Team Nova Discussion/Sign-ups: Third Year!

I imagine Kath would be injured because Nova prisons are a crappy place to be a prisoner in, but it's your call.

Hey guys, a question for all of you. Would anyone be against me trying to start a Team Nova reboot RP? It would basically be the same RP starting from day 0. I don't want to distract from this ongoing RP, I just really loved the concepts and storylines behind Team Nova and want to experience some of that again. It'd only be right to ask for the original creators' permission first though, and that's pretty much all of you guys.

So is this the legendary Jay that I heard about???

Go ahead. I don't see why not. But you know what they say. The original is always the best. *sounds like a genwunner*

People way smarter then us people of a lesser being. 

On the good hand, we might get some newer meat.

On the bad hand, having one more RP in the other guys' workloads will result in stagnation and either poorer quality plot or even worse activity (Example: Oz, while not bad, could have better activity, and that's with people using characters they presumably already have a feel for. It's been going since October and we're not even past Episode 1 going by GameFAQs' 500 post limit length).

On the bad hand, I just got a bunch of characters I really want to play with, and not all of them are/will be major players in Oz.

On the good hand, I can make them major players in a new plot as opposed to only having them on what is presumably the tail-end of the RP.

On the bad hand, I consider my stuff in Team Nova to be my personal magnum opus as-is, and I am not going to change much of my plotlines, and thus it would just be another year or more of re-telling what is mostly stuff that have already been gone through.

On the good hand, that means I'll actually have a storyline planned out instead of constantly winging it, which lets me hint at stuff well in advance and make minor changes that benefit things in the long run.

Also on the bad hand, that likely means I won't be able to write Joshua/Yancy fluff outside of Oz when we get to it.

Also on the bad hand, the Oz portrayals will conflict with the reboot and cause confusion.

Also on the bad hand, I'll have to figure out how to get Hugh into the same shoes he's in now somehow, which is a result of some very specific plot advances.

On the good hand, this means people can re-tool characters or make new ones since it's becoming quite clear that certain peoples don't know how to write their own characters anymore.

On the bad hand, we would either lose completely endearing characters, or if they're NOT re-tooled, possibly be repetitive as we see the same characters doing the same things and undergoing the same form of character development.

On the good hand, the plot can be better organized now that we actually know what we're doing and we don't have to deal with n00bs from GameFAQs having the worst ideas ever.

Also on the good hand, Kalos and potentially ORAS!Hoenn can be available.

On the bad hand, it's going to take 5ever to get anywhere near the same amount of story and world building as Nova has now.

On the bad hand, this would mean everything we've been building up here in Nova would mean absolutely nothing in the end.

I'd likely create the RP on a site dedicated to RPing, where hopefully the quality and reliability would be much higher. I doubt the RP would be nearly as long as the original, and new writers with their own new characters would likely steer the story in entirely different directions than the original. This RP is truly a masterpiece made by those involved, and any reboot would not try to imitate it exactly as it was, not even close. I really don't want any reboot to distract from the original, and you all deserve to see this long story live on until it's finale. Anyone from the original story would be welcome again, but only if it doesn't mean neglecting the source RP.

The circumstances of my leaving the RP back then are something I don't wish to repeat, and even if something huge came up I would do everything in my power to find time to settle how the RP would survive in my absence, something I neglected to do then.

I only happened upon this site because what I was looking for was here. If not for that I would have never found this site. Given how it is, that would make finding new faces and characters for any possible reboot incredibly difficult.  I asked you specifically so that it wouldn't detract from the original in any way. The reboot wasn't meant to be the same people RPing the same characters through the same story; it was for new people with new characters to experience it.  Since you say no, I'll respect that. I guess I'll content myself by reading through the many pages of this RP to see how everything played out.
