Reposting this idea because people should really stop ignoring it. This type of thing should be DISCUSSED
What if the villains were all based around archetypes, and named after characters from The Wizard of Oz? They would all have cards based on that archetype. The main antagonist could be "The Man Behind the Curtain" and use some enigmatic manipulator villains as assists. That way a lot of the major guys would only be there for the last battle. And "The Wicked Witch" could team up with all of the villainesses... |

Villains/Antagonistic forces:
An agoraphobic witch who never leaves her home. Instead she animates her castle to move for her. Has an army of hellhounds and battles using weather magic herself.
A sentient swarm of straw-like parasites that swarm their prey, penetrate their skin and make their way up to feast on the host's brain. They then take control of the host's body to find other hosts. They dispose of the previous host by incinerating it before it jumps ship.
An alchemist with control over metal who accidentally transmuted his beautiful wife into a tin statue in a show of arrogance. Desperate to bring her back, he traveled the world searching for the kindest and most attractive people he can, so he can kill them and swap their body parts for the tin ones his wife has. Now his wife is almost complete. He now only needs to find a person with the perfect heart.
A shy solider who fought under the insignia of a lion who fell in love with a sorceress. She was later persecuted and executed for magical crimes she didn't commit and the knight snapped as a result, killing everyone in his kingdom. Centuries later, his spirit lives on as a grieving blood knight who fights endlessly without fear of pain or death.

So here's a bit of an elaboration on the possible villain cast.
"The Man Behind the Curtain", the main antagonist who rarely if ever shows his face and is essentially a stand in or archetype of cold manipulator villains. Some of his possible allies or cards might be Maurice (Team Nova,) Dr. Hyde (Unnecessary Balance) and Deo Trumen (Eden Saga.)
"The Wicked Witch," an openly and a sadistically evil woman with powers that at least functionally resemble magic. She would represent the "femme fatale" or evil sorceress type of villain, and might have cards like Marissa (Team Nova) and Legretta (Unneccessary Balance.)
"The Tin Man," a well armoured tank of a villain whose face would be concealed beneath his helm and represents the "Complete Monster" or heartless/emotionless (geddit!?) type of villain. Possible cards might include Celena (Nova,) Ephidel (UB) and Alucard (Austur.)
"The Scarecrow," a nigh mindless abomination that isn't vulnerable to conventional means of death except for a crippling weakness to fire, represents the mindless or ghoulish sort of villains. Perhaps a possible card might be Giratina or things of that nature.
"The Cowardly Lion," as the name would imply a lesser villain who is none the less very formidable and has more bestial cards, perhaps including many of the Eldritch Beasts from Eden Saga.
"The Flying Monkeys." Goldfish Poop Gang... that is all.
Aaaaand HHD beat me to it. : P

I will say that I like HHD's concept for the Tin Man and Cowardly Lion a lot. Not so sure about straw parasites, though, since it might be hard to RP...

A mix of Cheese's and HHD's antagonist ideas? I'm game for that. Though if the cast gets too big, there can always be generic fillers.
Also, I'll do a pseudo-sign-up sheet format soon so people can talk roster in detail instead of someone saying "I'll use so-and-so from X CYOA" and telling us NOTHING about their powers, abilities, etc.

I have a cowardly character I can give. If you need a villain, Ganthalos is also up there. In the remake, he will be far viler than he was in BL.

Well... It's common knowledge, but Serlen is your average lord(in BL, but in the remake more developed and human)
Kuro is a demon with an affiny for shadows
Marrh is basically as he is in Eden, mortal, and a wind Magistine.
Gran is relatively new and created Today, but has a pet wolf named Aden, and a great sword that has no current special abilities.
Jale is... Obviously from a futuristic setting with futuristic weapons
Everyone else is normal.

I think we should establish the setting before we try to balance our PCs to fit with it.
What about a world that's got high technology, but in such a foreign way thay it might seem like magic? That way a fantasy character and a sci-fo character could both feel at home and we can retain that out-there sort of Oz feel.

Though, Kuro and Arashi may get a huge power upgrade depending on some choices later in AS.
That's why I'm a fan of holding this RP off.
Gran needs time to develop unless Belle takes his role which she has to do the same.
Jale probably won't be in it, and will be replaced with Fenrir.
He is set for this though.
Remake!Serlen is the same as Belle, although I could use his BL powers.
Siegemund is just... Normal.
