, we're probably going to starve to death out here because I can't get the blasted boat running..." he complains.

"Oh so that's why he's attached to Vileplume,". "Your right I haven't seen Nova in action,". "I was in the middle of a personal journey to strengthen myself before facing off against the pokemon league again,". "I may not have seen them first hand but the two pokemon I have with me Greninja and Delphox,". "They witnessed Nova first hand," Carleen said to Jude.
"They were a star crossed Froakie and Fennekin, Ashley's mom a popular Delphox was the beloved Pokemon used by the then Kalos Queen,". "G-Ninja was a wild Froakie that had a bit of a crush on Ashley,". "There was many attempts he made to try and win Ashley's heart only for her mom to step in,". "It was like that until one day Nova attacked the Kalos region,". "From what Ashley shown me it was terror,". "Pokemon being star bursted into attacking there trainers,". "Parent pokemon turning against there kids,".
"Ashley's mom was among many of the fleeing Pokemon with there trainers,". "They ran as fast they could but they couldn't escape the blast,". "They were lucky to run into that same Froakie that was ways hanging around,". "With her dying breath she made Froakie promise to watcn over Ashley, then used Physic to send them flying far away from Kalos,". "I found them unconscious one day and nursed them back to health,".
"Sorry for the long story but I just wanted to share what little I know about Nova,". "Honesty I am scared of leaving the island,". "I am scared of real combat because I never had to do it before,". "I know one mistake or one moment of hesitation can be the end,". "Yet Jude I am even more afraid I am of what would happen if I hide,".
"If I hide I can't protect the people I grew to like who think of me as a friend,". "If I hide I can't protect the tons of innocent Pokemon that are being harmed by Nova,". "Umm Jude I want you guys to train me on fighting,". "I want to get strong so that one day I can bring back the smiles to everyone,". "Plus I just hope I can meet The Shino champion Cynthia again,". "I would love one more Pokemon battle with her,".
"Again I am sorry for rambling or for talking your ear off,".
Pika whispers something to Brock who lets out a Phish in agreement.
Brock waved towards Vern and lets out a couple of Phish Phish while waving his pinchers. Pika hoped onto one of the pincher just as Brock let loose a punch of bubbles. One of the bubbles Pika used Disarming voice in. The bubbles were mixed in with the Disarming Bubble as they floated towards Vern.
"Oh I don't think you should worry about food,". "I can always have the Wynats find us more berries,". "Plus there are plenty of fish in the waters around here," Yuzu told Vern.
"You know you have such a calm and level Aura too you,". "No wonder the others look up to you so much and they feel so safe with you around," Yuzu said to Vern.
"So should I fetch the others Vern?" Yuzu asked Vern.

Location: Outside Goldenrod.
Toxicroak stared blankly at the kid, the kid-turned statue, and the mission objective. The faint "kekeke...kekeke..." noises coming from its mouth were indeterminably between heavy breathing and laughter.
It swiftly grabbed the lot and took them away via Phantom Force portal.
Location: Scorched Slab
Some time later, Saturn woke with a sharp gasp. He was in a restoration chamber, submerged in Reuniclus healing fluid, with a mask on his face and tubes in his body. Painkillers, Audino serum, Oxygen, Saline, all essential things. He couldn't feel a good potion of his body, but he figured that would fix itself eventually.
"That's it..." he thought. "The last run....it was a good one..."
Sir, are you awake?
Psychic thoughts floated into his head. One of his telepathic sattelites. Calypso? Maybe Callisto...ah, they all sound the same in thought-speak anyways.
"Yes. Status report. Mission pillars"
"You are alive. Atlas's team successfully collected Yveltal's cocoon, the remains of Genesect, and the Cyborg's body. Toxicroak recieved Diancie, but with its trainer, apparently. Some kid. Toxicroak won't let us near him."
That last bit gave Saturn paused. Toxicroak should have killed those kids.
"Bring them here and let me talk to them."
"About that sir...he's crying over a statue..."
"You have your orders."
The psychic presence began to depart his mind.
"One more thing." Saturn insisted.
It didn't depart completely.
"Start the hunt for Blue November. Get whatever unit Redwing has been assigned."
Galactic Sattelite Janus approached the hall where Toxicroak had dropped its load. He gave the grinning frog a stern glare.
"Saturn wants to talk to him."
Toxicroak made no sudden movements. Janus called over.
"Hear that kid? The Boss of Team Galactic wants an audience with you."
Location: Nova Base Hoenn Resort
"Admin Celena! Requesting contact, Celena!"
Marissa got no response, for the tenth time, or so. She couldn't contact any of her superiors. The official Nova message is that the city was not taken, and the Admins have no injury. Which is nice and all, but Harry wasn't an admin.
Did she have her promotion or not? C'mon this is important!
She sighed, getting off Suicune and recalling it into its ball. Home base was attacked. Good a time as any for a drink. Nova culled the Battle Resort, sure, but at least they left it with a nice brewery. She took off her riding helent and made a few strides before...
Aw, are you missing me?
Marissa froze. There was a voice in her head.
No, not head. She's the one who gets into people's heads. It's just in her earpiece.
"Oh my Arceus, what is this insanity." She muttered to herself.
Did you think I was spending all that time just trying to solve Diancie? While my physical brain degraded beyond help?
"No. No, no, no, this can't be what the Porygons were for..."

She muted her comm. Drink. Yes. Please.

Austin looks up, and opens his eyes to look at the man.
He sighs, uncrossing his arms and legs and walking towards him.
"Finally. Let's go already." He says, his voice a bit shaky, no doubt hiding his sorrow over his fallen friend.

Some time later...
Location: Scorched Slab
"The child's name is Austin, sir. He's a freelance rebel and has worked with both Mewtwo and Xerneas factions. He is in possession of Victini, as well as a Cosmic Drive. In addition, Diancie formed a bond with a friend of his named Jacquelyn, who was crystallized by Diancie during our attack on Goldenrod..."
Janus continued to brief Saturn with the results of his mind scan.
"Very well. Bring him in."
The boy was brought before Saturn's incubation chamber. This section of the med bay was vacated of staff, leaving only Janus standing by.
"Saturn is gravely injured," Janus spoke to Austin, "He cannot yet speak, so I will be but a conduit for you to speak with him. As of now, you are speaking to him alone." And with that Janus stood up a bit straighter, and closed his eyes in concentration.
"Austin," Saturn spoke, "I commend you for your talent and bravery facing Nova in Goldenrod City. I thought I would be alone in my infiltration, but having you stumble into our plans was the luckiest miscalculation Galactic has ever afforded. Nova is now taking their last breath, and it couldn't be done without you. So for that, I thank you, your pokemon, and of course Jacquelyn."
A brief pause. Change of subject.
"I am injured, but I am healing. We have the most advanced technology to heal people on the planet. As a show of our gratitude, Team Galactic is offering to take every measure to heal Jacquelyn as well. And we believe we could, in the near future, if we had some help."
And then came the ask.
"Her transformation came through Diancie's powers. If we had the chance to study them, we might be able to help reverse the effects. But that wouldn't be enough on its own. We would also need the help of Xerneas, the legendary pokemon of Life. You are familiar with her, yes? Xerneas has eluded us for the longest time, likely due to our affiliation with Yveltal. But now we need Xerneas's help more than ever, not just to heal Jacquelyn, but to help heal the world from Nova's sickness."
"You are an incredibly talented person Austin, so now Galactic is asking for your help. Help us heal the world. What do you say?"
*Ring Ring Ring*
*Ring Ring Ring*
Aha! Finally someone picked up.
"Agent Kalyke, Incoming orders."
"...uh," came the voice on the other side, "Atlas? This is Tethys. Really? Again?"
Atlas grimaced and hung up. Stupid tiny buttons. He fumbled through feeling out the braille his communicator and tried again.
*Ring Ring Ring*
"Agent Kalyke, incoming orders."

Austin takes a deep breath, and lets it out slowly, taking a moment to think and closing his eyes.
I... have to keep going. If this is all I can do, then I'll do it.
He opens his eyes and gives them a stone-faced look.
"I'll do whatever I have to in order to destry Nova. Although I'm obligated to tell you that I've been having some mental issues lately before making you think I'll be a perfect soldier."

"You're not going to be a soldier." Janus/Saturn said, "Your temperament would make you a better special Agent. I am putting a team together to find Xerneas, and I am betting that you could help them."
"I suspect that you'd like to take Diancie with you. We would like to some time to study its powers, but there is no rush. WE can attend to that after you return. In any case, welcome to Team Galactic. I bestow upon you the Galactic name Loneos."
Janus visibly dropped out of his trance. He waved his hand and the doors to the med bay slid open to welcome back the staff. He moved to leave, and gestured to Austin.
"This way. We'll heal up your party, and get you some fresh equipment. You'll get a chance to sleep after you join your new team. Does that thing need charging?" He asked, obviously referring to the Cosmic Drive.
"Check your mail," Atlas said to the phone, "Your unit is being reassigned. Big game hunting. If you know what I mean."
He didn't really care if she didn't.
"A shipment of new equipment is headed your way. Plus a new recruit. You're good at handling kids with issues, right?"

"Yep! As long as those issues make the kid a violent sociopath with a strong hatred of Nova!" Corva agrees. "I am the best babysitter. Oh, right. I hope someone read the report and shipped all that to our fallback point 'cause if you sent it to the other one they're pro-o-o-obably kinda already dead."
